Chapter 1501: Send Soone Back

Editor: Henyee Translations

Ding Xiang chuckled and pondered for a mont before speaking, “I suddenly have no desire to return. However, sending a few individuals back seems fitting. It’s crucial for those people to know we’re still alive!”

“Agreed!”

ng Wanfu responded without hesitation.

Ding Xiang burst into laughter. “It’s settled then!”

She promptly instructed Zhou Chong, Qing Yun, and Qing Lan to bring along twelve personal guards. Laden with a considerable stack of banknotes and a ticulously crafted list, they also carried top-notch wolf skins, fox skins, beautiful jade carvings, and a box of gems. Riding straight to Yuzhang, they were on their way.

...

After reconsideration, the couple altered their plans. Ding Xiang opted to send soone back to visit her parents, putting on a show of prestige in Shaoding Village, but they would not venture to the ng family.

All the ng’s Bay families shared the sa sect, and their population thrived. The situation was intricate, and it was only their branch that had plotted against ng Wanfu in the past, not the entire family clan. Severing ties with the entire clan would be self-destructive, erasing their roots and fostering fear and prejudice among the people. It was certainly not the optimal choice.

To impart a lesson to the two families that wronged them, others were unaware of the past details. Confronting them would be challenging, considering their limited understanding of the internal dynamics of the ng family. Hence, it was wiser to let ng Wanfu address the situation himself in the future—a more satisfying endeavor.

Not only did Ding Xiang’s party avoid ng’s Bay, but they refrained from uttering a word about ng Wanfu.

On the contrary, Zhou Chong, Qingyun, and the others traveled in nimble carriages, reaching Yuzhang province city half a month later.

It was already the end of September.

At the end of September, Yuzhang province still embraced warmth, in stark contrast to Huning City where the winds had grown cold. There, frost clung to every morning and night, sending shivers down one’s spine.

This season marked Yuzhang’s pri, adorned with the jubilation of the harvest.

Securing lodging in a province inn, they reserved a courtyard for a two-day stay.

Over these days, they ticulously procured items listed by Madam Ding Xiang. Since the intention was to return and make a grand display, they opted for an extravagant affair.

Given the distance from Huning City, it made more sense to acquire various gifts in the province city.

Each person went their separate ways. They purchased 50 to 60 pieces of high-quality silk and satin, 36 pieces of porcelain, jade, and other adornnts. Additionally, they acquired two sets of 16 embroidered screens made with precious wood. The remainder included jewelry, spices, tea leaves, cubilose, donkey-hide gelatin, flower glue, abalone, and an array of other items. Five carriages were hired in the province city to transport this considerable load.

Embarking from the province city that morning, they reached Heshan County, spending the night at the county inn. Early the next morning, they set forth with a special destination—Shaoding Village.

Upon their arrival, the village was buzzing with activity, with families preparing breakfast. Smoke wafted from kitchen chimneys, and the sounds of chickens crowing filled the air, creating a lively atmosphere.

The more lively, the better; it attracted more people!

Everyone in the group exchanged glances, sharing laughter.

Over ten strangers, clad in vibrant attire and mounted on horses, led a few large carriages into the village. The spectacle and grandeur captivated the attention of villagers who quickly noticed their arrival.

“Wow, they must be heading to the Shao Family’s first section again. Look at those carriages; they must have brought back a treasure trove of goodies!”
