Feigning embarrassnt, Qiao Xuan lowered her head and ran out.
The two n laughed boisterously behind her, with one of them still making wretched comnts. “Sigh, what a sha! What a pity!”
Another playfully scolded him, “Rein in your thoughts. She’s the wife of the Primus and the Minister of Revenue!”
The person sneered, “Do I need you to tell ? Don’t I know?”
While they had captured the wife of an imperial court official, the wife of the Primus, they wouldn’t dare harm her. Word could easily spread, and the consequences would be dire. His Highness, the Crown Prince, was already in a fierce political struggle with Lord Shao. If Lord Shao and his wife were killed, the bla would fall on Lord Shao, but harming Madam Shao would be a different matter. His Highness would be deed shaless, leading officials to question their allegiance.

Qiao Xuan utilized her superpower to locate the two n collecting firewood nearby. Using a rock, she swiftly incapacitated them. Before they could raise an alarm, she silenced them with a stuffing of grass and gravel in their mouths, securely tying them up and concealing them in thick bushes.
Indifferent to their fate, Qiao Xuan left it to their luck.
These assailants dared to ambush and capture her, and she saw no reason to be polite. Opting for leniency, she refrained from using her powers to strangle them directly with vines.
Continuing her search with her superpower, Qiao Xuan intercepted the two n collecting water on their way back to the cave. Knocking them out, she tied them up and discreetly concealed them in the lush grass.
Easily maneuvering in her forest surroundings, Qiao Xuan ensured they would wake up unaware of the events that transpired, only realizing they were ambushed and unconscious.
Surveying the area, she located a spot to rest. The cave lacked cover, and she needed to wait until the two n entered the forest.
While she had the option to take action openly, doing so in an exposed space would draw unnecessary attention. She refrained from revealing her superpower to anyone, not intending to let others know.
As the sun gradually set in the west, the afterglow faded, and dusk descended. The mountain rocks cast long shadows, dimming the surroundings. In the cave, the two n finally sensed sothing amiss. The person who went outside seed to be taking an unusually long ti.
Concerned, one of them speculated, “Did that woman manage to escape?”
The other, feeling uneasy, frowned. “This—out in the middle of nowhere. How could she dare?”
While they weren’t overly anxious about their comrades, assuming they might have encountered wild animals, Madam Shao’s prolonged absence unsettled them. Both n regretted their confidence, realizing that if they had foreseen this, they wouldn’t have been so certain she wouldn’t dare to run. Soone should have shadowed her from a distance.
“…She might not have escaped. Perhaps, perhaps she got lost?”
“Yes, yes! That seems the most likely explanation!”
