"Get out of here you worthless trash!" The shout ca from nearby Clark. He had still been a little dazed after the professor had handed an invitation to his classes without much explanation.
When Clark turned around he saw that Maria had been pushed to the ground. "You think we would let you get another beast? What kind of fools do you think we would be? You're just trash with a worthless spirit beast. Go rot in a gutter!"
Hearing this made Clark's blood boil. He knew exactly who was yelling at Maria. It was another mber of the Cain family. Because their young master had perished, no one was around to order the servants and lesser ranked mbers. This was a massive problem. They had all started to fight for power.
It had been a little while since anyone had targeted Maria. Clark and she had been reclusive in their training and then focused on classes. They hadn't had any chances to interact with the majority of students. This had been a blessing and a curse. Now that she was being targeted again it was hitting Maria harder.
Yet, when Clark looked at Maria, he didn't see fear. This ti he saw anger. She was ready to start fighting back. However, she didn't need to, Clark was the one that would protect her. He wasn't sure when he had made this choice but he had. It was already sothing he was acting on by stepping forward.
"How pathetic and boring. The Cain family really has nothing better to do than bother others who have better potential than they ever will have. Maybe the Rolly family will have to cut off trade ties with them for the next month. Or longer."
The voice that Clark heard was familiar, but there was more seriousness and strength within it. As he looked over, he found Isa was standing right behind Maria. She was still frail looking. It was just her figure. "I'm sure my parents would love to save the ti they waste selling anything to the Cain family."
This hit Clark like a wave. Isa was the daughter of the Rolly family. One of the top rchant families that had once been known for the efforts in building the walls through battle. They had retired from direct war fighting to beco the quickest growing rchant organization in the city and even starting bases in other cities.
"We have a right to sell and buy from wherever-"
"You have a right to turn around and walk away. If I hear anything more from you then you will not even be able to buy food in this or the next city." Isa was clearly furious. She had gained a lot of respect for Maria after their battle. It had opened her eyes to her weaknesses and also introduced her to soone she might be able to train with to beco stronger.
One of the professors ca over and pulled the student away. He was clearly unhappy that they might lose a sale and didn't care at all about the familial relationships between students. "I didn't even realize you were Isa Rolly of the Rolly family rchants." Clark made his appearance a little red faced. He was still worked up seeing how Maria was treated.
"I try now to rub it in people's faces. If I did, my father said I wouldn't be allowed to stay in the house anymore. He wants to work my way through everything. It's very important to him since he and my grandfather did the sa." Isa helped Clark lift Maria off the ground.
"Thank you for helping. But I was going to teach him a lesson." Maria still had her desire to fight her own battles now. She had made that change within herself the day she had Clark to stand by her side.
"I don't think he would have had the chance. The way Clark looked, he was about to pull a spear out and make skewered at out of him." Isa laughed a little nervously. Her character was showing. Among her classmates, she seed a little unsure of herself but when she beca a businesswoman, she was solid and steel like. It was a clear teaching of her family's growth.
Maria glanced at Clark a little embarrassed. She knew how angry he could get when sothing like this happened but he was angry for her. It ant a lot to her. "I just hope he doesn't co back. I don't need to see or hear more of that. Clark just tried to push the subject away after seeing Maria's reaction.
"I agree. I don't want anyone speaking to my classmates like this." Isa was feeling very proud of how she acted. She never used her family na but knew that sotis there was a ti and place for it to be thrown around. "What were you two looking at by the way? I ca because it was so busy here. It looked fun."
"I just analyzed an egg and was invited to take so classes. Apparently, I have a good eye. But I don't know what Maria was looking at before that rude…before that happened." Clark held himself back from getting worked up. He knew there was a ti and a palace for such things.
"Well. There's a weird egg there. It looks different from the others and I wanted to know what it was." Maria pointed it out.
"It has a thicker shell for sure. It even looks like it might be from a different species altogether." Isa could tell that it was not the sa as the mud crab eggs labeled around it.
'Thousand shell Crab- rare
The thousand shell crab gets its na from the number of tis it sheds its shell in a lifeti. Through its growth, it will shed its shell one thousand tis. The result is one of the toughest defenses within the oceans. The massive claws it grows can crush many beasts with ease once it reaches adulthood. It can not mutate or evolve in any way but is a beast above many others. It primarily feeds on…'
"That's a thousand shell crab. It's pretty rare and amazing for defense." Clark analyzed and spoke imdiately without thinking. He felt that they would want the answer and didn't think he should hide it.
"Wait, you knew!? That's why the professor would invite you to classes then. That's amazing. But I bet I know sothing you don't." Isa was feeling the energy around and getting more excited. Now that the bad situation had passed them by, she was having more fun. She rarely bonded with people like this.
"The thousand shelled crab can take a shield form when it is tad properly. It's super good for battle as it is, but even better when it takes that form. It just takes a long ti to beco tougher." Isa showed off what she knew from learning about the trade of beast eggs. She was glad to see Clark raise an eyebrow at this.
"I know that you said you don't want another beast, but Maria, this could be one that helps you out a lot." Clark felt that Maria might need such a beast more than other people. She was one of the people targeted by the Mourne and the Cain family.
