Chapter 27 – Looking At Him Longingly (3)
She must be more careful the next ti she talked to the boss man concluded Gu Shishi as she walked out of the mansion, patting her little heart.
By now, the hot sun was starting to rise.
Opening up her parasol, she walked along the small pathway for over half an hour before she made it to the bus that would take her into the city, drenched in her own sweat.
They lived in a very remote area because Huo Sishen preferred a quiet environnt.
The commute was very difficult if one didn’t drive.
Evidently, Gu Shishi did not have the treatnt belonging to that of a fiancée of a prominent family. She still needed to rely on herself to commute to and from the mansion.
She brought herself into the center of the city and hopped onto the overcrowded subway. When she finally arrived at the mall where she worked, it was almost ti for the first class.
“Shishi!” Before she walked into the elevator, she was stopped by a crisp voice.
She turned around and saw a girl wearing a black-frad spectacle and hair tied up into a bun. She had on a nerdy pair of overall with big pockets and she was waving at Gu Shishi cheerfully.
“You feeling any better?” This was Ling Xiaoi, original owner’s colleague, also recently graduated from art school.
The original owner only took sick leave for the engagent ceremony. She hid everything about herself, from turning out to be from a prominent family to her engagent.
“Mmm...” Gu Shishi blinked awkwardly.
She had the original owner’s mories. She knew that the original owner did not hide everything because she was low key, but that she was still holding out hope for Huo Wencheng and didn’t want to accept her engagent with Huo Sishen.
As for being found by the Gu’s, she wanted to wait until the Gu’s has accepted her before she bragged in front of her colleagues, which was why she hasn’t told anyone about it yet.
Ling Xiaoi wrapped her arm around her shoulder and walked into the elevator with her. She turned and suddenly noticed the dark circles around her eyes.
“You still don’t look 100% and you seem a little down... eh?”
She was hal way through what she was saying before she suddenly jumped ahead of her.
Her red phoenix eyes behind her black fra examined Gu Shishi’s little face closely.
(T/N: red phoenix eyes:- eyes whose outer corners incline upwards. How Asians are usually depicted in western cartoons.)
“Shishi, what brand of foundation are you using today? The effect is amazing. It looks completely transparent with not powdery at all!”
“If it could also double as a better concealer and conceal those dark circles on you then it’d be perfect.”
Ling Xiaoi was still a little shorter than Gu Shishi. When she walked up close to her, her nose was almost touching Gu Shishi’s neck.
“Eh? You had perfu on today as well?” Rolling her eyes, Ling Xiaoi sniffed a few tis in the air.
“Ugh... sort of.”
Gu Shishi’s small face was a little flustered.
This was the rose body scent that was a gift from the system that could only be detected within 10 cm.
The normal distance between people was around 50 cm to 1 ter; in theory, nobody should be able to notice that.
But right now, Ling Xiaoi was a little too close.

As the elevator door opened, Gu Shishi quickly dashed out, only to be caught up by Ling Xiaoi shortly.
Gu Shishi was scrutinized from head to toe by Ling Xiaoi’s enthusiastic gossipy look.
“Shishi, are you in love?” asked Ling Xiaoi as her eyes widened. “Your entire body is exuding the lovely scent of being in love.”
Lovely? Gu Shishi almost bit her own tongue.
As they were chitchatting, they had arrived at the front entrance of the art center.
“Hey! Look at Gu Shishi in her aweso full knockoff youthfulness!” A an and sarcastic woman’s voice interrupted their conversation abruptly.
