The caller was none other than Zhuo An.

As An Yan listened to her speak, she was certain in her heart that this Moon must be soone they knew and who had a grudge against them.

She lowered her gaze, finding the situation interesting now.

Listening to Zhuo An hum a tune as she walked towards the door, then the sound of the door closing.

An Yan put on her cap and mask and walked out of the cubicle with a paper bag in hand, leaving the venue.

Upon leaving the convention center, she saw a tall figure and two small ones standing by the car door, all dressed in black tracksuits and also wearing caps and masks, looking cool and dashing.

The two little ones saw An Yan coming down the stairs and rushed up to her.

Each one clung to one of her legs.

Fu Mu’an asked, "Mommy, did you like the surprise Daddy gave you last night?"

An Yan raised her eyebrows, "You knew?"

Fu Mu’an nodded, "I knew a little, but what surprise did Daddy give you?"

"A room full of roses, does that count?"

Behind his mask, Fu Mu’an’s small face bead with a smile, "Of course, it counts! I heard Daddy ordering flowers over the phone, but I was just testing it out. Just in case there wasn’t any surprise or flowers last night, it would have ant Daddy gave them to soone else."

An Yan gently tapped the brim of his cap, "And what would you do if he really had given them to soone else?"

Fu Mu’an was quite serious, "I would definitely not want that Daddy, from then on in the world only Mommy would be good."

An Yan couldn’t help but laugh, "You’re the cleverest."

Fu Mu’an looked at Fu Jinyan, "The cleverest would have to be Yanyan. Last night he had already looked up what happens when one spouse cheats during a marriage."

Fu Shiyan strode over, his hand on Fu Jinyan’s shoulder, "And what happens then?"

Fu Jinyan giggled, "Let’s talk in the car. It’s kind of private."

An Yan and Fu Shiyan shared a smile, their two precious sons were simply too adorable.

Once in the car, the two little ones buckled their seatbelts.

Fu Shiyan helped An Yan with her seatbelt, started the car, and turned the steering wheel.

"So, tell , I’m curious to hear what you guys have planned."

Fu Jinyan took off his mask, "Daddy, you can’t get mad at what I’m going to say, okay?"

Fu Shiyan glanced at him through the rearview mirror and humd affirmatively, "Don’t worry, I promise I won’t get mad."

"Here I go then!" Fu Jinyan cleared his throat pompously, "If Daddy cheated, my brother and I would testify to prove that Daddy cheated, and Daddy would have to leave with nothing. But if Mommy cheated, my brother and I think Mommy has had it tough for these past five years, so even if she did cheat, it would be forgivable."

Fu Shiyan: "..." Are these really my obedient sons?

o(╥﹏╥)o

Looking at Fu Shiyan’s darkened face, An Yan almost died of laughter.

She turned back to the two little ones, "My precious little ones, Mommy loves you so much. How can you be this wonderful?"

Fu Shiyan coughed lightly, "That’s a bit of a double standard, you know."

An Yan laughed heartily, "But I really like this kind of double standard! Tonight, whatever you want to eat, Mommy will buy it for you."

The two little ones excitedly cheered.

To soothe soone’s wounded soul, An Yan caressed the man’s pinky, "Behave, and I’ll buy for you too."

Fu Shiyan laughed out loud, "Anything at all?"

An Yan raised her eyebrows slightly, "As long as they sell it, I’ll buy it for you."

"And what if they don’t sell it?" Fu Shiyan’s eyes grew deeper.

"Then I’ll do my best to make it for you to eat."

Fu Shiyan’s lips curved into a triumphant smile, "A word once out, the fleetest courser it cannot overtake."

Fu Jinyan looked at Fu Mu’an with a sigh, "Ah, Dad’s jokes are so cold, you can tell he doesn’t surf the net often."

Fu Mu’an nodded, "It seems we need to educate him more in the future, otherwise he’ll never catch up to our old baby grandpa."

