Chapter 1502: It’s Ding Xiang

Editor: Henyee Translations

“Is Miss Qiao back?”

“Sigh, I couldn’t be more envious!”

“…”

Naturally, everyone assumed they were heading to the first section of the Shao Family.

Though accustomed to this sight, the villagers couldn’t help but sigh with envy each time.

...

Unexpectedly, upon entering the village, the convoy came to a halt. Zhou Chong dismounted, respectfully cupped his fists at a farmer, and inquired, “Could you kindly direct us to Ding Xiang’s parents’ residence and Shao Yunduan’s family?”

“The first section of the Shao Family is right over there! The largest house belongs to them! What did you mention just now? Ding… Ding Xiang?”

Coincidentally, this farmer was also a member of the Ding Clan and was closely acquainted with Ding Xiang’s family. By all accounts, Ding Xiang should address him as a cousin.

Hearing Ding Xiang’s name, he was taken aback and asked in confusion.

Zhou Chong explained, “Yes, indeed. Ms. Ding, also known as Ding Xiang, is our madam! Our Madam mentioned that her mother is Ms. Zhou, and her father is named Ding Erzhu. Where can we find the Ding Family?”

“What! It’s really Ding Xiang!”

The farmer exclaimed, his mouth agape, taking a while to collect himself.

The surrounding villagers, witnessing the spectacle, immediately gathered and erupted!

“What? Ding Xiang? Which Ding Xiang?”

“My mother is Ms. Zhou, and my father is Ding Erzhu. Isn’t she the granddaughter of Fifth Grandpa Ding who passed away two years ago?”

“Pfft, pfft. She definitely didn’t die. Otherwise, why would someone be looking for her? Back then, she was nowhere to be found.”

“Yes!”

“What did he just call her? Miss Ding? When did Ding Xiang bee a lady?”

“Oh my, what’s happening!”

“Is Ding Xiang back? Is she in the carriage? Why isn’t she ing out? Ding Xiang, Ding Xiang!”

A voice called out to the carriage.

Qingyun smiled and explained, “Our Madam hasn’t returned yet. She’s currently occupied and couldn’t make it. She misses her parents, so she sent us subordinates back to visit on her behalf.”

The crowd erupted in excitement, the motion intensifying.

“Oh my goodness, it’s really Ding Xiang!”

“Where has she been all this time? Is she… wealthy?”

“Hey, what’s going on!”

“Exactly. It’s quite peculiar.”

“Regardless, she’s undoubtedly rich. Look at these brightly dressed servants, the carriages, and horses. She must have struck it rich!”

“Sigh, I’m so envious!”

“…”

The animated crowd, buzzing with curiosity and excitement, grew denser. A motion echoed, and someone shouted, “Here they e!” “Fifth Grandpa Ding!” “Fifth Grandma Ding!” and so forth.

The crowd instinctively made way as they witnessed Fifth Grandpa Ding, Fifth Grandma Ding, and a sizable group rushing over with flushed faces and sparkling eyes.

Evidently, someone had hurried to share the news, prompting their swift arrival.

Upon spotting the ten individuals, ten horses, and numerous carriages, Fifth Grandma Ding exclaimed, “Oh my!” She slapped her thigh, so exhilarated that she nearly fainted!

Fifth Grandpa Ding and his family were overe with a mix of anger and greed.

Evidently, they had already assumed ownership of everything.

Fifth Grandpa Ding remained somewhat posed. He halted the family members on the verge of clambering onto the carriage. It was too precarious, and besides, why were they eyeing their belongings as if they were their own? Naturally, they needed to step back for now.
