Zheng Sangge added with a cold tone, “Lord Shao is correct! Before the crown prince and others were made aware, you didn’t express concern about failing to guide your nephew properly. Now you seek a chance for redemption? What kind of ga are you playing with us?”
General Sun slamd the table. “This is beyond forgiveness!”
The fourth prince harbored deep animosity, yet he understood that the Head Steward’s tenure was dood. Even if his life were spared, the position of Head Steward was forfeit, and his nephew’s fate far from assured.
General Sun and the second brother wouldn’t let the matter rest, and his father would struggle to justify it. Attempting to garner support from the generals was futile; who would believe him after witnessing the fate of Zheng Sangge and the others?
The fourth prince, foreseeing trouble down the line, decided to distance himself from the Head Steward. Coldly, he declared, “I know nothing of this affair. If I did, you wouldn’t escape unscathed! Given the current situation, Crown Prince, these two are your responsibility. Whether you choose punishnt or interrogation, it’s in your hands!”
Head Steward Wen and Wen Fuxin imdiately collapsed, wailing on the ground.
Crown Prince, irritated, frowned and ordered, “Gag them and take them away!”
Lord Qin promptly complied. Soon, individuals approached, muffling the cries and swiftly escorting them out.
The Crown Prince sighed inwardly, casting a glance at Shao Yunduan, Qiao Xuan, and Zheng Sangge, and offered gentle solace. “I understand that you’ve all endured injustice. Those individuals are despicable and tyrannical, deserving no easy forgiveness! Let Lord Qin handle the interrogation, and we’ll thoroughly investigate the matter. We’ll address it according to your wishes!”
Zheng Sangge and Shao Yunduan expressed no objections. They exchanged appreciative glances and silently thanked each other.
Lord Qin, though internally groaning, had no choice but to steel himself and accept the responsibility.
Originally a minor case, a re conflict among ordinary individuals, it would have resulted in a scolding and perhaps a lesson for resolution. Yet, the involvent of three parties with extraordinary identities promised a more severe outco.

However, Lord Qin couldn’t ignore the Fourth Prince’s influence, complicating matters and giving him a headache.
Now tasked with handling the case, the Crown Prince rose and dismissed the assembly.
The darkening sky signaled the end of the day.
Crown Prince regarded Zheng Sangge and the others with a gentle gaze.
Shao Yunduan respectfully said, “Crown Prince, I will attend to General Zheng.”
Crown Prince nodded with a satisfied smile and concluded, “That’s excellent. Let’s reconvene tomorrow!”
