Fu Jinqiao hung up the phone and then lay on her pillow, sobbing uncontrollably.

After she had cried enough, she got up and went to the bathroom to wash her face.

Looking in the mirror at her walnut-like swollen eyes, she propped herself up with her hands, "I can’t cry, I can’t cry. My eyes are the only thing bigger than hers on my body. If I can’t even beat her at that, then there’s nothing I’ve got over her."

She looked down at herself and pouted, "He even said he doesn’t like big boobs, what a liar! He sucked so hard he left marks! Hmph! I don’t wish him well at all! I hope he can’t get it up and becos infertile!"

She felt relieved saying it out loud, but her heart was still aggrieved.

She took a roll of tissues back to bed and continued to cry.

The night was long.

In the next room, Zhou Yi seed to hear the wailing of ghosts and howls of wolves.

She snuggled up close to Fu Haichuan, still trembling a bit.

Fu Haichuan woke up startled, "What’s wrong, my dear?"

"I think I heard a ghost crying." Zhou Yi held onto his waist.

Fu Haichuan suffered from intermittent deafness, and it happened to be one of those monts, "What did you say?"

Zhou Yi glared at him, "I said I heard a ghost crying!"

"What crying?"

"A ghost! A ghost!"

Fu Haichuan laughed, "A ghost, huh? Don’t be scared, just be deaf like and you’ll be fine."

Zhou Yi: "..."

The next day.

Fu Shiyan ca to the Mu Family’s house to pick up An Yan, his face cold as he looked at Mu Qianfan and Ji Yunran.

Mu Qianfan mocked him scornfully, "Haven’t you already left? Why are you back again?"

Fu Shiyan glared at him coldly, "Do you think I would co if I wasn’t here to pick up Yanyan?"

An Yan, holding the stair railing, ca downstairs and looked at Mu Qianfan, "Third Brother, Jinqiao is flying to Country A today, I’m going to the airport to see her off."

Mu Qianfan was stunned for a mont, "Then I wish her a safe journey."

Fu Shiyan snorted coldly and walked out.

An Yan smiled lightly, "I think she probably doesn’t want to hear your blessing, so I won’t pass it on for you." She then followed Fu Shiyan’s steps.

Ji Yunran sighed softly, "Qianfan, if it weren’t for showing up..."

Mu Qianfan looked into her eyes with deep affection, "Stop blaming yourself. It’s just that I fell in love with you."

Ji Yunran looked at his thin lips; Mu Qianfan slowly moved closer.

Xu Wanqing ca over, "Young people are passionate and impulsive, but you should also be mindful of the occasion. Qianfan, you’re a few years older than Yunran and should know to be discreet."

Mu Qianfan nodded, "I understand; I didn’t control myself well."

She humd in acknowledgnt and looked at Ji Yunran, "Yunran, co help make so desserts."

Ji Yunran, obediently stepping forward, linked arms with Xu Wanqing, "Sure, I’ll co with you."

Xu Wanqing paused, "Qianfan, I rember we only have one box of cream left at ho, go buy five boxes more."

Mu Qianfan nodded, "Alright, I’ll go now."

Ji Yunran watched Mu Qianfan’s retreating figure thoughtfully.

Xu Wanqing noticed her, "You don’t think Qianfan is also going to see off Jinqiao, do you?"

Ji Yunran’s concerns were seen through, but she managed her facial expressions well, "No, I wasn’t thinking that."

Xu Wanqing sighed softly, "He won’t go. If he still harbored feelings for Jinqiao, what would there be for you? I don’t understand how his heart changed so quickly, but I do know he never promised to marry Jinqiao. So you are special, and we, the Mu Family, are also willing to accept you."

Ji Yunran, arm in arm with her, walked into the kitchen, "Auntie, I will take good care of Qianfan and you."

Xu Wanqing smiled and then sighed again, "I once had a foster daughter who also said she’d take good care of ."

Ji Yunran feigned curiosity, "What about that foster daughter now?"

Xu Wanqing shook her head, "She promised to take good care of but nearly ended up killing . We, the Mu Family, treated her as our own, yet she repaid kindness with ingratitude. Let’s not talk about her anymore. You and Qianfan take care of each other, and I will treat you like my own daughter."

Ji Yunran nodded sincerely, "Auntie, I will wholeheartedly take care of you and everyone in the Mu Family."

Xu Wanqing humd indifferently, "I’ve heard about your family situation from Qianfan. One of these days, I’ll have Qianfan invite your parents over to talk about the wedding."

"Okay." Ji Yunran lowered her gaze; she hadn’t expected things to go this smoothly.

Indeed, Duan Song was much stronger than Gu Han.

Mu Qianfan got in the car and headed to the supermarket after noticing a car following him in the rearview mirror.

He really wanted to go to the airport, but he couldn’t now.

Pretending not to notice, he went fully prepared into the supermarket, bought five boxes of cream, and picked up so chocolates, chips, and other snacks on a whim.

After paying, he left the supermarket and returned to the Mu Family’s ho.

