Mu Shaoze reflected on the three points Fu Shiyan had ntioned and found them quite reasonable.

He started the car and headed to the maternity and baby store.

Just about to get out, he realized he was still wearing hospital clothes.

As a first-ti dad visiting the maternity store, this image was truly unsightly.

He turned the car around and went to the mall first to wash his face and hands in the restroom then he outfitted himself in the n’s boutique section, from shirt, suit, tie to leather shoes.

Looking at himself in the mirror clad in a suit and shoes, he seed a completely different person from when he wore the hospital clothes, embodying a confident, professional deanor.

Actually, he was used to being casual and didn’t like dressing up, but to make a good impression on the Zhou family, he had to suppress his more carefree nature.

He adjusted his cufflinks, paid, and left.

Arriving at the maternity store, the clerk saw Mu Shaoze’s expensive attire and her eyes shone.

"Sir, what do you need?"

Mu Shaoze gave a slight nod, "I need to buy so maternity items and so nutritional products."

The clerk quickly introduced, "Pregnant won need to supplent folic acid until three months to prevent neural tube defects. During the second trister, they need to take an appropriate amount of DHA, which benefits the fetal nervous system, visual developnt, and the baby’s intelligence and health. We also have maternal milk powder that supplents trace elents."

Mu Shaoze, sensitive to numbers and letters and adept at programming, found this information completely foreign.

He frowned tightly, "Then just bring everything, enough for the whole pregnancy period."

The clerk asked, "How many weeks pregnant is your wife?"

How many weeks?

Mu Shaoze thought, it had been three weeks since they last had intercourse.

The clerk reminded, "It’s calculated from the last nstrual period."

Mu Shaoze had no idea when Zhou Ziqiao’s last nstrual period was, he said, "It was three weeks ago, when we last did it."

The clerk blushed imdiately—was this sothing she needed to know?

She calculated, "Then it’s probably five or six weeks, I’ll prepare the products for you now. Our other staff will introduce you to the items needed for pregnant won and the baby, and you can see if there’s anything else you need."

Mu Shaoze nodded and started looking over the maternity items with another clerk.

Soon, his shopping basket was full.

From anti-radiation clothing, maternity bras, panties, leggings, shoes, maternity clothes to stretch mark oil.

Mu Shaoze then visited the baby section and found the tiny clothes, pants, and socks adorable.

He had shopped for Anan and Yanyan before, but that was five years ago, and the mories were sowhat blurred.

Seeing all these now, those blurred mories ca flooding back.

Not knowing whether it was a boy or a girl, he bought pink, blue, and yellow clothes and pants.

At checkout, he spent nearly two hundred thousand.

Mu Shaoze carried two large bags, feeling a profound sense of accomplishnt.

He got in his car and drove to the Zhou Family Manor.

He stood in front of the gate and called Father Zhou.

Father Zhou picked up and hung up imdiately after knowing it was him.

Mu Shaoze, feeling helpless, then called Mother Zhou who didn’t answer at all.

Although he felt powerless, he wasn’t disheartened.

Believing in the adage that perseverance will prevail, he believed that day would co.

He had an apartnt in Bogelin State, which Zhou Ziqiao had asked him to buy for convenience when visiting.

The interior was decorated in a black and white minimalist style, but one room was designed in a princess style.

Zhou Ziqiao purportedly designed it for his future girlfriend, but he now realized she probably ant it for herself.

Initially, he didn’t think much about it, simply feeling if she liked living there, she could, without specifically saving it for anyone.

Now, understanding his feelings clearly, that room was ant for Zhou Ziqiao.

Mu Shaoze brought the bags from the maternity store upstairs and placed them in that room.

He took off his suit jacket and casually threw it on the bed before collapsing back.

Gazing at the pale pink ceiling, his heart felt moist.

He regretted deeply—if he had noticed any signs in the past five years, truly paid attention, he wouldn’t now be in this predicant, akin to a funeral march chasing his wife, when he should have been holding his wife, telling stories for prenatal education to their unborn child.

He envied Old Dog Fu, who back then always held stacks of storybooks, planning to tell them to the baby in An Yan’s belly.

