Despite eting those people in the underground not too long ago not being in their plans, they have been able to escape.

They didn’t just escape; their plan was brought forward by quite a bit.

"Things seem to be favoring us," Cole said.

"Let’s capitalize on this opportunity then; we need to save those kids as soon as possible," Laura said with her eyes locked on the left road.

"Relax, Laura, we will, but I need to confirm sothing," Cole said while turning to his teammates.

"The academy sent us to save kids in the slums, right?"

"But they didn’t ntion anything about the kids of the settlent,"

"Didn’t they know the settlent was here, or did they just not care?"

This question had been bugging Cole’s mind quite a bit ever since he discovered that the settlents also had missing kids.

"The only answer to this situation is that the settlent didn’t report any missing kids."

Linda looked at Cole strangely, wondering if sothing was wrong with him.

"Haven’t we confird earlier that the settlents’ leaders are involved? obviously they won’t allow anyone to report."

"Yes, but why haven’t any mbers of the settlent reported yet? I am sure they will know sothing is wrong."

Then Linda realized Cole’s point of view.

"There must be a powerful spirit involved in all of this," Cole muttered.

Before they could dive deeper into the matter and try to pry. Bryan’s voice quickly snapped him out of his spiraling thoughts.

"Focus, Cole, that isn’t the main goal right now."

Bryan’s words served as a wake-up Call for Cole that he very much needed.

"Sorry, do we begin the tracking now or wait till we are completely ready?" Cole asked.

"I don’t think we can be completely ready; let’s just go ahead and do it as soon as possible," Linda said from the side.

"All right then, let’s begin."

Hearing that, Bryan went down and sat in a cross-legged position. The others could feel Life energy change direction and begin to flow toward Bryan.

They waited like that for a while, but there was still no reaction from Bryan.

"What’s up, Bryan?" Cole said from behind him.

Opening his eyes, Bryan looked back at Cole and said in a slightly apologetic tone.

"I still can’t find him," he said.

"It feels like sothing is stopping from getting through," he said.

Cole’s mind had already begun sprinting into action. He had begun connecting all the dots he knew.

"It must be this underground space, just like the last ti," Cole said.

"But what exactly is special about this space that can have such an effect," he asked.

But there was no way he could find the right response to his questions anywhere.

"Since we can do it underground, we have to wait for him to get out of the underground then," Cole said.

"That’s the only thing we can do,"

Laura was extrely unsatisfied with those words; the urgency in her heart couldn’t be held back anymore.

Cole noticed that and also gritted his teeth tightly. He was also trying his absolute best to hold himself together.

Laura didn’t say anything more; she just turned around and began heading out of the underground area.

The team also followed closely behind her, not willing to stay down there anymore.

"Stay as alert as possible, Bryan; the instant you sense anything, inform us quickly," Linda said to Bryan in a low voice.

"Those two are about to lose it."

It didn’t take long for them to arrive back aboveground in the slums.

"I will be heading back now; the young ones must have been waiting," Laura said.

"Alright, stay safe," Linda waved her goodbye.

The trio stood there staring at Linda’s distancing back.

"What do we do now? that unconscious guard leader is still at our place," Bryan spoke up.

Cole thought for a while, but he also couldn’t figure out anything to do.

"Our mission is slowly coming to an end,"

"Let’s head back ho," Cole pitched.

"Are you sure?" Linda questioned.

"Yeah, let’s just do it; if they co after us, things will be much easier then," Cole said.

"Okay then,"

Having made that decision, the trio began their journey back ho under the light of the Shining Moon.

In no ti, they arrived back ho.

Still lying there on the ground was the unconscious guard leader."

Cole looked at him with extre disgust while he picked him up and carried him over to a room not too far beside him.

"You will be staying here; we might get so useful information from you," Cole said while tying up the guard leader in Mr. Evans’s room.

Since he was a Spiriter, he was obviously much stronger, such that a normal rope tie couldn’t hold him, but Cole ca prepared.

He quickly tied the man up in a position that prevented any form of strength exertion.

"That should hold," he said while leaving the room.

He got back to his room, where the others were already cultivating, and sat on the ground.

"The big battle is coming already; I need to do sothing about my strength,"

"I probably can’t handle Michael like this, even if I use lightning Coat."

"The only way out is if I figure out how to modify kinetic acceleration before then,"

"But how? what am I missing?" Cole contemplated.

After that day of continuously trying to do the sa thing, Cole realized it wasn’t actually brute force that was needed.

He needed sothing else. Sothing more psychological.

Following that, Cole could begin delving deep into himself. He recollected all the knowledge he had about Kinetic Acceleration.

He followed through it all, from the beginning to the end. The intensity, pattern, and everything.

Then Cole imdiately began noticing sothing: the secret actually lies in the knowledge itself, not in its application.

He had been handling it like when he wanted to record an ability, but editing an ability is much different.

It deals with refining what he already knows and not trying to change everything.

That realization imdiately opened the doors.

Cole began seeing things he hadn’t previously; he had made much more progress in this short while than he did in that whole day.

Cole was already lost in his mind and couldn’t feel the passage of ti.

Faintly, like the sun seeped into the room at this ti, when Cole suddenly heard Bryan’s voice.

"I have found him,"

Instantly Cole’s eyes snapped open.

"Here’s the final stretch," he thought with fiery eyes.
