Chapter 1466: Chapter 1461: Connections

Is it unlucky or lucky, Yang Yi himself couldn’t quite decide. Anyway, he’s still alive now, so maybe his luck is peaking.

Yang Yi is slowly breaking through the Cleaning Crew’s encirclent. The further he gets from Rockefeller Center, the safer he is, and the Cleaning Crew’s blockades beco increasingly sparse.

But dragging an injured leg while walking is truly a headache for Yang Yi because it slows him down considerably.

Where is Yang Yi going now? To the CIA office? Out of Manhattan? Neither. He’s heading to a place that the Cleaning Crew would never anticipate.

The distance is sowhat far, requiring him to walk about a thousand ters.

Yang Yi limps along the road. Everyone who sees him avoids him because a man with a gun, covered in blood, is enough to keep them away.

Yang Yi stashed away his gun because he didn’t want everyone to run the mont they saw him,

The police should have arrived by now. Yang Yi frequently hears the sound of police sirens, but none are nearby.

After massive communication breakdowns, even police communications were completely cut off. Otherwise, lots of police would have co to support by now.

Yang Yi stowed his gun, cautiously observing as he moved forward, and when a woman on a bicycle approached him, she stopped beside him.

“Hi, you’re bleeding. What happened to you?”

The girl on the bicycle was quite pretty.

Hmm, Yang Yi often received help from the opposite sex because he was handso.

Yang Yi took a deep breath, pointed behind him, and said, “There was a terrorist attack up ahead; I was shot. Don’t go further; you should leave here.”

The girl was stunned for a mont, then asked, “A terrorist attack? Why don’t you seek help from the police?”

Yang Yi smiled helplessly, then said to the girl, “Because I am the terrorist, sorry, now I need to take your bicycle, so please get off, and find a safe place to hide. It’s really dangerous here.”

Yang Yi once again pulled out his gun and, under the astonished gaze of the girl, pulled her off the bike.

“Sorry, goodbye.”

Yang Yi pedaled and sped forward. Though it was just a bicycle, having a ans of transport is faster than running.

Yang Yi pushed the bicycle to its limits, taking less than five minutes this ti to reach his destination.

Russian State Television’s New York Bureau.

The bureau was actually small, without any sign, and had a few Russian journalists. But Yang Yi wasn’t here for them; he was looking for a store next to the bureau, a shop specializing in won’s clothing.

“Sir! You can’t bring a bicycle in here, sir, please… Oh, my God.”

The female clerk intended to chase Yang Yi, who was pushing a bicycle through the door, out. But upon seeing Yang Yi covered in blood, she exclaid in shock.

Yang Yi didn’t want to leave the bicycle outside as a marker, so he told the female clerk, “I’m looking for Cora Giselle. I know she’s here. Please tell her a relative from the holand is here to see her. Ask her to see quickly.”

The female clerk was flustered. Yang Yi pointed to the back of the shop and said, “Hurry up! Can’t you see I’m about to die?”

The female clerk turned and ran, and soon, a woman looking about sixty or seventy years old ca out.

“Hello, you are?”

Yang Yi exhaled, then smiled bitterly at the elder woman in front of him, saying, “I’m not your relative but a friend of your relative. He told I could co to you with matters because you always could find him… Uh, I’m really in a hurry, so let’s not discuss this further. Baskov sent here.”

The female clerk was confused, but the elderly woman in front of Yang Yi sighed and nodded, saying, “Follow .”

Yang Yi dragged his injured leg, hobbling behind the elder lady to a small room behind the shop, an office-cum-workshop since Anne Giselle was a fashion designer and tailor; the shop only sold clothes she designed and made—niche and pricey.

Cora Giselle sat down and signaled Yang Yi to sit as well, then calmly said, “May I ask why you’re looking for , to tailor clothes?”

Yang Yi waved his hand, saying, “No more probing. I’m CIA, not KGB, but I’m a friend of KGB. Do you understand? I know you’re KGB, and I have information you must communicate back to Russia imdiately. It’s very important.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Yang Yi raised a hand, saying, “Listen, your identity cover is excellent, but my arrival spoiled your disguise and made KGB lose a crucial intelligence station. But it’s all worth it. Listen, there’s a secret organization called the Cleaning Crew. They’ve placed many nuclear bombs in the United States and could detonate at any mont, and they’ve also commandeered a Russian nuclear submarine—a strategic missile nuclear submarine—which might launch nuclear missiles at any ti. A nuclear war would ensue.”

Cora Giselle looked at Yang Yi with interest; Yang Yi continued, “I don’t know which submarine it is, but I know this incident is absolutely true. Moreover, the Cleaning Crew is hunting , and they’ve jamd communications here, so I can’t call anyone else but you.”

Cora Giselle sighed and said, “You’ve found and revealed my identity. I don’t know if this is a plot, but are you CIA?”

“Yes.”

“Why not seek help from the CIA?”

“Because I can’t! Look at ; I’m being hunted! There’s a secret organization called the Cleaning Crew that heavily infiltrated the FBI, and a group called Grey-cloaked People that deeply infiltrated the CIA. I’m an undercover in the Cleaning Crew. Complicated? As a spy, don’t you understand that ti is life?”

Cora Giselle nodded and then solemnly said, “I understand, so I don’t understand why you didn’t call since the communication has resud just now.”

Yang Yi was stunned for a mont and said, “What?”

He imdiately pulled out his phone, full signal bars. Yang Yi was overjoyed, starting to dial, realizing he could make a call.

As Yang Yi’s ecstatic mood consud him, his vision suddenly went dark as the lights in the room went out.

Yang Yi’s eyes illuminated by the phone screen, but the call he dialed was again interrupted, followed by the beep he dreaded to hear.

“Fuck!”

As Yang Yi couldn’t help but curse aloud, Cora Giselle finally stood up and said solemnly, “A blackout! A blackout has happened.”

Yang Yi inhaled and said, “What a blackout! If the blackout caused complete communication breakdown, then they’ve succeeded because now there’s no signal again.”

Cora Giselle stood and said, “I understand. Looks like the situation is truly urgent. Follow .”
