Reaper checked his watch for what felt like the hundredth ti, ’it’s already five minutes past our agreed ti, is he going to bail on ’?
He knew that five minutes wasn’t much, but he had been anxiously waiting for twenty minutes now as he had arrived early.
Finally, the door to the private room opened and a man on a wheelchair ca in. "Ahh, sorry. I was a little late, wasn’t I? It’s just that it took ti to exit my van".
"Ohh, it’s fine. Don’t worry about it" Reaper said imdiately, he had actually forgotten that he had quit the assassin organisation after losing both his legs during a mission.
Reaper hurriedly stood up and shifted the chair to the side so that the wheelchair would fit comfortably while the man watched silently.
After he was done, Reaper sat down and the man spoke up, "haa, how ti passes. You look just like your father now, and well mannered too. You were just a cute little kid the last ti I saw you".
"Thank you uncle, you don’t seem to have aged much since the last ti I saw you either" Reaper replied politely, he actually didn’t really rember how the man had looked like before but still used so sweet words.
"No need to butter up. I know you probably don’t rember . You must also be quite impatient to know about your mother and all" the man said in an easygoing tone.
Reaper scratched his head in embarrassnt and the man continued, "actually I don’t really have much information regarding your mother. I was one of your fathers closest friends but he refused to give anyone any information at all".
He let out a long sigh and continued, "I only know so things because your father got drunk and shared so things with after a mission one night".
Reaper listened hopefully as the man continued, "In his drunk state, your father actually cried and told that he had to leave your mother so that she would be safe. Apparently one of your father’s enemies had almost succeeded in hurting her. Your father did eliminate the enemy but got scared because of the close call. He left your mother saying that he had fallen out of love with her and took you with him too. I don’t know what he was thinking, the poor woman must have been heartbroken".
Reaper sat in his seat quietly, at a loss to what to say. So his mother had not abandoned him and she was probably alive too.
Thousands of questions such as ’did she miss him? Did she cry when he had been taken away from her? Did she ever move on?’ were revolving inside his head.
No matter what he had to find his mother now, he wanted to see the woman who had given birth to him and whom he had always dread of eting.
"Do you know anything else? Anything that can help find my mother?" He asked in a little desperate tone.
"Hmm, even though your father was drunk, he was still careful not to reveal any details about your mother. But, before he died he gave a key to a safe. He wanted to give it to you when you were all grown up and capable enough to protect your mother. Here, the key and the address to the safe is inside this envelope. The letter your father left for you is also there. I know you want to find your mother imdiately so I won’t take up any more of your ti. Good luck kid" the man said, sliding an envelope across the table.
The man left after saying his part but Reaper didn’t even notice. His gaze was fixed on the envelope as if all the answers were inside it.
Finally, he took it with shaky hands and opened it. He looked at the address first, it wasn’t that far from where he was. Reaper wanted to imdiately go and see what was inside the safe but held himself back, he decided to read the letter his father had left for him first.
He didn’t really have many mories with his father as he was always out sowhere. But, every birthday, his father would buy a big birthday cake for him and accompany him the whole day.
When his father had died, Reaper didn’t even get to see his body as the assassin organisation had been unable to recover it. They had just held a funeral for him with an empty casket.
Reaper hadn’t even cried during the funeral but when he had gotten back to his room, he had locked the door and cried thinking about how he wouldn’t have anyone to celebrate his birthday with again.
Reaper opened the letter and read it again and again. The letter was actually really short.
It ntioned how his father had loved him and would always love him even though he might not be with him. He told him that he hoped he could protect his mother in his stead after he was all grown up.
The last paragraph was, "Rember to tell your mom that I love her when you finally et her. Oh, and tell her not to be too mischievous and torture anyone with her unique dishes".
Though Reaper didn’t really know what his father was trying to say in the last sentence, he still found himself smiling.
It felt like a little bit of gloominess from his heart had been lifted.
’Now let’s go find my mother’.
Reaper stood up and realised that the food that he had ordered was untouched, he called the restaurant staff and told them to pack it up. There was an orphanage nearby where he could donate the food. Thinking about it, he told the staff to pack more food so that he could donate more.
After he got the food, he sat on his motorbike and rode away.

The car which was parked a little distance from the restaurant drove away right after Reaper rode away on his motorbike. "Hello, yeah I t him and gave him everything. Why do you have to do all this though?"
The person on the other line said sothing and the man sighed, "yeah yeah, I know you want to protect all of them but you are hurting yourself in the process. You can’t even et any of them openly, you have to sneak around and look at them from afar".
The person on the other end replied and the man got a little annoyed, "whatever, do what you want. Don’t co to all sad when your family gets reunited without you".
He cut the call after the statent and sat back. "Let’s go", he ordered his driver.

Mo Chou was back at the University on Monday. This ti, she was greeted by Lu Jinhai as soon as she got out of the car which made her secretly happy.
But Lu Jinhai seed kind of tired and sleepy that day too, "Did you even get any sleep yesterday"? Mo Chou asked with concern.
"I had so matters to settle urgently," replied Lu Jinhai truthfully. He had been busy trying to cause trouble for his mother but had failed repeatedly. On top of that, with his insomnia and all, he couldn’t get any sleep at all but he couldn’t leave Mo Chou at the University today as he was worried about his mother trying sothing.
He knew that his mother was back in the country, so he couldn’t take any chances.
"Do you want to skip classes today?" Mo Chou asked Lu Jinhai.
"Hmm yeah sure, let’s go to that pavilion we went to last ti and I can catch up on my sleep".
Mo Chou "....." She actually ant Lu Jinhai should skip classes to rest, why was she skipping classes too? But she still nodded in the end thinking how it would actually be quite nice to just relax with him.
"Sure but let’s attend the first class, we can go there after our break ti is over like last ti if it’s okay with you" Mo Chou said as she had to et Li Chen and Huang Chunhua after all.
Lu Jinhai had no objections and nodded, he would be happy as long as he could spend so ti alone with her.
Li Chen and Huang Chunhua were waiting for Mo Chou and Lu Jinhai as usual. Li Chen first returned Mo Chou’s cara which she had accidentally taken ho. She had also made copies of the photos she took for everyone considerately.
Lu Jinhai looked at the envelope in his hands, he had actually wanted to ask for the photos but had gotten them without even saying a word. He wanted to thank Li Chen but was at a loss how to, he didn’t really talk to anyone else aside from Mo Chou after all.
He just let out a stiff thank you and decided that he would keep this in mind so that he could help her out in case she was in any trouble later.
That was the only way he could think of thanking her anyway.
