Ryan and Yana looked at the CT scan. Yana smiled brightly, clearly relieved. After confirming that Anglian wasn't in critical condition, she finally felt a sense of vindication.
After giving their statents and having Anglian's wounds treated, he was wheeled out. Seeing Ryan, his eyes burned with hatred.
The ordeal had completely sobered him up. From his earlier arrogance, he now looked pale and visibly frightened.
Throwing soone off a building without a second thought—this kind of ruthlessness would scare 99% of people.
However, when he saw the police, his eyes lit up, and he pointed at Ryan, saying, "Officer, he's the one who pushed off the building."
But what Anglian didn't expect was his father stepping forward and slapping him hard across the face. The slap was so forceful that Anglian's head spun, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
"You little brat! Your cousin was discussing business, and you showed up drunk to cause trouble. And now you're accusing soone you don't even know?"
"You're out of your mind…"
Anglian's father continued to rain down punches, and the officers quickly stepped in to stop him.
Gansler also tried to diate, saying coldly, "Anglian, are you out of your mind? Young Master Ryan is my client. You just t him today, and you're saying he pushed you off the building?"
"Use your brain! You were completely drunk, weren't you?"
The officer nodded and said, "We'll co back tomorrow to take his statent. He's too drunk right now; anything he says would be invalid."
"Alright, take care!"
Despite the scolding and hitting, Anglian was still their son, and they couldn't help but feel sorry for him.
Anglian was wheeled into a hospital room. His condition required further examination and surgery, which was routine for the hospital.
The two girls waited obediently nearby, while the four n gathered to smoke.
Gansler said casually, "Yammir, sorry for the embarrassnt today. I owe Young Master Ryan an apology."
Ryan quickly replied, "Young Master Gansler, you're too kind. I was the one who lost my temper."
"That just proves Brother Ryan is a straightforward person," Zaiden chid in, pointing at Yammir with a grin. "But in the future, you can learn from Yammir. This guy is a master of playing the long ga."
"He's all about that 'Song Jiang' strategy—humble and polite in person, giving you all the face you need."
Gansler chuckled and said, "And then he sends Li Kui to kill your whole family, right? That's definitely a practical approach."
Zaiden continued, "That was back in the day. Nowadays, arranging a car accident is so much easier…"
Yammir laughed and scolded, "Shut up, you idiot. I'm a law-abiding citizen. Don't drag into this nonsense."
Yammir called a driver to bring the car over, and Gansler saw everyone off, smiling and saying, "Young Master Ryan, don't worry. I guarantee that kid will say he fell on his own once he sobers up tomorrow."
"Thanks for the trouble!"
Ryan nodded and said, "Tomorrow, they'll co to look at furniture. I'll have to trouble you again, Young Master Gansler."
From wanting to kill soone earlier to now calmly discussing furniture purchases, it was clear Ryan didn't care about Anglian's fate at all.
Zaiden had another engagent and took a taxi to leave first. The rest got into Yammir's car.
Yammir sat in the passenger seat, squinting with a smile. "Brother Ryan, others might brag, but Gansler can definitely handle this. Even if Anglian's parents find out the truth, they won't be able to do anything."
Yammir and Gansler's families were old friends. At a certain level of wealth, people in the sa circle often collaborated on small business ventures.
Anglian's parents relied on Gansler's family for their livelihood, running a small factory and living comfortably.
Gansler's mother was the eldest in her family, and Anglian's parents always showed her and her husband great respect. Showing up drunk during a business eting was already inexcusable.
Anglian had been a spoiled and unruly brat since childhood, fearless and always causing trouble. If it weren't for Gansler's parents looking out for him, that small factory of his family's would have been ruined long ago.
This kid feared nothing and no one—except his cousin, Gansler. Gansler's authority over him was absolute, a kind of natural dominance.
Anglian had been disciplined by Gansler since he was young, and the most severe incident happened during their grandfather's birthday celebration. Anglian, drunk, had flipped tables and caused a scene.
That ti, he even injured a few elders, embarrassing the entire family in front of relatives and friends. It was a grand celebration, paid for by Gansler's parents, and Anglian's behavior was intolerable.
Gansler, with his fiery temper, couldn't stand it. He grabbed a baseball bat from his car, pinned down the drunk Anglian, and, in front of his parents, Anglian's parents, and all the relatives, broke one of Anglian's legs.
From that day on, Anglian feared Gansler even more.
"I was there that ti!" Yammir said with a smirk. "Don't let Gansler's gentle appearance fool you. When he acts, he doesn't hold back."
"So, let's put this matter to rest. You've vented your anger."
Yammir tried to smooth things over, saying, "But I have to say, brother, your habit of resorting to violence at the slightest provocation isn't good."
"We're at a certain level. That kind of trash isn't worth dirtying your hands."
His tone was full of disdain. Everyone has had monts of drunken mischief, but causing trouble knowing the status and influence of these people? That was pure stupidity.
Back in the city, Yana received a call. After a few acknowledgnts, she said sowhat sheepishly, "Ryan, my sister is waiting for at ho."
Her sister, Lily, spent every weekend with her, unable to sleep without her older sister by her side. Yana had essentially taken on a motherly role.
"You're going back tonight?" Lyla blinked her big eyes, smiling suggestively. "You only have one room at your place, so you two sleep together, right?"
