Chapter 1263: Chapter 1268: Going on a Field Assignnt
Yang Yi was a bit dazed; he felt like life was becoming unbearable.
Just as Yang Yi was lost in thought, his phone rang. When he picked it up, it was Aaron’s number.
“It’s ti to work. Co to my office tomorrow.”
“Yes, sir.”
After hanging up, Yang Yi said to Anton, “It’s Aaron.”
“What’s up?”
“He wants to go to his office. Hmm, the timing is a bit too coincidental, but I believe he hasn’t discovered anything.”
Yang Yi had been idle for quite so ti, and Aaron never asked him to do anything. Now that Aaron took the initiative to find him, Yang Yi was genuinely quite happy about it.
Why? Because Aaron reaching out ant there was sothing to do, and it should be related to the Grey-cloaked People, which was exactly what Yang Yi needed and was eagerly anticipating.
Yang Yi stood up, walked to the door, nodded to Bonnie, who was sitting outside, and said, “I need to go to headquarters tomorrow, help pack, I won’t be leaving tonight, hmm.”
Bonnie nodded, looked at her watch, and said, “Got it.”
Bonnie’s attitude seed a bit off, but Yang Yi thought she probably wouldn’t eavesdrop on his conversation, right? Because he wasn’t guarded against Bonnie, so Bonnie had no need to eavesdrop either, hmm, she probably wouldn’t.
Now that Yang Yi was in New York and needed to go to Aaron’s office in Washington, he had to arrange a private jet or sothing. Of course, Bonnie would handle that for him.
Early the next morning, Yang Yi boarded his plane. He now had a dium-sized private jet for his exclusive use, which was quite convenient, but Yang Yi was considering purchasing a helicopter as well. It would be used for trips that aren’t far enough to require a jet but not close enough for driving.
Yang Yi hadn’t arranged a specific eting ti with Aaron, but he could see Aaron at any ti now.
Once seated across from Aaron, Aaron spread his hands, placing the pen in his hand on the table, and said with a helpless expression, “I’ve never seen an agent like you, with your own private jet, a luxury ho, and billions of US Dollars in assets. Honestly, to protect you and prevent an investigation, do you know how much effort I’ve spent?”
Yang Yi smiled and said, “Actually, I can give up my CIA agent identity because it doesn’t seem useful to .”
Aaron rubbed his face and laughed, “You’re much wealthier than I am. Financially, we’re not even in the sa league. You’re the boss, a hidden billionaire, while I’m just a salaried employee.”
This was a topic Yang Yi couldn’t easily engage with, so he just smiled.
Aaron continued to smile and said, “Hmm, your wealth accumulation is actually quite accidental, to put it bluntly, just luck.”
“I admit that’s true. I haven’t even learned how to spend money yet. Hmm, if it’s convenient, would you like to give you so?”
Yang Yi was very sincere when saying this. If Aaron wanted, why not give him a billion or two? His money was like a rootless tree; it might disappear any day. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have gone to great lengths to have Justin secretly stash so money for Xiao Ran and the others for a rainy day.
It could be said that Yang Yi’s wealth exposed to the public isn’t real money because Aaron, with a single thought, could kill him. Without life, what’s the point of money? Just like Deyo Mather, no matter how wealthy he was, after his death, his money was still taken by others.
“You’re going to give money? Thanks, but no thanks, I don’t need it.”
After saying that, Aaron smiled and said, “Actually, you don’t need a lot of money either. Do you know why we didn’t fight for Deyo’s legacy and handed it over to you?”
“Because of the Cleaners.”
Yang Yi scooted forward a bit and continued, “Because it would be inconvenient for you to accept it, taking Deyo’s inheritance would expose you to the Cleaners’ view.”
Aaron waved his hand and said, “Hmm, that’s part of it. So why didn’t the Cleaners want it either? Even if they were mutually worried about being discovered, a large fortune is worth the risk, right?”
Yang Yi froze for a mont. Aaron was discussing money issues with him for the first ti, and he felt there might be so breakthrough in these casual conversations.
“Why?”
“Because…”
With a wave of his hand, Aaron gave a faint smile and said, “When money is no longer significant, it naturally loses value. This principle is simple, right?”
Yang Yi thought about it and said, “I understand.”
Aaron cleared his throat lightly and said, “Hmm, just a little reminder: it’s good to have enough money to spend. Having too much isn’t really useful. In my opinion, gold retains its value better than cash. Maybe you could convert your cash to gold.”
Is that a hint?
It certainly is a hint. Think about what the Grey-cloaked People did—they have been hoarding gold like crazy, buying Ukraine’s gold from Yang Yi. Isn’t that exactly what the Grey-cloaked People are doing?
Yang Yi sincerely said, “Thank you, I will consider it.”
Aaron nodded and then smiled, saying, “You haven’t been on a field assignnt for a long ti, have you?”
“Uh, I don’t think I’ve ever been on a field assignnt. I an, for a CIA agent, I haven’t done any real fieldwork.”
Aaron cheerfully said, “So do you want to go on a field assignnt? If you don’t have much to do now, why not go on a field assignnt?”
“Of course, sir, I can certainly go on a field assignnt. You don’t need to ask , right?”
Aaron laughed and said, “It’s hard to tell a billionaire to go on a field assignnt. And there’s so danger; it involves going to the damn place that is the Middle East. Hmm, now that you know, I need soone to deal with so matters related to Baghdadi in the Middle East. Can you go?”
“Certainly, sir.”
Yang Yi was a bit surprised because Aaron found him the day after he had just dealt with sothing. To call it rely a coincidence seed a bit too coincidental, right?
Aaron smiled and said, “Very good, very good, I knew I wasn’t wrong about you. You’ll go to the Middle East tomorrow. You can choose a few assistants yourself.”
“Yes, sir. What task do you need to accomplish?”
Aaron thought for a mont and said, “What do you think of Baghdadi?”
Yang Yi paused and said, “Uh, no particular opinion.”
Aaron continued to smile and said, “If I told you Baghdadi was soone we supported, would you be surprised?”
Yang Yi thought for a mont. He figured he shouldn’t seem overly surprised, so he said calmly, “I wouldn’t be surprised. Although there’s no evidence, this kind of thing is easy to see, right?”
Aaron spread his hands and laughed, “Alright then, your task is… hmm, how should I explain? Baghdadi is showing signs of getting out of control. I need you to take a look, so you can’t go openly or represent the CIA. That’s why you’re most suitable for this.”
