Shao Yunduan was taken aback by Tang Fanghua’s decision to defend Lvying. While he couldn’t help but feel a hint of admiration, it paled in comparison to his disgust for the servant’s actions.

Lvying, paralyzed with fear, forgot to shed tears. Her swollen eyes bore into Qiao Xuan with a mixture of defiance and terror.
Tang Fanghua’s expression shifted from disbelief to condemnation. Despite her earnest pleas, Qiao Xuan refused to relent. Why was she so rciless? How could she advocate for violence over a minor transgression?

Qiao Xuan scoffed. “Kindness is reserved for those deserving of it. Have you ever seen anyone extend kindness to a venomous snake?”
Tang Fanghua seethed with indignation. This humiliation was unbearable—a slap to her dignity.
“I won’t spare her,” Qiao Xuan declared boldly. “I’m determined to end this wretch’s life. My husband holds sway in this city, and his word is law. Whatever I desire, I attain. If I demand her life, it’s as good as done. Do you doubt ?”
“Miss! Please, I beg of you! Spare !” Lvying pleaded, her voice trembling with fear as tears stread down her pale face.
Tang Fanghua, swayed by Qiao Xuan’s confidence, appealed desperately, “Madam Shao, do you truly wish to beco a killer?”
Qiao Xuan’s sneer deepened. “Do you misunderstand the value of human life? This servant callously hard the eldest son of the Prefect. Even if I were to administer her punishnt, she would still deserve it, wouldn’t you agree?”
Tang Fanghua choked back a sob, breaking out in a cold sweat.
She realized the truth—her life was expendable. Lvying had hard a scion of the Shao Family, deserving nothing less than severe retribution.
