After consulting with the Dragon Queen, Luo Shu chose a direction. "Let’s head this way," she said.
"Luo Shu, have you been to the Ti Prairie before?" Ye Lifeng asked, glancing at her. Luo Shu seed unusually familiar with this place.
Luo Shu shook her head with a smile. "A friend of mine has been here before. What I know about this place is what she told ." Thousands of years ago, the Dragon Queen and the Dragon King had co here to train. During their journey, they discovered quite a number of Ti Stones.
According to the Dragon Queen, Ti Stones are ford because the Ti Whirlpool drains cultivators’ lifespans. For every cultivator whose lifespan is taken by the Ti Whirlpool, a new Ti Stone appears on the Ti Prairie. In other words, cultivating with Ti Stones is essentially using soone else’s lifespan.
"No wonder you could find such a concealed entrance," Ye Lifeng said with a look of sudden realization.
"Where are we headed now?" Xiao Yao looked at Luo Shu.
"To the Domain of Ti. That’s where we can find Ti Stones," Luo Shu replied. The Ti Prairie is divided into four regions, and the most dangerous among them is the Domain of Ti. But it’s also the place with the greatest opportunity.
Besides the Ti Stones, the Domain of Ti also contains the Heart of Ti. If one is lucky, they might even comprehend the Ti Law there.
The Ti Law is a Great Divine Power. Once comprehended, it allows one to halt ti at will. Though the pause wouldn’t last long, even a brief montary halt of one or two breaths could grant a chance to escape from a more powerful foe.
Three days later, Luo Shu and her group arrived at a stretch of barren black earth. Nothing grew there, making it starkly different from the rest of the lush and overgrown prairie. It seed almost like it didn’t belong.
"This area is so strange. Not even a blade of grass grows here," Xiao Yao remarked, scanning his surroundings with a puzzled expression.
"We’ve now entered the Domain of Ti’s territory," Luo Shu explained. "Here, in addition to Ti Whirlpools, there are also Ti Circles. The lack of vegetation is because of the Ti Circles. Wherever a Ti Circle passes, everything except the earth itself is instantly reduced to ash."
As she spoke, a faint golden light wheel suddenly swept rapidly in their direction.
"Everyone, dodge quickly!" Lu Hanmo exclaid as he spotted the light wheel. Without hesitation, he scooped up Luo Shu and sidestepped swiftly.
Yun Han and the other two reacted promptly as well, all darting away in different directions.
The Ti Circle flashed past them like lightning and quickly disappeared into the distance.
"The aura emitted by the Ti Circle is terrifying—it even carries a kind of stagnation effect. If we hadn’t moved fast enough, we might’ve been immobilized by it," Ye Lifeng said, still shaken. At the mont he felt that stagnation, he had beco montarily paralyzed. If his reaction had been slower, he truly would’ve been reduced to ash by the Ti Circle.
"I felt a mont of stagnation too," Yun Han nodded and agreed.
"We’re only on the outskirts of the Domain of Ti right now. Once we go further in, the Ti Circles and Ti Whirlpools will beco even more frequent. Everyone must stay constantly vigilant and never let your guard down," Luo Shu warned solemnly.
"We will," the group nodded in unison.
Continuing forward, it wasn’t long before Luo Shu’s group encountered four or five young n and won dressed in identical attire up ahead.
They were cautiously advancing, their eyes warily scanning their surroundings.
A sudden Ti Whirlpool appeared, skimming past one of the won in the group. Although her reflexes were quick and she dodged in ti, a lock of her hair rose and grazed the edge of the Ti Whirlpool.
In the next mont, that lock of hair turned silvery white.
"These Ti Whirlpools truly are terrifying!" Yun Han remarked, furrowing his brow.
"Her appearance hasn’t changed," Ye Lifeng observed with surprise as the woman turned her head.
"She dodged quickly. Only part of her lifespan was taken," Luo Shu explained.
The female cultivator cast a quick glance at Luo Shu’s group before turning her attention back to her silver-white hair, frowning slightly.
"Junior Sister Xue, are you alright?" a handso male cultivator nearby asked with concern.
"I’m fine," the female cultivator replied with a shake of her head, catching up to her companions, her expression growing even more vigilant.
The group continued forward. Though they noticed Luo Shu and her companions following behind them, the dangers of the environnt kept them too preoccupied to worry about who their followers might be.
With their strong Divine Sense, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo could detect incoming Ti Whirlpools and Ti Circles in advance and warn Yun Han and the others. Although their progress was slow, they managed to avoid any major incidents.
As they ventured deeper into the Domain of Ti, the Ti Circles and Ti Whirlpools grew increasingly dense.
A male cultivator from the group ahead couldn’t dodge in ti and was swept up by a Ti Whirlpool. Before their very eyes, his lifespan was rapidly drained. His once handso face turned withered and aged in an instant. His hair turned silvery white, and within monts he had beco an elderly man in his seventies or eighties.
"Senior Brother Liu!" his companions cried out in alarm, panic etched across their faces.
"This place is horrifying! I don’t want to go any further. I want to leave!" one of the won broke down, sobbing uncontrollably at the sight of her companion’s transformation.
"Junior Sister Situ, compose yourself. We can’t afford to lose focus, or we’ll end up just like Senior Brother Liu, having our lifespans stolen," the woman who had earlier lost part of her own lifespan urged.
"Senior Sister Xue, let’s leave. I don’t want to stay here anymore," Situ Pinger wept. Once the thought of retreat entered her mind, she found herself unable to muster the courage to go on.
Xue Mo glanced at Liu Heshan, hesitation flickering in her gaze. They had co so far. If they turned back now, all their efforts would be for nothing. But if they pressed on, they risked ending up like Senior Brother Liu—or worse.
"Junior Sister Situ, don’t panic. As long as we’re cautious, we’ll be fine," a long-faced male cultivator said in a soothing tone.
"No! I’m leaving!" Situ Pinger cried, turning and running in the direction they had co from.
"Junior Sister Situ, it’s dangerous! Be careful!" her companions called, trying to pull her back. But the density of Ti Whirlpools and Ti Circles prevented them from getting close.
Just a few steps into her retreat, a Ti Circle flashed beneath Situ Pinger’s feet. As it passed, her figure vanished completely.
"Junior Sister Situ!" her companions shouted, their fear of the Ti Circles growing even more intense.
Yet they knew now was not the ti to grieve. Suppressing their sorrow, they pressed on. Having co this far, giving up wasn’t an option.
Perhaps it was their growing fear that dulled their reflexes. As they moved forward, more individuals fell victim to the Ti Whirlpools and Ti Circles. In the end, only Xue Mo remained, struggling onward with sheer determination.
