[3rd POV]

Over the past six months, while Gwen had been hard at work finding and saving mutants around the multiverse, SHIELD, and their friend Carol Danvers, had been hard at work.

With the help of Starks technology, they had begun to scan and search Mars for any sort of evidence that soone lives there. Things like footprints, man made structures, energy signatures, anything that could point them towards the mutants that may be living on Mars, were searched for.

They found that there was...absolutely no evidence of any of this. Nothing, no matter how hard they searched, they couldn't find anything. No footprints, no man made structures, no energy structures, absolutely no evidence that the mutants are on Mars.

At least, none through the satellites and other technology that Stark had provided to help search. Not a single piece of tech was showing them anything, and that only increased their concern. Because if the mutants weren't on Mars, it ant that they were sowhere on Earth that was out of their sight, or they had long since been taken off planet, into a far distant place.

So, Fury sent Carol Danvers personally to fly around every inch of Mars, all to search for any sort of evidence that soone lived, or lives there. Anything would help them at this point, and it was desperately needed, as the world security council was growing more and more angry with the knowledge that the Mutants of Earth had all disappeared, every last one of them.

It was pretty much public knowledge within SHIELD that the world security council likely had labs that experinted on mutants, and now that labs around the world had been found to have been attacked en masse, it was obvious why they were angry. Fury kept that particular piece of news hidden, as he wasn't going to deal with the reactions of the Avengers, well, except for Carol who would likely back him.

Carol had toured around the planet for months now, flying around every corner of it, trying to find sothing, anything, that would point towards the Mutants potentially living on the planet, but, she had yet to find anything.

That was a problem, a very big one.

Which led to his current situation, sitting in the eting room with the Avengers.

"So you've found nothing? Not a single thing that points towards the mutants being on Mars? Not even a footprint? A strand of hair? Nothing?" Clint asked Carol, as they all sat back, on the monitors were pictures of the areas that she had surveyed so far, and showed how there was...absolutely nothing to see, like...at all.

It was disappointing, really.

"Nothing. There's no evidence that the mutants are on Mars at all. Absolutely no proof that they ever left Earth, or ever appeared on Mars. It's like they just disappeared into nothing, and no matter how much I look, I can't find anything" Carol replied with a grunt, annoyed that after months of searching, she had yet to find anything.

"Not surprising really. They're mutants, it only makes sense that so of them have abilities that make it hard to be found. They've likely found a way of using it on a wider scale to keep themselves hidden, especially if an alien species has them under their control. Combine alien technology and mutant abilities and you got a dangerous combination" Tony said in response with a sigh, as his satellites had been helping the best they could but it wasn't doing anything for them, not as much as going down their personally would.

"How do we find track the powers of a mutant? We don't have the technology to sense that sort of thing" Clint asked, as Tony smirked.

"You underestimate , my dear bird friend. I should be able to make sothing to track them, but it'll take ti, and a lot of money. Not that money's a problem. I'll also need so blood samples from mutants as well" Tony responded, as Bruce brought up a rather good point.

"Is it really a good idea to make sothing like that, Tony? You'd be handing over a device that the governnt can use to track and record mutants, with how much they are despised, it might do more harm than good" Bruce asked, causing Tony to shake his head.

"Nah, this would only be for this case. I might be a genius, but even I know that sothing like that would do a lot more harm than good. And no matter how much you beg , Baldy, you won't be getting it" Tony said, already knowing what Fury would ask, and not even remotely contemplating the idea.

Sure he'd make a shit ton of money on it, but he was already one of the richest n alive, and he wasn't dumb enough to give sothing like that out. It would cause the deaths of thousands of mutants, and would never give them peace again. Just like how he'd never give out alien detectors, as it would lead to the deaths of thousands of innocent aliens that lived on Earth at the mont.

"Stark that sort of invention would make our lives a lot easier" Natasha said, causing the man to snort.

"It would also make the lives of innocent mutants many tis harder. I know the governnt enough to know what they'd do with sothing like this, and I won't have an invention of mine used to harm others, I stopped producing weapons for that reason" Tony replied, shutting down the idea before they could argue more, as he really wasn't in the mood to argue over this sort of thing.

"Yeah but-" "No buts, either you use this invention once to save the mutants up on Mars, if they are even up there. Or I won't make it at all. And trust , I will know if you try to copy the invention or attempt to use it for anything more than just that. And I haven't even made the thing yet" Tony cut off Carol, who was trying to argue in favor of SHIELD, of course.

He knew that Natasha, Clint, and Carol were all pretty loyal to SHIELD, the latter more so than the forr two. She was loyal to an almost gross degree, even when a lot of what they do and what they wanted to do, was...horrid.

"What do we do once we find them? How will we transport them back to Earth? How do we even get them back to their hos? There's over 10 million mutants missing, and the public is beginning to really notice the effects of their disappearance" Steve asked, after being silent for quite so ti now, just listening to them all bicker and argue.

"That is sothing we'll have to figure out when we get there. For now we just need to get Stark to make the damn thing and then find them. And then we'll see how this happened and what we can do to bring them back" Fury replied, as it was sothing he had been thinking about for a while.

Transporting 10 million people was going to be next to impossible for them. aning Stark would likely have to use more of his genius brain to figure out a way of saving them all. And this was all riding on the fact that they were kidnapped and not sothing else, and that was sothing that no one knew the truth of, not even after 6 months of trying to figure it out.

"How long will it take to make?" Hill asked Tony, who shrugged.

"Maybe a week or two? Matters how fast you can get the materials needed for the thing. And I'll have to make it suitable to scan large parts of Mars, otherwise it'll take forever to find them all" Tony replied, causing Fury to nod slowly.

"Good, get on that. We'll continue searching the best we can until then. Now get out of here and get to work!" Fury ordered, as they all got to their feet and began to leave one by one, leaving Fury by himself, one thought on his mind as they left.

'...The Council won't be happy about this'
