Chapter 304: Three hundred and three, roommate Chapter 304: Three hundred and three, roommate “I’m Xiao Yan.” The girl in a red plaid dress introduced herself first.

“Chen Xiaong.”

“Zhang Qi.”

“Liu ngyao.”

“Wang Fei.” Everyone took turns introducing themselves.

“I’m ng Yujuan, Luo Shu’s friend.” Seeing everyone looking at her, ng Yujuan awkwardly rubbed her hands together and quietly introduced herself. In front of strangers, she couldn’t control the involuntary display of her inferiority.

“I’m sorry about just now, I shouldn’t have said that.”

“I’m so sorry!” Zhang Qi and Wang Fei looked at ng Yujuan apologetically. They both ca from well-off families, where great emphasis was always placed on cultivating their inner qualities and deanor. The reason they had reacted that way was simply because they were too shocked.

Regarding Jinchen University, the coveted higher education institution everyone dread of, they had longed for it. They were even more curious about what kind of people their destined dormmates, who had also been accepted into Jinchen University, would be. From the day they moved into the dorm, they began to look forward to eting their first roommate: would they be cute, beautiful, kind, or perhaps elegant, aloof, ethereal?

As each roommate appeared before them, their anticipation for the next one grew. Especially when everyone had arrived except for the last one, the collective guessing and waiting felt infinitely wonderful.

The mont ng Yujuan appeared, it shattered all their fantasies in an instant, and that’s why they lost their composure. Under normal circumstances, they would have been most surprised by ng Yujuan’s appearance.

“It’s okay!” ng Yujuan waved her hands a bit flusteredly, almost overwheld. This was the first ti soone had apologized to her. She felt that since arriving at Jinchen University, everything began to change; she had made her first friend and soone had unexpectedly apologized to her.

Luo Shu was quite pleased with her roommates. It seed that Hanmo had gone to great lengths for her, which made her feel a sweet sensation inside.

“Luo Shu, where are you from?” Xiao Yan asked with a smile, looking at Luo Shu. She was genuinely interested in this new roommate who was perhaps too beautiful.

“Cloud City.” Luo Shu stepped forward, noticing that soone had already wiped her bed mat for her, and gave everyone a thankful smile.

“I have an aunt who married into Cloud City, so when I go there to visit her, I can visit you too,” Liu ngyao said happily.

“I’ve heard that the scenery in Cloud City is great, with especially a lot of mountains. I really want to go see.”

“Then let’s all go visit Luo Shu’s ho together next ti, Luo Shu, would you welco us?”

“Absolutely welco!” Luo Shu said with a nod and a smile. Although she wasn’t familiar with everyone yet, the feeling they gave her wasn’t bad.

“I want to go too,” ng Yujuan raised her hand.

“Great! We’ll go together after the winter holiday.”

“I’m from Mountain City, we have the sea there, and the seafood is the tastiest. When winter holiday cos, you can all co with to eat seafood.”

“My hotown is pretty nice too…”

The more they talked, the happier everyone beca, until their stomachs protested. Only when they checked the ti did they realize that it was already past two in the afternoon.

“It’s so late, the canteen must be closed by now, right?” Zhang Qi touched her protesting belly.

“Absolutely! I’m so hungry!” Liu ngyao weakly nodded. She hadn’t felt it until they ntioned it, but now her hunger seed even greater.

“Right, I have so cakes my mother made in my package, I’ll go get them for you,” ng Yujuan told everyone before opening the door and running out.

The others wanted to call back ng Yujuan, but she had already run out of sight.

ng Yujuan ran quickly, her steps much lighter than usual. She was truly happy today because Luo Shu’s roommates were all so kind to her. They didn’t shun her and were even willing to talk with her, saying they would hang out with her more in the future. It felt like a dream, and if it were a dream, she hoped it would never end.

Back in her dorm room, ng Yujuan took out her package from the closet and carefully removed a brown paper bag. Inside were the cakes her mother had specially made for her when she left ho, which she hadn’t had the heart to eat much of during the trip. But she was more than happy to share them with Luo Shu and the others because they were her friends.

Taking the brown paper bag, ng Yujuan dashed back outside.

“What’s up with ng Yujuan?”

“Who knows? Ugly people always act so weird.”

“Actually, she’s quite pitiful, hardly having any friends and being ostracized by us. If you guys did this to , I would be heartbroken.”

“Didn’t you see the smile on her face? She doesn’t know what being sad is!”

“Let’s drop it and get back to our earlier conversation.”

Of course, ng Yujuan knew nothing of her roommates’ discussions; she just felt full of energy and in very good spirits.

“Ah~” Just as ng Yujuan reached the second floor staircase, she bumped into a girl wearing a water-colored blouse paired with a white long skirt. She almost fell over but managed to stabilize herself by grabbing the stair railing in ti.

“Are you blind or what? Can’t you watch where you’re going?”

“You monstrosity, what are you even doing here?” the other two girls accompanying the first sneered and angrily berated ng Yujuan.

“I’m sorry!” ng Yujuan quickly apologized.

Noticing that her brown paper bag filled with cakes had fallen to the ground, she crouched down to pick it up.

But before she could reach it, a foot stamped on the bag and twisted it around several tis.

“My cakes!” ng Yujuan pushed the foot away and sadly picked up the now foot-printed brown paper bag.

Upon opening the bag, she saw the cakes had been crushed into crumbs. Her nose twitched, her eyes slowly reddened, but she held back her tears. These were the cakes her mother had made for her the night before she left ho, staying up all night.

Her family was poor, and they had sold the last two pigs they had to support her education. The flour used to make those cakes was bought with the money from selling those pigs.

She rembered sitting beside her mother that night, watching her gray-haired, wrinkled face illuminated by candlelight. Her mother’s expression had been focused and serious as her hands tirelessly worked the dough, as if to infuse all her worries, care, and advice into the cakes.

And now these cakes had been trampled, not just her cakes, but her heart, her very heart!
