"Judgent. My judgnt, I won’t be executed, will I?" He thought.
Not just Cole; even Isaac, standing behind him, was also quite fearful of the elder’s words.
"They can’t possibly directly execute him, right?" He thought.
Isaac, Wilce, and Cole all stared at the old man with expectant eyes while awaiting his next words.
But instead of saying anything, the old man began taking steady steps straight towards Cole.
His steps were both light and heavy at the sa ti. Light on the ground while being heavy for the observers.
Cole was planted in his position as he watched the man approach him.
"What is he about to do?" Cole questioned internally.
He didn’t have to wait for long before he got his response, though. The old man stood directly in front of Cole and then forcefully grabbed his hands.
With Cole’s hands in his, he began pumping Life energy straight into Cole.
This was a thod people use to observe the internal situation of others.
It was a quite dangerous approach since the other person adds access to your life energy and can corrupt it or do sothing to it.
But at this mont there was nothing to fear, though. Cole was just too weak when we compared him to the elder; even if he wished to do sothing, he just couldn’t.
And since Cole had no intentions of doing anything, everything was going smoothly.
But Cole was currently in an internal dilemma.
"Do I try to get out of this?" He thought.
"Will the elder notice sothing weird about apart from the presence of the dark energy?
He was certain the recording of differing abilities would have undoubtedly done sothing to him internally.
Changes that weren’t normal and could cause extre suspicion from others.
Cole observed the elder’s face as closely as possible, trying to detect any change in his expression.
But the elder maintained a steady expression, with random smiles popping up on his face sotis.
This went on for quite a while, leaving the room in a sort of inert state.
After so minutes, the elder finally let go of Cole’s hands and stood up on his feet.
The serious expression was back on his face as he looked around at everyone in the room.
"I have observed everything I need to, but I won’t be making this decision on my own."
"I will be taking the information I have gathered to the council of elders for evaluation," The old man said.
Cole let out a sigh of relief as he heard the elders’ words. Though he isn’t completely free or anything.
It undoubtedly ant that his situation wasn’t severe enough for the elder to execute him on the spot.
"Before we make a decision, no one is allowed to lay a finger on the kid; anyone who does is going directly against ," He said while looking at Wilce.
Cole’s relief deepened even further; he felt the teacher wouldn’t be daring enough to attack him against the elder’s wishes. So he was safe for now.
"He is under your care for now," the old man said while looking at Isaac.
"Farewell," He said before vanishing.
Isaac, Wilce, and Cole were now left alone again in the room; the dispersed tension began slowly resurfacing.
But Wilce knew better than to go against the elder’s words so soon.
"He might just be lingering, ready to execute the mont I try anything," Wilce thought.
With that thought in mind, he decided to leave the room as soon as possible.
Before he left, he gave both Cole and Isaac a death stare to add a bit of pressure. He then proceeded to leave.
The room finally regained an inkling of peace again. The threats had already left.
Cole looked back at Isaac with a face filled with gratitude and respect.
"Thank you for reaching out to my rescue sir Isaac," Cole said.
"Stay safe and be careful; I will be close by," Isaac tells Cole with a warm smile before rging into the shadows and leaving.
Cole was now left all alone in the room.
Sigh!
He breathed out before slumping straight onto the ground. The tension in the room earlier had put a lot of pressure on him.
Now that they were all gone, he could finally relax and put his mind at rest.
"That was really scary," he said.
While still on the ground, he began thinking back to the earlier events and how fast things spiraled out of control.
"It appears the organization called Quinox had been a large problem for a while for them to have equipnt that tested for dark energy," He deduced.
"That probably isn’t the last we will be seeing of them."
He felt completely helpless and useless, especially now that he was currently in a weaker state.
He had lost the Flaming fist ability. His first recorded ability had been with him for quite a while.
It was gone.
He didn’t want to dwell on it for too long, though; he also knew the ability was too weak.
His mind strayed away from his lost ability, back to the Freshman Placent Test.
"Who won and how will they decide that?" Cole questioned.
"Since it ended prematurely, they would just use the student with the current highest points."
Though Cole knew that point, it didn’t stop him from feeling quite down from his loss.
He had lost the chance to get more resources and attention to himself.
The resources will help him grow a lot, but he has lost the chance for that.
The Freshman Placent Test changed from a battle for placent and resources to a battle for survival.
That change gave Cole so hope since they could change the rewards based on that.
He was particularly focused on the placent and the resources due to one reason. Strength.
He needed strength as fast as he could. Doctor Thomas, Quinox, everything just seed to be pushing him to grow stronger.
He knew his progress could be said to be extrely fast and explosive, but he still felt the need to grow even more.
"I need to also advance as soon as possible," Cole said resolutely.