Fu Shiyan: "..."

An Yan: "..."

Halfway through the drive, An Yan’s phone wouldn’t stop vibrating.

She picked it up to see it was Mu Shaoze.

She answered.

"Fourth Brother?"

"Did you go out?"

"We are planning to hit the night market, taking Anan and Yanyan for a stroll. Is there anything you’d like to eat? I’ll bring sothing back for you?"

"No need, I’ll co to you."

Before An Yan could say anything, the other party hung up the phone.

Fu Shiyan asked, "Mu Shaoze?"

An Yan gave a light hum, "He suddenly asked if we were out and then said he’d co over."

Fu Shiyan chuckled, "Do you have Zhou Ziqiao’s Monts, or access to her updates on any other social platforms?"

"Yes."

"Then check if she has posted anything recently?"

An Yan looked at her WeChat Monts; she had just posted a set of photos five minutes ago, featuring grilled squid at the night market.

She instantly understood that Mu Shaoze was not coming for them but clearly for Zhou Ziqiao.

She found it amusing, looking forward to watching his burial-at-sea of pursuing his wife, and it seed it was about to unfold.

Indeed, considering Zhou Ziqiao’s personality, winning her back would probably take so effort.

However, An Yan didn’t feel a bit sorry for Mu Shaoze.

After all, he had hurt Zhou Ziqiao deeply.

The car stopped about three hundred ters from the night market, as leaving later would be difficult.

An Yan and Fu Shiyan walked into the night market with the two little ones.

Most of the visitors at the night market were college students from Jiangcheng.

An Yan had been here once with Fu Shiyan before.

At that ti, they had bought kebabs and tried stir-fried ice fruit. On the way back, her period ca, and Fu Shiyan rushed her ho at sprint speed, later buying her sanitary pads and making her brown sugar water.

After Fu Shiyan went missing, she would co to the night market every year on that day, eating kebabs and stir-fried ice fruit.

But when she went ho, Fu Shiyan wasn’t there to accompany her.

When her period ca, there was also no Fu Shiyan to buy her sanitary pads or make her brown sugar water.

Today, not only An Yan and Fu Shiyan ca, but they also brought the two little ones.

Fu Shiyan lifted the two little ones, "What do you want to eat?"

Fu Mu’an whispered, "Every year, on the fixed day, Mom would co here, but she never brought Yanyan and ."

Fu Jinyan nodded, "Grandma said, Mom missed Dad."

Fu Shiyan’s heart tightened as he looked at An Yan buying grilled squid, his lips forming a straight line.

When An Yan ca back with four skewers of grilled squid, she saw the man’s gaze was heavy, with a hint of redness. She asked, "What’s wrong?"

Fu Shiyan put the little ones down and stepped forward, embracing An Yan, "Yanyan."

"I’m here," An Yan said, a little disoriented holding the grilled squid, "Why so serious?"

"I’m here too, and from now on, every year on that day, I’ll co with you."

An Yan glanced at the two little ones, who were covering their mouths and giggling.

Two little rascals!

"All right, let’s eat before it gets cold and loses its taste."

Fu Shiyan let her go, took the skewers from her hands, kept one for An Yan, divided three among the little ones, and kept one for himself.

He looked at An Yan and extended his skewer, "Co on, let’s have a toast with skewers."

An Yan laughed, "Is that a thing?"

"Of course!"

The two touched their skewers and started eating after pulling down their masks.

The two little ones walked ahead, munching as they went.

Fu Mu’an said, "All n are pigs’ trotters, you have to tell them how much a woman has sacrificed for them, or else they will never know and learn to treasure it."

Fu Jinyan agreed, "So far, Dad seems alright, but we still need to keep evaluating. Yikes! I see the real pig’s trotter now!"

Fu Mu’an followed the direction of Fu Jinyan’s little finger, and there was Mu Shaoze, frowning as he approached them.
