An Yan stepped forward, bent down to examine Fu Haichuan, and pulled back his eyelid.

"Your eyelid is so tight. Are you nervous?"

She slightly curved her lips, placed her hand on the old man’s wrist, and whispered with a click, "You are gravely ill."

The person in the bed didn’t move an inch.

An Yan stood up and turned back to look at Zhou Yi, "Grandmother."

Zhou Yi stood up, "Why still call grandmother? Isn’t that a mismatch of our relation?"

An Yan, sowhat embarrassed, corrected herself, "Aunt, Uncle doesn’t need to be hospitalized for treatnt, I can treat him."

"You can?"

An Yan blinked, "I learned a set of needle techniques in the countryside, best for treating strokes."

Zhou Yi instantly understood. The worried look on her face was replaced by anger, "An Yan, I trust you. Treat him."

An Yan took out a small cloth bag from her backpack and pulled out six silver needles.

Fu Jinqiao exclaid, "Such long silver needles, how do you manage that?"

An Yan separated one and twisted it, "This one, just insert it into the head and twist it back and forth."

"Wouldn’t that touch the brain tissue? It kind of feels like eating monkey brains, doesn’t it?"

The color of the person in the bed seed to turn paler.

An Yan curled her lips, "It’s okay, the worst outco would be just like now."

Zhou Yi nodded, "An Yan, just go ahead and treat confidently."

"Alright!" An Yan approached, "Old Master, don’t worry. This needle will take imdiate effect."

An Yan, holding the needle, slowly approached. Fu Haichuan suddenly opened his eyes wide, staring at the silver needle, his teeth chattering.

"Go away! Get away from !"

An Yan put away the needle, straightened up, and turned back with a smile, "I didn’t expect my needle to work before I even used it."

Fu Haichuan sat up, pointing at the three people behind An Yan, "You all, you just watch her try to kill ?"

Fu Shiyan spoke indifferently, "Cure with the needle. Aren’t you back to normal now?"

Zhou Yi, with a stern face, "Fu Haichuan you’ve gone too far! Still faking illness! You really beco more unreasonable with age!"

Fu Jinqiao was also furious, "Grandpa, how could you do this? I’ve shed so many tears over nothing! There are other ways to make the younger uncle co back!"

An Yan walked back next to Fu Shiyan and put the needles back in her bag.

Fu Haichuan scoffed, "If I hadn’t done this, would this unfilial son have co back? He’s been bewitched by this vixen..."

Zhou Yi raised her hand and struck Fu Haichuan on the side of his head, "Shut up!"

Fu Haichuan looked at Zhou Yi in shock, "You actually hit ?"

"I did hit you, you made cry so much just now. If there’s a next ti, I’ll divorce you!"

Fu Haichuan couldn’t calm down for a long ti, looking like a wronged daughter-in-law.

Fu Shiyan held An Yan’s hand, "This is the last ti, don’t use such a poor excuse to make co back again." After saying that, he left with An Yan.

Zhou Yi and Fu Jinqiao followed the driver back to the old house, leaving Fu Haichuan alone in the hospital room, lonely and cold.

The next day, An Yan had Bi Chong retract all the news about Fu Shiyan and her online, leaving no trace, as if it had never happened.

Although this incident no longer stirred interest online, so people still enjoyed discussing it, so An Yan didn’t go to Galaxy Design Studio but stayed ho to restore Old Master Bai’s paintings.

On Saturday afternoon at two o’clock, Fu Shiyan brought An Yan back to the old house to teach Fu Jinqiao fighting.

The two hour training exhausted Fu Jinqiao, "I can’t anymore, let’s stop here for today."

An Yan smiled, "Okay, this can’t be learned overnight. Even if I’m not here, you need to keep training."

"I understand." Fu Jinqiao struggled to get up, "I’ll go take a shower first. You’ve sweated too, you can use the younger uncle’s room to shower."

"You certainly know how to arrange things." Fu Shiyan leaned against the doorfra and laughed.

