Watching the guard truck drive away, everyone could only resign themselves to running forward.

"Let help you carry that." A boy ran up beside Lu Lanxi, pointing to the bag on her back.

"Aren’t you afraid of getting punished?" Lu Lanxi asked with a slight smile.

"You’re worth it." He had been observing her for a long ti. He felt that she was his ideal girl.

"But I don’t want to get punished." Lu Lanxi said, then started running forward. Since childhood, admirers always surrounded her. She had no choice but to maintain a deanor that kept people at a distance, thus earning the nickna "Ice Cold Beauty."

Boys aid to win her over, while girls kept their distance. So, until now, Lin Fenfang was her only friend.

She and Lin Fenfang were high school classmates. Initially, Lin Fenfang, like other girls, didn’t like getting too close to her.

Once, Lin Fenfang fainted during gym class, and it was Lan Xi who saved her. Since then, Lin Fenfang insisted on being friends with her.

Lu Lanxi wasn’t the first to reach the guard district. She didn’t want to stand out too much, so she chose a spot in the middle.

Hua Murong arrived before Lu Lanxi and was already surrounded by boys, like stars around the moon.

Seeing Lu Lanxi approaching, Hua Murong smiled at her.

Lu Lanxi gave a slight smile and walked to the side.

"I didn’t expect your stamina to be so good. By the way, I haven’t introduced myself yet. I’m Ling Xun." The sa boy from before spoke again.

Lu Lanxi seed to not have heard Ling Xun and nonchalantly took out a bottle of water from her bag and started drinking.

"Can you tell your na? We’ll be in the sa class in the future, so we’ll know each other’s nas sooner or later." Ling Xun persevered.

"Lu Lanxi." Lu Lanxi replied calmly and then ignored Ling Xun.

"It’s a nice na, similar to my sister’s. She’s called Ling Yanxi. She’s also studying at Jinchen University, but she’s in the foreign languages departnt." Ling Xun said with a smile. Knowing Lu Lanxi’s na was already a satisfaction for him. For a girl like Lu Lanxi, one had to use warmth to slowly lt her heart. He was prepared for a long-term effort. After all, he fell in love with her at first sight.

"I’ll introduce my sister to you in the future. You guys are sure to beco friends." Ling Xun continued talking to himself, confident in his charm. In high school, he was a prominent figure, excelling in both academics and sports. He was a skilled basketball player, representing the school in provincial competitions and even winning the title of "Most Outstanding Player."

Lu Lanxi glanced around the guard district. She had been here more than once because Uncle Mo, her father’s good friend, was the commander here. Her parents often brought her and her brother to visit Uncle Mo at the guard district.

"What are you looking at?" Ling Xun asked with a smile, seeing Lu Lanxi staring forward. Among the girls who had arrived, besides Hua Murong, Lu Lanxi was the most unique. To other girls, the guard district was like hell, but she seed intrigued. Given her ease after running five kiloters, the training here wouldn’t be much of a challenge for her.

Lu Lanxi withdrew her gaze and checked her watch. It was already eleven o’clock, but only half of the people had arrived.

The instructor and a guard mber ca to stand before the group, scanning them with a hint of satisfaction in his eyes, "You guys did great reaching the guard district within the allotted ti! Now, go to your dorms to put your luggage away and rest for a bit. Gather in the cafeteria at eleven-thirty."

"Yes, instructor!" everyone responded happily. Finally, they could go to their dorms; they were hot and tired, longing to lie in bed with the air conditioning on, eating ice cream and playing on their phones.

"Girls, follow . Boys, follow him," the instructor pointed to the guard mber beside him.

"Yes, instructor!"

Lu Lanxi and the other girls followed the instructor to the dormitory area of the guard district.

The instructor opened the door of one dormitory, "This is your dorm. Inside there are twenty beds. Choose your own." These dorms were generally assigned to new guards, each room having twenty beds. These students were here to experience the hardships of guards, not to enjoy luxury, so the living conditions wouldn’t be arranged too well for them.

Once inside the dorm, everyone started choosing their beds. Their class had only sixteen girls, and only nine had arrived at the guard district, so they had plenty of choices.

Lu Lanxi chose the third bed and put her bag on the cabinet by the head of the bed. She had everything she needed in her space, so no matter where she went, she didn’t need much luggage, just a small backpack was enough.

"Give this bed; you can choose another one." A sowhat rough voice sounded next to Lu Lanxi.

Lu Lanxi frowned, turning her head to see a sturdy, tall girl looking at her with a sneer.

"Don’t make trouble when there’s nothing wrong. You’re not my opponent." Lu Lanxi said calmly. She hated it when people caused unnecessary trouble.

"Well, well! Seems like I underestimated you. Co on, let see how tough you are." The tall girl said mockingly. She was causing trouble for Lu Lanxi because she had long liked her crush, Ling Xun, who had been talking to Lu Lanxi.

She rembered the first ti she saw Ling Xun during middle school. His tall stature on the basketball court stood out, especially when he dunked, making her heart uncontrollably excited. She vowed to keep him hers, preventing other girls from getting him.

Ling Xun excelled academically, and she studied hard to get into the sa school as him. Heaven rewarded her efforts, and they were accepted into the sa high school and now the sa university. But today, she saw her crush talking to another girl, and that she couldn’t tolerate. Therefore, she had to show this girl so strength so she’d know that Ling Xun was hers and not soone she could claim.
