Chapter 1271: Manager

Editor: Henyee Translations

Zhao Mu found himself heading towards the manager’s office, not expecting what awaited him there.

To his astonishnt, the manager turned out to be none other than Uncle Qing!

Shocked, Zhao Mu suddenly pieced together the puzzle and his emotions swirled into a turbulent mix of shock and anger. “Zheng Qing, tell the truth, was this Zhao Shu’s sche from the very beginning?”

“Mada Shao purchased mulberry fields, didn’t she? He used her to deceive , didn’t he?”

It was inconceivable that soone could acquire such vast mulberry fields with a re 2,000,000 liang. It was a clever ruse, flipping the left hand with the right!

“I can’t believe it! That scoundrel! How dare he play such a trick on !”

“He even had the audacity to pass the contract to soone else to trap !”

As Zhao Mu seethed with anger, a wicked satisfaction washed over Uncle Qing.

Zhao Mu, the wealthiest man in Yangzhou, and his Young Master had no allies, being both father and son. They stood no chance against Zhao Mu.

Unexpectedly, together with Mada Shao, they had managed to outmaneuver Zhao Mu and take a substantial bite out of his fortune!

“Master Zhao, you’ve got it all wrong. Mada Shao did indeed purchase a portion of the mulberry garden. She hired to handle the transaction. What’s wrong with that?”

“Master Zhao, you’ve never suffered a loss before. You’re rely venting your frustration. Why let this anger consu you? Moreover, if word gets out, it won’t reflect well on you.”

Both Qiao Xuan and Shao Yunduan were discreet individuals. Qiao Xuan’s brief visit to Yangzhou had sent shockwaves through the local business community, but she had vanished without a trace. The business elite continued to speculate about her origins.

Uncle Qing had no desire to bring up Qiao Xuan again.

Zhao Mu rely snorted in response.

He realized that spreading the rumor would not bode well for him. If it got out, he would find it difficult to face anyone, especially when he inevitably failed at the 500 ters and his son fell victim to outsiders’ tricks.

Zhao Mu shot an intense glare at Uncle Qing, his heart aching with anger. He was so infuriated that he couldn’t find words to express his frustration.

The audacity of Uncle Qing, a re servant, to flaunt his influence in front of him! Zhao Shu, that scoundrel, must have truly crossed a line!

He had contemplated confronting Zhao Shu, but the re thought of it made his blood boil. So, he opted to keep his silence.

Despite his seething anger, he remained focused on the matter at hand. He had faced many grand challenges and storms in his life, and he couldn’t afford to lose sight of his objectives.

Observing Zhao Mu’s rapid return to composure, Uncle Qing couldn’t help but admire his ability to assess profit and loss. Mada Zheng simply couldn’t match his business acun.

Uncle Qing made it clear that he wouldn’t sign any contracts, reassuring Zhao Mu with a smile that Mada Shao would undoubtedly uphold her promise. All he needed to do was be patient. When the silk hit the market, they would pay him the market price, without offering any discounts.

Zhao Mu muttered under his breath, “…”

Even Uncle Qing dared to challenge him! If it had been Mada Shao, Zhao Mu might have been more diplomatic, but when dealing with Uncle Qing, niceties were out of the question.

Zhao Mu sneered, “Very well, rember your words today!”

With that, he departed.

The mulberry garden still rested in Zhao Shu’s possession, and he needed to amass sufficient funds to purchase the silk. His ungrateful son would make no exceptions for him, that much was certain.