Fu Jinqiao giggled, "Younger Uncle, you guys talk, I’ll leave first." After saying that, she dashed off.

Fu Shiyan stepped forward, "I think Jinqiao is right. Why don’t you co shower in my room?"

"I’ll go, but you have to stay outside."

Fu Shiyan wrapped his arms around her waist, smiling, "Okay, I’ll walk you there."

He led An Yan to the door of his room, "Don’t worry, I really won’t co in."

"Even if you wanted to, you couldn’t." An Yan entered the room and imdiately locked the door behind her before going to the bathroom.

She had taken a quick shower and was drying her hair when she ca out and saw Fu Shiyan sitting on the bed, his hands bracing against it, his body slightly reclined.

"All cleaned up?"

An Yan glanced at the door, "I locked it from inside."

Fu Shiyan pointed to the window, "I climbed in through there."

An Yan glared at him, genuinely exhausted by his extres.

Fu Shiyan stood up and walked toward her, his gaze burning on her, "You sll so good."

"I used your body wash."

"But it slls even better on you." Fu Shiyan’s hand gently massaged her waist, his palm’s warmth impossible to ignore.

An Yan noticed his breathing was a bit rapid and pushed him slightly, "Jinqiao knows I showered in your room, it might lead to misunderstandings if we don’t go out."

"Then let collect so interest first."

Fu Shiyan leaned down and kissed her, and An Yan didn’t resist, her hands involuntarily rising slowly to rest on his shoulders.

An intangible intimacy flowed between them.

After a while, An Yan leaned into his chest, breathing slightly heavily, "I need to go out now."

"Hmm, you go first, then I’ll follow."

An Yan changed into the clothes Fu Shiyan had prepared for her and left first.

Fu Shiyan lit a cigarette and slowly exhaled clouds of smoke.

An Yan went down to the living room, where Zhou Yi was peeling apples.

"An Yan, co here, Auntie is cutting so apples for you."

An Yan sat next to Zhou Yi and took the apple, expressing her thanks.

Zhou Yi laughed, "You’re still so polite with your aunt? By the way, there is an appraisal fair tomorrow, are you free?"

"I am free."

"Then would you accompany your aunt?"

"Sure, I’ll co pick you up with Ayan."

Zhou Yi smiled and nodded, "Good, tomorrow afternoon at two."

At that mont, Fu Haichuan ca in and sat on the sofa, his face serious.

"Where are you two going?"

Zhou Yi choked him off, "What does it matter to you? We don’t want to see you!"

Fu Haichuan coughed lightly, "Are you going to the appraisal fair?"

Zhou Yi rolled her eyes at him, "You heard already, why ask?"

Fu Haichuan felt very humiliated but still held his temper and said, "I’ll go with you."

"Hmph! You’re not wanted!"

"I’m worried you might miss sothing."

"With An Yan here, that won’t happen!"

Fu Haichuan took a deep breath, "Anyway, I’m going with you tomorrow. Since the family made so pastries, let’s take so when they leave." Having said that, he got up and left.

Zhou Yi gave him a stern look, "Now acting shaless, why did you bother doing so many foolish things before."

An Yan knew that Fu Haichuan was deliberately trying to get close and win her favor.

After all, he was Fu Shiyan’s father, and she didn’t want their relationship to be too strained—a harmonious ho brings prosperity, as they say.

She held Zhou Yi’s hand, "It’s okay, we’ll all go together tomorrow."

Zhou Yi patted her hand, "An Yan, you really are broad-minded."

When Fu Shiyan and An Yan left, Zhou Yi gave An Yan quite so pastries and advised her to dress formally the next day.

Once they were in the car, Fu Shiyan asked, "What are you planning tomorrow?"

"Auntie wants to accompany her to an appraisal fair."

Fu Shiyan thought for a mont, "Old Master Bai will also be there."

"That’s great, we can give him the restored painting."

Fu Shiyan raised an eyebrow, "Do you reckon Bai will also go tomorrow?"