He parked the car outside the villa when An Yan sent him a video call.

His heart beat wildly as he answered, and on the screen was his little girl.

Her eyes were very swollen; it was obvious she had cried a lot.

She sniffled and said to An Yan, "An Yan, I’m leaving, but I’ll co back to see you when you have your baby. Even though I can’t be your sister-in-law anymore, I can still be your niece. I’m going to miss you and your younger uncle."

"We’re going to miss you too," An Yan asked, "Jinqiao, do you have any ssage to pass on to Shiyan?"

Mu Qianfan gripped his phone tightly, his lips pressed firmly together.

He wanted to know if his little girl would leave him any last words.

After a long wait, Fu Jinqiao finally squeezed out a sentence, "I’ve thought it over. That stick was a waste for him to use; he might as well scrape with his fingertips."

An Yan was utterly confused, "Just, this sentence?"

Fu Jinqiao took a deep breath, "Mhm, that’s it. I’m off, goodbye."

She carried her suitcase through the security check, then waved to Fu Shiyan and An Yan, quickly vanishing from sight.

Of course, Mu Qianfan saw this scene too.

He tilted his head back slightly, trying to keep the tears from falling.

What sins had he committed in a past life to deserve playing the scoundrel this ti around, breaking a girl’s heart, and then enduring an excruciating chase to win back his wife?

He felt quite annoyed and blurted out, "Old Dog Fu! Why didn’t you let her leave on a private jet?"

Fu Shiyan held his phone and t his gaze, "You better be polite to , otherwise I’ll make these baseless rumors co true."

Mu Qianfan’s mouth twitched violently, "You’re taking advantage of the situation!"

Fu Shiyan was quite smug, "Call ’younger uncle’ just like Jinqiao does, and I’ll help you out."

Mu Qianfan glared at him, "Fu Shiyan, you’re a real dog!"

The video call was cut off, and Fu Shiyan handed the phone back to An Yan, "Jinqiao has liked him for so many years, it’s not too much to let him chase her a bit, right?"

An Yan clicked her tongue, "You’re really quite scheming."

"Scheming? I’ve got rock-hard abs, don’t believe ? Feel them."

An Yan gave him a sideways look, "There you go again!"

Fu Shiyan teased her, "What am I starting again?"

"Just play dumb, you."

Fu Shiyan wrapped his arms around her, "Today after we finish the ultrasound and fetal heart monitoring, I’ll take you to buy so of your favorite snacks."

"You’re actually letting have snacks?"

Fu Shiyan laughed, "Anyway, it’s almost ti to offload the cargo, having carried the two little ones for so long, you deserve a treat."

An Yan smiled with pursed lips, "Husband, you’re so good to ."

"Later, three n will love you together, even better," Fu Shiyan kissed the top of her hair, opened the car door, and helped her get in.

The two went to the hospital for a check-up, and both babies were very healthy, weighing around five and a half pounds each.

The doctor said it was normally eight weeks and three days until the due date, and the babies would grow quickly in the latter stage, each likely reaching about six and a half pounds at birth.

With the good results from the check-up, both Fu Shiyan and An Yan were relieved.

They went to the supermarket to buy An Yan’s favorite snacks, and in the end, she stood in front of the freezer, staring blankly at tubs of ice cream.

Fu Shiyan, knowing she was tempted, negotiated, "That big tub is too much, how about I go buy a cone instead?"

An Yan blinked her eyes, "I want to try the mango flavor as well as the chocolate one."

"That can be arranged."

An Yan felt like Fu Shiyan was bestowing a favor on her.

She followed him excitedly to an ice cream shop.

Fu Shiyan bought two cones, one chocolate-flavored and one mango-flavored.

Just as An Yan was about to take them, she saw Fu Shiyan bite a big chunk out of each cone.

An Yan: "...Are you giving your leftovers?"

Fu Shiyan handed them over with a laugh, enclosing her in his arms as they left.

Once in the car, he looked at An Yan’s huffy little face, "What’s wrong, you dislike ?"

"Yeah, I totally do!"

Fu Shiyan tilted his head and smiled, "Tastes better than lollipops."

An Yan’s face turned red in an instant, wanting to smash the cone on his face, "Fu Shiyan, you old rascal!"

"Eat up, otherwise it will lt."

An Yan was furious, really, what an old charr!

Fu Shiyan watched her huffily eating the ice cream, and couldn’t stop the corners of his lips from curling up.

He dropped her off at the Mu Family’s place and then left, after all, he and Mu Qianfan had to be at odds with each other.

An Yan narrowed her eyes, it seed she needed to speed things up so Ji Yunran would act sooner.

At night, the family gathered around the table for dinner.

An Yan looked at Mu Qianfan, "Third brother, I rember you said you often suffer from insomnia. I know a master of psychology, he’s top-level in the industry. Do you want to make an appointnt for you?"

Mu Qianfan laughed, "No need, Yunran introduced to a master, and I’ve been feeling very good recently."

An Yan asked Ji Yunran, "So, what’s the na of this master?"