He had thought such simple matters would be unreachable for him.

His eyes began to moisten, then he covered them with a hand.

After a long while, he sat up.

Looking around, the curtains, bed sheets, duvet cover, pillows, vanity, carpet, low chest—all were pink.

Zhou Ziqiao, in his eyes, always seed very masculine, often wearing black, white, gray, expertly concealing her true self.

Mu Shaoze sighed deeply, realizing she had sacrificed too much to be close to him.

He looked at the Lucky Star-filled bottle on the dressing table, got up, and picked it up.

There were stars of various colors inside. He shined a light on them and noticed that there seed to be sothing inside the light yellow ones.

He set the Lucky Star bottle on the table, twisted off the cap, and took out the stars.

Holding one in his hand under the light, he carefully looked and saw what appeared to be dark traces inside.

Unfolding it, a star turned into a crinkly, long strip of paper.

There was a line of delicate handwriting on it.

"Shaoze, I like you. When will you like too?"

Mu Shaoze unfolded the remaining stars.

"I’m so happy today. You bought the first cup of milk tea of the autumn. It was super tasty. I hope we can do this every year."

"I saw you’re preparing to go to country B. I’m coming to find you!"

"I made a wish under the Bodhi tree today. I hope it cos true."

"The feeling of lying on your back is so nice. It was totally worth spraining my ankle."

...

These stars recorded all of Zhou Ziqiao’s feelings.

After Mu Shaoze had read them all, he felt deeply shocked. Zhou Ziqiao’s love for him was really profound.

He had been teased too lightly.

He imdiately took out his phone and unblocked Zhou Ziqiao.

He composed a ssage.

"Ziqiao, feel free to tease as hard as you can!"

"Ziqiao can tease a thousand tis, and I’ll treat Ziqiao like I’m madly in love!"

"Ziqiao, Ziqiao, look at , a cute guy acting coy!"

"Ziqiao, I’m in our love nest, waiting for you."

...

At that mont, Zhou Ziqiao ca out of the bathroom, ready to lie down in bed for a nap.

A series of ssages ca through on her phone.

She glanced and saw these cheeky ssages were indeed from Mu Shaoze.

She frowned. Could it be that he was possessed by a ghost?

What kind of gas did he still want to play?

Mu Shaoze was best at playing with people, and today she was genuinely angry.

So he was just confident she would soften her heart!

Zhou Ziqiao blocked him again and turned off her phone to sleep.

The blocked person: "..."

The next day, Mu Shaoze arrived early at the Zhou Family Manor.

He leaned against the car door, looking inward.

Inside the villa, Father Zhou received a call from the security room, saying that Mu Shaoze was outside the intricately carved gate.

He grunted, "Then let him keep waiting."

Mother Zhou and Zhou Ziqiao ca downstairs, and Father Zhou approached, "Can we reschedule today’s appointnt for tomorrow?"

Zhou Ziqiao was puzzled, "What’s wrong?"

Father Zhou seriously said, "I checked the almanac, today is not a good day to go out; it’s easy to encounter villains."

Zhou Ziqiao smiled faintly, "What era are we in to still believe that?"

Father Zhou stopped the two won, "Better to believe it than not. Call the hospital, go tomorrow."

Zhou Ziqiao asked, "Is it because Mu Shaoze is outside?"

Father Zhou nodded, and Zhou Ziqiao said, "Then I’ll call the hospital now, and we’ll go in the morning."

Unbeknownst to Mu Shaoze, he kept waiting here, eating self-heating als when hungry and drinking mineral water when thirsty.

He had clearly found out that Zhou Ziqiao had a hospital appointnt today, but she hadn’t gone.

Later, he thought about it, checked again, and found she had rescheduled it for the next day. It was evident she was avoiding him.

He continued to bombard Zhou Ziqiao with cheeky ssages.

Finally, Zhou Ziqiao couldn’t stand it anymore and replied.

"You’ve been here all day, don’t you need to use the restroom?"

Mu Shaoze saw the reply, his eyes lit up with joy.

"I’m wearing a diaper!"
