Chapter 2121: Are You Trying to Revolt?
The Fan Clan must have dispatched Fan Ruyin to undermine him, Shao Yunduan speculated. It seed inevitable!
As anticipated, the citizens’ laughter rendered Sun ng and his cohorts visibly incensed. They seethed with anger and humiliation!
“Shao Yunduan, are you plotting treason?” Sun ng’s tone was biting, his subordinates shooting daggers at Shao Yunduan.
Had they not been in Anze Province, Shao Yunduan had no doubt they would have attacked him outright.
Shao Yunduan composed himself, his voice steady. “General Sun, what baseless accusations are these? Why stoop to quarreling with an ignorant woman?”
Sun ng sneered. “You’ve always been cunning! I won’t trust a single word from you! Proving your innocence should be simple, but this woman has insulted the Emperor! I’ll apprehend them! And these fools dare mock the Emperor! How disrespectful! Do I need to spell out your duties, Lord Shao? Are your officers rely for show?”
Fan Ruyin and her daughter were stunned, as were the bystanders.
Though not all agreed with Sun ng’s assertions, they recognized that this sudden “general” wielded so influence. Otherwise, Shao Yunduan wouldn’t tolerate his impertinence.
Seeing Sun ng’s fierce deanor, she was further taken aback.
The first rule of enjoying a spectacle was ensuring one’s safety. It wouldn’t be worth it if it brought about disaster.
The timid spectators hastened to depart in fear, prompting others to follow suit.
“What are you waiting for? Seize them all!” Sun ng commanded the bailiffs.
Yet, the officers remained motionless, casting helpless glances at Shao Yunduan.
Sun ng’s fury escalated. He pointed accusingly at Shao Yunduan, his lips curling in a sneer. “Very well, Lord Shao seeks to rebel! Attack!”
With a resounding roar, Sun ng lunged at Shao Yunduan. While his brethren may have engaged in many unreasonable acts, in this chaotic world, especially for those versed in martial arts, achieving renown required a certain level of skill.
Sun ng had fought his way up from among the ranks of re attendants to beco a trusted and esteed protector of his master. Naturally, he possessed so prowess.
He was well aware, however, that relying solely on himself wouldn’t suffice. He needed to ensure all his brethren were equally formidable.
Naturally, Sun ng’s chosen and recruited subordinates couldn’t all be ineffectual.
When the ti for combat arrived, they proved quite formidable.
Hang Xingshan and Ah Du were present, along with a group of rigorously trained bailiffs. How could they allow Sun ng to prevail?
Shao Yunduan even managed to pull Qiao Xuan close to protect her.
Hang Xingshan and Ah Du shouted, “Protect the Lord!” and engaged Sun ng and his cohorts in combat.
The streets descended into chaos. People scread and scattered in all directions. Amidst the mayhem, clashes erupted—pushing, hitting, stumbling, and falling—creating a scene of pandemonium.
Upon exchanging blows, the expressions of Sun ng and his followers shifted, tinged with a hint of panic.
Hang Xingshan, Ah Du, and their allies proved overpowering. These bailiffs were skilled combatants, far more fierce and potent than Sun ng and his associates had anticipated.
It was a stark contrast to the bailiffs they encountered elsewhere!
This served as damning evidence.
Shao Yunduan’s ambitions were laid bare. The governnt office wouldn’t harbor such a formidable officer if he didn’t have aspirations beyond re governance.
