The closer that the group got to where the map said the entrance to Terra Academy was, the busier the streets got. Many rchants had set up small stalls trying to sell the basics to students that may travel by them. Apparently, there was a large market for supplies.
"I would say that students here are known for breaking their things. If there are enough sales to make rchants from the main rchant streets co here with smaller stalls that is." Isa was able to pick up on this. But the rest of the group had assud so as well.
But the supplies all seed to be baggy clothing or training gear. Nothing like serious armors. So of them were even selling weighted clothing or vests that would fit underneath the weighted clothing. It was perfect for training the body which ant that these rchants were already backing up what the group knew of Terra Academy.
"Hey! That's the Nova first year team and one of the Nova third year teams!" soone nearby shouted out as if they were seeing a celebrity. Clark had a minor flashback of seeing these things on television in his previous life. The generic shout that would draw in a crowd causing chaos. But it wasn't like that.
Instead, a few people stopped, looked over and then kept moving toward a very large tal gate and stone wall.
What actually happened was that a man wearing a deep brown robe with the Terra Academy mountain insignia on them walked toward the group. "We have you on our list for visitation. I can just check all of your badges and identification before you can enter with a visitor plaque." The man was a guard who had a very unique ring on his finger.
The runes on it along with the elental crystals were clearly set up to transfer information. That ant that Terra Academy had a guard force that could access files on those that could and could not be admitted to the academy.
While this was not sothing new, it was impressive. The reason was very simple. Many of the things that needed to be done with these rings required control of the runes. The gems themselves were also carved. The tals it was made of were very expensive. Other cities would not have such a thing set up due to the high cost.
However, that was nothing for Terra City. They harvested the ores, energy crystals, and the craftsn to make it all possible. For them, it cost nothing but the ti to do it.
The guards looked over everyone carefully while looking at the insignias they also carried. He was very thorough so that he would not let in the wrong person. From what the group could tell, this was only done for visitors since there was always a worry that soone might be breaking in. that explained the massive tal gate and the massive stone wall.
But when Clark glanced at the gate, he noticed sothing odd.
'Gate of steel protections- ultra rare
The gate of steel protections is a unique tal and undead type beast. It happened when the small steel gate was constantly soaked in blood then left for a hundred years untouched. It can not be a spiritual beast due to the odd fusion of both undead and tal energies of unique forms.
It is able to resist both magical and physical attacks of a much higher degree than its own strength. The only cost is that it is not able to easily move around. It needs assistance from other beasts that it normally shares so energies with. It is also one of the few tal type beasts that is fully made of tal but will still consu the flesh and blood of other beasts.
When needed, it can be fast and take a cage from, trapping an enemy and sapping their strength away. This ans that it is able to alter its shape to trap those much stronger than itself. The dangers of this co with the fact that it can easily trap sothing greater than itself and get hard from the inside out.
It has no way of changing form but to grow larger. It will not beco stronger instantly and requires ti and the right materials. It is often tad by guards through peaceful thods, it values safety over all else.'
"Wow, that's a gate of steel protections. That is a beast much rarer than I would have thought to see." Clark didn't hold back how surprised he was. He had not thought that a tal and undead type beast would be here, let alone exist peacefully like this.
"Ah, you noticed? Normally it likes to just hide in plain sight, but if you introduce yourself it might move a little. Just don't do anything against the rules." The guard instantly beca much brighter seeing that the rumors of smart students from Nova were not just rumors.
He made sure to hand them each a piece of parchnt with the academy rules and told them the directions toward the main building where they could speak with an advisor. That way they could go the ways they wanted while seeing the academy.
As Clark walked by, he gave the gate a respectable bow and kept on moving. The small bow was to show that he didn't an to impede it but did like its job. The tal shivered slightly as if it was also giving a respectful bow. The guard just smiled a little and found the next student in line that disappeared to be new to the academy.
"So that entire gate is a beast? I have never heard of a gate becoming a beast." Ella was unsure how it was possible. She had seen the abyssal sword and other tal type beasts with spiritual energy affinity. They were unique but nothing like what that gate was.
"It's a rare undead and tal beast. It can't even be a spirit beast that soone is born with because of the unique energies of both typings that co together to make it exist. That's pretty amazing. But that should also tell us about how unique energies are even outside the natural flow of birth and the partners we are born with." Clark sounded like he was about to teach a class.
"Sure thing professor Clark. But what about that beast up there? Is that unique or is it just massive?" Ralph mocked Clark a little but it was fine since the entire group was very stuck on what they were staring at.
'Crater tortoise- rare
The crater tortoise is known for the large craters it makes as its nest. They will be able to fit their bodies in it and appear to just be a large hill. So even say that they can grow to have an entire mountain as their shell.
The crater tortoise is able to grow by consuming and storing the earth it consus within its shell. As the years pass, there is a chance that the earth that makes its shell can fall off. At that point, the earth is very densely packed with nutrients and energy. It allows for the earth to be vital farming fertilizer or herb growing booster.
The tortoise can live up to a hundred years but it is thought that it can grow even more to what is called a great mountain tortoise. The proof is only in myths though. The materials needed for such a growth would be incredibly rare, even in powerful large dungeons.
While normally peaceful, they will gladly battle and use their shell as a crushing shield. It does not fear falling on its back because it can use the earth to right itself. It can also use its powerful beak to break armor and tals that block its way…'
From what Clark could see, this was a very old crater tortoise. "I would say that has to be one of the professor's beasts. It's already forty years old so a student that was here would have to be redoing a lot of years of class."
"So that thing is forty and has sixty years more to live!? How big will it be then?" Grace was exasperated. She had no idea that such a large beast could still be young and growing. This was way more than what she had seen in Nova.
"Maybe we should calm down a little. We might look like tourists on our way if every single beast makes us stop and shout." Reese felt that he was around a bunch of kids. But that didn't stop his eyes from lingering on a few beasts he had never seen before.
Now one else seed to notice it, but the group had already drawn attention. Especially since they had worn their Nova academy uniforms. Those of Terra academy had definitely heard the rumors of this group before them. They all knew that there would be a challenge for tons of the gifted students. But even more, they knew that this group had so unique talents that would shine when training.
A very good way to use them. To have this group of elites push them higher.
