Seraphina’s POV

Introduce?

To who? To whom?

I didn’t have anyone to introduce!

"Big Boss, why do I have to introduce my boyfriend to you?" I rolled my eyes, folding my arms.

"Why not?" Lucien smirked. His eyes scanned from head to toe like he owned . "You’re my responsibility. I have every right to know who you’re ssing around with."

Seriously?

What’s wrong with this guy?

And more importantly, what the hell is wrong with my thumping heart?

Why was it beating like it was about to rip through my chest and climb out of my lungs?

Stupid traitor.

"So, where is he? And when is he coming?" he asked again.

But when I t his eyes, there wasn’t even a hint of curiosity; there was just a glint of coldness that’d freeze anyone in their place.

"Not gonna tell," I humphed, tossing my hair back. "I’m eting him here because it’s a secret. Telling you would ruin all the fun."

If he wanted to play, fine... I’d play too.

It’s been a month.

A whole damn month since I last saw him.

He was going crazy back then, asking to live with him. One phone call, and he ca running straight to the mall like so overprotective maniac.

But after that?

He was nowhere to be found.

Where the hell have you been?

Did you think I’m so loyal woman who’d sit around forever, waiting with tears in her eyes?

Nah.

I’d just hook up with anyone—

Ahem.

I’d just tell you I did.

"Fine, let’s go to your room and wait then," he said, grabbing by the backpack again and dragging along like I was so misbehaving kid.

How could he? Was he not afraid of death?

As we reached the elevator, he glanced at . "Which room?"

"I..." I stamred, my mind suddenly blank.

In the close space of the elevator, only us two were present, and the sharp sll hit . First, it was strong tobacco mixed with it was sothing sweet.

Was it perfu?

Wait.

Did he smoke?

I’ve never seen him do that.

But the perfu—won’s perfu. There wasn’t just one scent; they were different ones.

My stomach churned at the thought of him behing with a woman!

Had he been with a woman? Was I interrupting sothing tonight? Did I ruin his fun?

No. No, that shouldn’t bother .

He’s an adult. He can do whatever the hell he wants and hook up with anyone.

So why the hell was my chest hurting like this?

Why did it feel like sothing inside was being ripped apart, slowly and painfully?

Why were my eyes getting misty like so idiot?

This past month, I thought of him more than anyone else.

He was living rent-free in my mind.

There were tis I nearly called him, just to hear his voice and to share things that were happening in my life.

But I didn’t know how and where to begin.

And in all that ss, I never once imagined he might already have soone beside him.

Before I knew, the tears started spilling.

By the ti I realized it, I was already inside a room.

And I had no idea how I even got there.

"This is your room," he said, finally letting go of .

He threw himself onto the couch like he owned the place, taking off his blazer and tossing it carelessly beside him.

I stood frozen for a second. "Get out!" I blurted.

"Excuse ?" Lucien looked genuinely stunned for a mont, then that shock turned to amusent

A smug and cold smirk crawled onto his face, that’d made anyone go weak in fear.

"No boyfriend is coming!" I shouted as I clenched my fist. "And I don’t want any n in my room either, so take your filthy coat and get out!"

I said those words out loud unknowingly. Just what was happening to ?

But before I could even sort out my feelings, he rose to his feet and walked toward .

His steps toward were slow and dangerous. His eyes didn’t leave mine even for a second.

The room suddenly felt too small because he was too close.

"Wh... What are you doing?" I could barely speak as I took a step back as he ca forward.

Until I hit my back on sothing hard, and nowhere to go.

I was cornered.

Lucien didn’t stop. He kept walking, slow and deliberate, until there were barely a few inches left between us.

"Even if he were to co," he murmured, eyes locked on mine, "he wouldn’t find you..."

He leaned closer, his voice dipping lower. It was too deep and hoarse for one would want to dive into them.

"Because, baby girl... you’ve been abducted. He paused as his smirk deepened. "And locked in my suite."

His lips brushed against my ear as he whispered, and his warm breath spilled down my neck.

My whole body tensed and shivered.

"Ab... abducted?" I repeated as I blinked repeatedly.

Wait.

I didn’t tell him my room number.

So, how did he know?

How did we end up here?

But my thoughts were already a ss, drowned under the heat rolling off his body, the way his scent distracted , and the way he looked at .

And the worst part was that... I wasn’t scared of any of it.

If it were soone else, I’d have been a crying ss by now.

"So... so what if you did!" I shot back, lifting my chin in defiance. "I’m not scared of you."

"Really?"

His voice dropped as his cold eyes were burning with sothing unspeakable now.

Lucien reached out, his index finger gently tilting my chin up, forcing to et his eyes.

"What if I do this..." he murmured.

Before I could even blink, his arm wrapped around my waist, and he pulled straight into his chest.

My breath hitched as my head was now on his chest, and I could hear his heartbeat!
