Chapter 1523: Almost Going Wrong

Editor: Henyee Translations

The Young Master was compassionate. If this woman had faced persecution and lost her way in the forest, the Young Master would undoubtedly feel remorse if he didn’t offer assistance.

Surprisingly, the man changed his mind swiftly, leaving Qiao Xuan pleased. She nodded gratefully. “Thank you, Big Brother.”

Xie Miao shot her a brief glance and led her back.

Upon Qiao Xuan’s arrival, Xie Dong and Xie Xi turned around instinctively, their mouths agape in shock.

Equally taken aback, Qiao Xuan cried out and stared at them in bewildernt. She then turned to Xie Jingrong, whose back was initially facing her, and asked tentatively, “Are you… Young Master Xie?”

...

This ti, it was Xie Miao’s turn to widen his eyes!

Xie Jingrong’s heart skipped a beat. He swiftly turned around, confirming Qiao Xuan’s identity. “Madam Shao!”

Rushing toward her, he bombarded her with questions. “What are you doing here? Where is Lord Shao? What’s going on?”

Xie Miao scratched his head, feeling a bit overwheld. Sothing seed amiss.

Attempting to feign distress, Qiao Xuan managed to muster a thin layer of mist in her eyes. “Young Master Xie, I’m so fortunate!”

She sighed with a mix of surprise and joy. “It’s a long story.”

Xie Jingrong invited her to sit under a tree and discuss matters. anwhile, he instructed Xie Dong and Xie Xi to roast at and prepare soup. “Are you hungry, Madam Shao? Have sothing to eat first.”

Feeling a bit hungry, Qiao Xuan nodded and expressed her gratitude. She then recounted her tale.

Most details were straightforward, but Qiao Xuan needed a plausible explanation for how she single-handedly incapacitated the six assailants. Consequently, she claid to have fortuitously acquired potent knockout dicines during her ti in the capital of Qingdi. Given the tumultuous journey, she kept these dicines handy for ergencies.

Surprisingly, those acquired knockout dicines proved invaluable, providing the ans to incapacitate the assailants and secure their escape.

In the dense forest, determining the correct direction proved challenging. Qiao Xuan, feeling helpless, decided to choose a direction arbitrarily. Her plan was to walk and assess the situation, opting to swim downstream if she encountered a river. As luck would have it…

“I never expected to encounter you, Young Master Xie. My luck is truly remarkable!”

Qiao Xuan’s bright smile lifted Xie Jingrong’s spirits.

“Madam Shao, fret not. Let’s take a break, and we’ll head to Yanzhou City. Lord Shao and the others must be anxiously awaiting us.”

“Thank you, Young Master. I’m truly sorry for disrupting your peace this ti.”

“No need, Madam Shao. I didn’t have any specific plans. My whereabouts aren’t a concern.”

Seemingly casually, Xie Jingrong asked Qiao Xuan about the direction she ca from. Standing, he signaled for Xie Miao to join him.

“Go back and find them. Take care of those people.”

Xie Miao was montarily stunned.

The eldest son of the Xie Family wasn’t a re scholar but the heir to the family. Such a directive wasn’t unusual. Yet, Xie Miao noted that it was the first ti his Young Master had explicitly asked him to eliminate a group of individuals.

He comprehended the implications behind “take care of those people.”

“Young Master, I can’t leave your side. What if—”

“There’s no ‘what if.’ A journey of a few miles is nothing to you. Go and return quickly.”
