Chapter 672: Six hundred seventy, discussion Chapter 672: Six hundred seventy, discussion Zhang Xiaoling arrived at the factory and felt that she should definitely make a phone call to Luo Shu, telling her not to agree to let that Guo Moli enter the factory.

Picking up the phone on the desk, she dialed out, but the call went unanswered after ringing for a long ti.

After hearing the busy signal “Beep beep beep!” from the other end, Zhang Xiaoling didn’t give up and dialed again, only to receive no response, “Could Luo Shu have gone out?”

After trying three or four tis, Zhang Xiaoling finally gave up and put the phone down.

Not long after putting down the receiver, the phone suddenly rang.

Zhang Xiaoling reached for the phone, “Luo Shu.” The only people who knew her office number were Luo Shu and Yang Le, and since Yang Le was currently on a mission, it had to be Luo Shu.

There was another telephone in the factory, specifically for taking orders, located in the office next door, now handled by Zhou Yan. After observing her work, Zhang Xiaoling felt Zhou Yan was very capable and therefore promoted her to be the head of the business departnt, in charge of receiving orders and negotiating business. Zhou Yan’s performance was not only good, it was even better than expected.

“It’s , I’m back at the Guard District,” Yang Le’s voice ca through from the other end.

“You’re back! Was the mission successful?” Hearing that it was Yang Le, a joyful smile imdiately spread across Zhang Xiaoling’s face. She felt relieved now that he was back safe and sound.

“Very smooth, I’ll go to the town to buy so groceries later and we can celebrate together when you’re back,” Yang Le said with a laugh. He knew Xiao Ling would worry, so he made this call as soon as he finished his mission, to reassure her.

“I should go buy the groceries since I’m closer to town. You go ho and rest for a while, I’ll be back in the afternoon,” Zhang Xiaoling said. Yang Le must be tired after just completing his mission.

“I’m free today, so I’ll go. Aren’t you quite busy over there? I heard you’ve received several big orders, I’ll stop by the factory when I go out to buy groceries,” Yang Le said. This mission had truly been dangerous, he thought he might not return this ti. Now that he was back safe, he wanted to cherish his current life and the person he loved even more.

“Alright then! I’ll wait for you,” Zhang Xiaoling said sweetly with a smile.

After chatting with Yang Le for a while, Zhang Xiaoling reluctantly hung up the phone.

After so thought, she dialed Luo Shu’s ho number. Yang Le had returned, and Lu Hanmo must have as well, so perhaps Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo had gone out for a walk. If no one answered this ti, she would call again in the afternoon.

Luo Shu had just stepped out of her space and heard the incessant ringing of the phone on the desk.

She walked over and picked up the receiver.

“Is this Luo Shu?” Zhang Xiaoling’s voice ca from the other end.

“It’s ,” Luo Shu responded.

“Luo Shu, there’s sothing I need to tell you. A Squadron Leader Shen’s wife recently moved into our residential compound, and if she approaches you about working at our factory, please don’t agree,” Zhang Xiaoling said.

“Why?” Luo Shu raised her eyebrows, deliberately asking. She hadn’t expected that Guo Moli, who had only been in the Guard District for two days, had already managed to offend quite a few people.

“She ca to my house yesterday asking if our factory was hiring. When I said no, she threatened , and it was truly infuriating,” Zhang Xiaoling couldn’t help feeling angry as she recalled yesterday’s events.

“She lives next door to , so it seems a bit difficult to refuse her,” Luo Shu teased.

“She lives next door to you? Then why didn’t she look for you?” Zhang Xiaoling asked in surprise. Knowing that she managed the cake factory, Guo Moli must also have known that Luo Shu was the owner. It didn’t make sense for her to seek distant help rather than nearby assistance.

Luo Shu couldn’t help but laugh, “I’m just teasing you; she ca to you because I had already turned her down. But now she’s not in the mood to work at the factory.”

“What happened?” Zhang Xiaoling asked curiously.

“She attempted suicide, but she didn’t succeed,” Luo Shu said, frowning as she looked toward the sofa not far away. She had already thrown out the sofa cushion, but it still made her uncomfortable.

“What happened?” Zhang Xiaoling exclaid, shocked. Guo Moli did not seem like soone who would commit suicide.

“It’s probably because of a marital dispute. You’ll probably hear about it when you co back,” Luo Shu said. She didn’t want to talk much about such matters.

“Luo Shu, I have an idea, but I’m not sure if it’s feasible,” Zhang Xiaoling brought up her previous plan, eager to change the subject.

“Let’s hear it,” Luo Shu said with interest.

“I’ve been thinking about building a bathhouse in our factory. What do you think?” Zhang Xiaoling shared her idea, “Currently, we still have many unused spaces in our factory. Having a bathhouse would encourage workers to pay more attention to hygiene.”

“That’s a pretty good idea,” Luo Shu agreed. During this era, unlike later tis where nearly every household has a bathroom, many people had to go to public bathhouses to bathe.

“I want to create a small door in our backyard. If outsiders want to co in to take a bath, we could charge two dis per person, and that would generate another source of inco for us,” Zhang Xiaoling said excitedly. Public bathhouses were very popular. If people knew they could bathe at their factory, it was certain that many would co. The nearby towns didn’t have any public bathhouses, with only the city having them.

“Great! I’ll arrange for soone to handle it,” said Luo Shu, knowing that building a bathhouse required professionals. It wasn’t just about water, but also the boiler. The person operating the boiler had to have extensive experience and be extrely diligent with their work.

Boilers were dangerous, and a little negligence could lead to an explosion. There were nurous boiler explosion incidents in the future. Such matters couldn’t be taken lightly.

Hearing Luo Shu’s response, Zhang Xiaoling was overjoyed, “I’ll find soone to help us create a door in the backyard first.”

“Okay!” Luo Shu agreed with a smile.

“I have another idea that I’ve thought about for a long ti. Do you think I’m being annoying?” Zhang Xiaoling said, a bit sheepishly.

“Having ideas is good, go ahead.” One must have ideas to progress; staying in place ans getting left behind by society.

“It’s like this, the market has begun to see so products similar to ours. Although they are not as popular as ours, our current product range is too limited, and I fear that one day others will surpass us,” Zhang Xiaoling said, sharing her concerns. Perhaps she was worrying too much.
