Chapter 460: Four hundred fifty-nine, cook bear at Chapter 460: Four hundred fifty-nine, cook bear at Xia Mu ran up to Luo Shu and, upon seeing the black bear she was dragging behind her, his eyes widened in amazent, “Wow! That’s a huge black bear! Sister, you’re amazing! You even managed to catch a black bear.”
Luo Shu curled her lips into a smile, “It’s getting late, let’s head back.”
“Okay! I’ll help you drag it.” Xia Mu happily nodded, walked beside Luo Shu, reached out to grab the hemp rope, and together they dragged the black bear toward Xiaxia Village.
“Sister, are you an immortal?” Xia Mu looked at Luo Shu and asked. The more he thought about it, the more extraordinary Luo Shu seed to him. She could set up Formations, and she had caught such a large black bear—sothing that had never happened before in Xiaxia Village.
“No,” Luo Shu shook her head, a trace of desolation and sadness in her eyes. If she were an immortal, how could the person she loved have disappeared without a trace?
“Sister, what’s wrong? Did sothing happen?” Xia Mu asked worriedly. Ever since Luo Shu had woken up, although she always had a smile on her face, the sadness that seed to emanate from her bones was undeniable and impossible to hide.
Luo Shu shook her head, “Xia Mu, tomorrow we’ll go to the nearby town and sell these herbs and the black bear.”
Upon hearing this, Xia Mu jumped up excitedly, “Great! I’ve never been to town before.” She had always longed to visit the town, and now she finally had the chance.
By the ti they got ho, it was already very late, and most of the villagers had gone to bed.
Luo Shu went to the kitchen to grab a knife and began to process the black bear. Cutting it open would make it sell better in town the next day.
“Xia Mu, go boil this bear at,” Luo Shu said, pointing to the freshly cut pieces of black bear at.
Xia Mu hesitated as she looked at the bear at, “Sister, I’ve never cooked bear at before; I don’t know how to do it.” The only at she had ever eaten was fish. But fish and bear at were not the sa thing at all.
“Then do you know how to cut at?” Luo Shu asked with a light smile.
“Yes!” Xia Mu quickly nodded.
“Then you cut the at, and I’ll cook,” Luo Shu passed the knife in her hand to Xia Mu.
“Okay!” Xia Mu smiled and nodded, reaching out to take the knife from Luo Shu’s hand.
Luo Shu picked up a few pieces of bear at from the ground and walked into the kitchen. Before long, a delicious aroma that made one’s mouth water wafted out of the kitchen.
Xia Mu sniffed hard and swallowed forcefully, “It slls so good! Why does Sister’s cooking sll so delicious? I’m so hungry! I want to eat it so badly!” She had only had a bowl of porridge that morning and a few cakes throughout the day. Now famished, she found the scent unbearable!
As ti passed, the savory aroma from the kitchen grew stronger and stronger. Xia Mu had to hold her breath and try not to think about the fragrance, swiftly cutting the bear at on the chopping board. But the more she tried to resist, the less she succeeded.
The door to the next room suddenly opened, and a face as joyous as the Maitreya Buddha appeared, “Hey! Xia Mu! What are you cooking? The scent has woken up.”
No sooner had these words been spoken than another door opened. A middle-aged woman, swallowing her saliva, ca out, “It’s true. The sll is so delicious! I’m getting hungry just by slling it!” They usually had nothing much to cook and eat, perhaps catching a few fish in the creek or making so pancakes, but never before had they experienced such a aty aroma.
“Uncle Agen, Aunt Luo Xiang, Sister caught a black bear today, and she’s cooking bear at in the kitchen now!” Xia Mu said with a smile while cutting the at.
Bear at?! Uncle Agen and Aunt Luo Xiang’s eyes lit up at the sa ti, and they said with a chuckle, “Xia Mu, Uncle Agen has never tasted bear at at his old age. Could you let Uncle Agen have a taste?”
“I haven’t tasted it either. So at soup would be fine for ,” Aunt Luo Xiang said, rubbing her hands embarrassingly.
“Of course! Later on, you can co over with a bowl to fill up.” Since everyone was from the sa neighborhood, Xia Mu naturally wouldn’t be stingy.
“You’re such a generous kid, Uncle Agen hasn’t spoiled you for nothing.”
“Alright, then I’ll go back to the house and grab a bowl.” With that, the two of them went back to their houses to fetch bowls.
Luo Shu walked over to the earthen stove, lifted the lid of the pot, and imdiately, a drool-inducing, rich aroma wafted out.
“Xia Mu, it’s ti to wash up and eat,” Luo Shu called out to the outside.
No sooner had her voice faded than three shadows rushed in.
“Sister, this is Uncle Agen, and this is Aunt Luo Xiang; they’re both my neighbors.” Xia Mu introduced them to Luo Shu.
“Uncle Agen! Aunt Luo Xiang!” Luo Shu greeted them with a smile. She had naturally heard all their conversation outside and didn’t mind it in the slightest. Moreover, she had already planned to share so of the bear at with the villagers of Xiaxia Village the next morning.
“Young lady, the at you cooked slls so delicious, I couldn’t help but drool,” Uncle Agen said with an embarrassed smile.
“Indeed, I’ve never slled such a wonderful aroma before,” Aunt Luo Xiang agreed with a laugh.
“I’m glad you like it! I cooked a lot this ti, help yourselves,” Luo Shu said, stepping aside to make room for them.
“Oh, how could we impose! Please, you serve us.” The two of them said with embarrassed smiles.
“Alright!” Luo Shu smiled and took their bowls, placed them on the stove, and ladled three pieces of at and so soup into each bowl.
“That’s too much, young lady, you are really kind.”
“I just needed so at soup, that’s all, oh my! This is too much, you might not have enough to eat later.” Seeing how much at Luo Shu served them, both of them smiled broadly.
After the two left, Luo Shu and Xia Mu also served themselves so bear at and soup and began to eat with pancakes, sitting on small stools. For the past couple of days, they had been eating like this, sitting opposite each other, with a small stool in between, where they placed the food.
There was no helping it; Xia Mu’s house was just too poor, with nothing but a black, lusterless table inside, which was also missing a leg. Normally, Xia Mu on her own would just make do when eating, and never bothered to think about getting a table.
Xia Mu savored the soup contentedly and said, “Sister, let move the table from inside out here.” She had actually thought of this the night before but then had gone to Xiayou Valley, and when she ca back, she had forgotten all about it.
“It’s fine, let’s just eat like this,” Luo Shu said, not minding. After all, it was just a al, and she didn’t necessarily need to eat at a table.
