Chapter 1268: Chapter 1273: Must Be Quick
I’m afraid of amateurs leading professionals, even more so if this amateur has the power of life and death.
Anton naturally couldn’t care less, it’s just making contact, whether it’s him or Yang Yi, it makes absolutely no difference, but that poor fellow from the Shah’s intelligence agency is another story.
Yang Yi truly started to feel sympathy for his colleague nad Azar.
Azar sat down, exchanged a glance with Anton, and then looked at Wahid.
Wahid waved his hand, indicating that they could start.
Azar couldn’t help swallowing, perhaps he was unsure how to start a very normal task under these conditions.
After a brief mont of silence, Azar finally spoke.
“I’m Azar, ordered to co here to… cooperate with you, um, I’ll try my best to et, uh, your requests.”
Just a few short sentences and Azar was already sweating, probably because he struggled so much over his choice of words.
What a poor guy.
Anton said in a deep voice, “Hello, our request is simple, to et Barham at the earliest possible ti.”
Barham is the joint code na by the CIA and the Shah’s intelligence agency for Baghdadi.
The CIA and the Shah’s intelligence et at a café in Baghdad’s Green Zone to discuss eting Baghdadi. If news of this got out, there would be an uproar around the world, but if soone managed to catch solid evidence, it would be a disaster.
So during the eting, neither side would reveal their identity, but they must be able to prove their identity and make the other party believe in their true identity, and they wouldn’t say a word more until safety was confird.
That’s how it should be done.
After asking the question, Anton imdiately stood up and walked towards Yang Yi, while Yang Yi took out a tal piece from his pocket, which looked like an ordinary keychain. After Anton took the keychain, he returned to his table calmly and looked at Azar.
Azar was still sweating as he stood up and walked towards Wahid, but was imdiately stopped by Wahid’s attendant.
Azar glanced around because the café was not just occupied by their two tables. Even though there weren’t many people having coffee at noon, this kind of contact still made him feel increasingly insulted on an intellectual level.
In a tone almost begging, Azar whispered, “Our… keychain, sir!”
Wahid was taken aback, thought for a mont, and looked at his attendant.
The attendant was also shocked but quickly pulled out a keychain from his pocket.
Wahid waved his hand, and Azar obtained his keychain.
Azar’s face turned a bit red as he placed the keychain on the table after exchanging a glance with Anton.
Anton held the keychain close to Azar’s keychain. The two tal pieces showed no anomalies, but after a mont, he nodded, casually putting the keychain back in his pocket.
Azar exhaled a long breath.
The two keychains looked ordinary, but they were high-tech items provided by the CIA. Using such a traditional, almost primitive ans of identifying oneself was indeed the simplest and most reliable thod, but when combined with high-tech, it naturally beca even more reliable.
However, this fusion of traditional and high-tech ans of contact was insulted due to the wrong place and occasion.
Anton said quietly, “We want to et Barham.”
Azar sighed softly, and whispered, “Well, it’s difficult because…”
Anton waited quietly for Azar to make excuses, but at this mont, Wahid, who had been listening, said with displeasure, “Difficult? Why is it difficult? Can Bar…”
Azar’s face changed drastically, looking at Wahid with imploring eyes, he was already desperate, not knowing how to manage what Wahid was about to say next.
Fortunately, Wahid tily changed his words, “Can Barham refuse?”
Azar breathed a little sigh of relief, and he didn’t know whether he was explaining to Wahid or speaking to Anton, he just whispered, “Barham now frequently changes residence, I need to contact him first, then we can visit him, uh, this takes ti, I might need a week…”
Anton said nothing, but Wahid imdiately interjected, “A week? That’s too long! Contact him within a day, that’s an order!”
Azar was almost in tears, his throat kept moving, his face was constantly changing, but he sat there not knowing how to proceed, causing a bit of an awkward silence.
Wahid said unhappily, “Didn’t you hear what I said?”
Yang Yi knew Wahid was a gold mine, but he didn’t expect this mine to start spewing gold without being dug.
Feeling imnse sympathy for Azar, Yang Yi didn’t utter a word because Azar was certainly trying to stall for ti, even if unnecessary, he’d still delay because this allowed him to ask for more benefits.
However, Wahid’s presence directly crushed all of Azar’s hopes. So things can be done but not said, even if the Shah’s intelligence has close ties with Baghdadi, even if the CIA is a partner, Azar still had to keep himself clear, but now all effort was ruined by Wahid.
Azar recognized reality, because who knows how much trouble Wahid would stir up if things continued.
Azar appeared much more determined as he forced a smile at Anton, then whispered, “I’ll contact Mr. Barham imdiately, today, once ti and place are confird we’ll visit him right away.”
Anton nodded, smiling, “Thank you.”
Azar softly exhaled, but Wahid once again said, “How much longer do you want to wait? Now, imdiately, contact… uh, uh, Barham, yes Barham, tell him I want to see him.”
Azar was almost suffocating, but Wahid wasn’t finished, he continued, “Call him, I’m listening.”
Azar turned his head, whispered, “Your Highness! Can we leave here to make the call…”
Wahid looked around, and said, “No problem, there’s nobody here, everything seems normal, who knows what you’re doing? Just make the call here.”
Yang Yi finally couldn’t hold back anymore, he couldn’t endure Azar making a call in a bustling café, so he smiled, “How about making the call in the car, it’s a bit too noisy here, I don’t really like it.”
Making a call to Baghdadi in the café was sothing Yang Yi didn’t want to risk.
Wahid finally relented, waving his hand, saying, “Alright, but hurry up, don’t keep waiting, I have no ti to waste here, Azar, my only request from you, it must be quick!”
