Chapter 2028: Fighting for the Position
The tension in the air thickened with each passing mont, the scent of gunpowder growing more potent by the minute. It was on the brink of eruption!

The Fourth Prince and Honored Princess i claid a partial victory within the Imperial City, yet the Sun Family absconded with Princess Concubine Virtue and the Second Prince, fleeing the city’s confines.
Before departing, Princess Concubine Virtue ignited a massive blaze within the court. General Sun, in a ruthless maneuver, ordered arson near the city gates, leaving behind a trail of sabotage and potential assassinations.
Caught in the wake of the Sun Family’s brutality, the Fourth Prince and Honored Princess i found themselves in dire straits. Amidst their panic, the Third Prince led a band of loyalists out of the Imperial City.
But Empress Qi chose to remain, sacrificing her safety to serve as a diversion.
Honored Princess i and the Fourth Prince remained oblivious to the Third Prince’s escape, a consequence of Empress Qi’s cunning. By the ti they caught wind of it, he had already put considerable distance between them.
Fearing a potential trap, the Fourth Prince hesitated to dispatch pursuers.
Nevertheless, Empress Qi remained within their grasp.
As for the Second Prince and Princess Concubine Virtue, lacking the legitimacy of the queen or rightful heir, they held little sway. Once the dust settled, troops could be deployed to quash any rebellion they might font.
Similarly, Princess Consort’s family fell under the Fourth Prince’s control.
With the Crown Prince’s demise, the East Palace beca untenable for them.

Initially resistant to vacate the East Palace, she ultimately lacked the resolve to end her life alongside her family.
