The following day, Clark and Maria found themselves waiting for Isa to leave the classroom. They were going to tackle the invitations to the research and breeding building of the campus. "So, what do you think of Isa?" Clark had his own opinions but wanted to hear what Maria thought. They might need allies in the future.
"She is very set in her beliefs. It's nice to have soone that is dedicated to getting stronger under their own power." Maria found that Isa was inspiring. She could appreciate the family values that Isa had over other family values they had seen.
"I think so too. What I was worried about was that she might try and use her family to manipulate others. Luckily, that seems to be against what I thought. She is very clear that she is not going to live off of her father and grandfather's achievents." Clark had spent a little ti before going to bed to look in to the Rolly family.
The library had general news postings so that the students could keep up over the years. What Clark managed to find stored away on the shelves was that the Rolly family had remained powerful since they beca rchants. The way this was done was simple, each family leader had split off from the main family and created a new route of their business.
The grandfather had helped build the walls then changed in to a monster material rchant. The father had split off as a child and opened the forged goods route. Since the grandfather was still alive, he was maintaining the business he had grown, but the father had his own power in the family.
Unlike most people, the more powerful the tar the longer they could live. This was why powerful families in the city had more elderly mbers left alive after wars. They were also so of the most powerful tars within the city but rarely acted out in political affairs. Their desires were elsewhere in this stage of life.
"Thank you for waiting for . I wasn't sure if you would." Isa was a little more nervous and open around Clark and Maria than she had been before. The difference in attitudes when Isa threw her weight as a rchant around and between those she had deed as friends was night and day.
"Isa, can I ask you a personal question?" Clark knew it would be rude just to co out with it. He had to take things slower since Isa might still be apprehensive about him and Maria.
"You can ask anything. You said we were friends yesterday and I think it would be fine to ask friends anything." Isa was not so soft person that would just let people walk all over her. When soone stated that they had a relationship with soone, she would make them show it. This was just how business was conducted. Hold people accountable for what they say.
"Alright, well…your family has a lot of different businesses as a rchant family. What are you planning to do with yours?" This wasn't necessarily sothing that would or would not make Clark stick with Isa as a friend. But it was sothing that might change the way he and Isa interact.
"I was thinking about that a lot. First I wanted to co to the best academy and get stronger. I need to so that I can stand on my own without my father or brothers standing for ." Isa was the youngest in her family. She had two older brothers that had already gone out in to the world to make their own businesses.
"One of my brothers has a porter service to go and collect beasts in the wild after they are defeated. He chose sothing dangerous but he is really strong. My other brother deals in jewelry and gems. So of them are even made in to unique accessories with rune patterns." Booth professions sounded like they could make decent money. Plenty of gold to support the Rolly family na as top rchants.
"Since we received an invitation to take classes that not everyone can take, I was considering a beast breeding or analysis business. It would be best if I could get experts that could analyze and create suggested growth plans for a beast." This was not a new service. There were already small shops that did such things. But the keyword was small.
There were not many that grew in fa because they hid their family tricks to grow beasts.
"That sounds like a tough path to take. I think it's a challenge worth taking though. If you get education from these classes that others can't get you will already be ahead." having the support of Clark made Isa more confident in what she had decided the night before.
"I think guiding the younger beast tars to a better chance at being successful is great. If you can make more beast growth plans then you would be able to et plenty of beasts that will build your na up even higher." Maria only saw good things. She was thinking about how a determined person could build up a business. Isa was a determined person, that was crystal clear.
"If you do make such a business and your license is approved, you can employ . I need a way to get consistent gold without having to go in to the wilds. You have already seen my skills a little but I promise there's more." Clark felt that it was best that he take the chance to trust Isa. The Rolly family was known for keeping their word and sticking to contracts.
Since that was the case, he would gladly form a business relationship with them.
"Did I just get an employee without even interviewing or starting a business?" Isa was a little stunned. She hadn't even started a business or thought about the kind of people she would hire. "Do you really want to work for if I set this up? I know I can make a business at my age because of my previous education and family backing, but are you really sure?"
"Yes, if it doesn't grow then at least we tried. I need a way to make money safely. Beasts have plenty of growth processes and I can figure them out by learning here. It's not that I will forget things about them." Clark was sure that he would be able to share many pieces of information that would be questioned. He could bla the academy library as the source.
"Then I will look in to it after today's classes. I might be able to put the paperwork in if one of my brothers wants to back . It should be easy to convince them that they both want to show off to my father that they are the better twin." Isa's brothers were twins who had always tried to make themselves out as the better one. It was a cliche that Isa had always found funny growing up.
"As long as you both don't forget we will be fine." Maria stuck her tongue out at the two talking business without her. She ran off toward the beast breeding and analysis building before Clark and Isa could respond. It was ti for class.
