“Human.” The spider’s raspy and creepy voice rang out very faintly in Elliot’s mind. “Beware the shadow parasites’¦ They are coming’¦ They are all coming here’¦”
“What? What shadow parasites?” Elliot asked the purple spider in confusion. However, the mindspace collapsed completely before it could reply.
The purple spider was finally dead.
“What was that about?” Elliot’s mind raced as he instantly concocted many different conspiracies and possible situations that could involve “Shadow parasites” which could cause a dying mutated spider to use his last breath to warn a human being.
“The receding alien power I felt might be the “shadow parasite” it ntioned. Or it might be the alien’s thod of controlling their beasts. Or both?
Are the aliens controlled by shadow parasites? If so then it doesn’t really concern ’¦ My world is already destroyed. And even if sohow I can make it out alive, my aim would be revenge anyway. Who cares if it’s revenge against aliens or aliens controlled by shadow parasites?
Unless the shadow parasites are targeting humans as well’¦ But why would they destroy the world? Unless the shadow parasites are not fully in control of the aliens yet’¦
“And the spider’s warning to was as though it still matters to ’¦ Or maybe it’s just warning of its fate which might happen to ’¦ But why would a spider do that? It’s not THAT kind, right? Maybe a power is controlling it? Another power in addition to that receding power I felt?
Or if it’s actually a nice and kind alien spider, then does it an that there is a community of beasts out there which are nice and kind? And how did they know about the Shadow Parasites?
Gahh’¦ So much for increased intelligence. I’m still floundering about here.”
Elliot shook his head and opted to file all these thoughts in the “important but not urgent” quadrant of his mind.
Even though it sounded terribly important, without more information, there was only so much that his advanced intelligence could do.
“Hawk, did this Mutated Purple Brood Mother evolve by eating the other two Brood Mothers?” Elliot asked.
[Affirmative. Traces of two different undigested beast cores are found within it.]
Elliot’s heart sank. If a re evolved legendary had caused them so much trouble, how in the world would he be able to deal with the Mythical Grade spider?
“Get the beast core and let’s get out of here.” Elliot instructed his beasts.
Imdiately, his summoned beasts tore into the Mutated Purple Brood Mother and took out its large head-sized beast core, as well as two fist sized beast core fragnts.
Elliot took it and kept it with the other beast cores he had collected in his dinsional storage.
And then he unsummoned his beasts and turned back to his Primal Feline Warrior form. “Co on up Calia, we’re done here for the night. I’ll find a spot for us to rest tonight.”
“Okay.” Calia climbed up Elliot’s back quietly.
However, just as Elliot was about to turn away and explore the town for a good spot to rest, his powerful 6th sense suddenly tingled.
It wasn’t danger, but it was sothing important.
He glanced around him, and felt his 6th sense resonate lightly when he faced the direction of the town square.
“The spider hole?” He instantly thought.
Elliot broke into a trot and made his way to the massive hole in the center of the town.
When he reached the hole, he was once again surprised by its size. It was at least thirty ters in diater, and so deep that he couldn’t see the bottom even with his powerful feline eyes.
“Errr’¦ Why are we here, Elliot?” Calia asked him uneasily.
“I need to check out the hole. Brock, Winter, co out.” Elliot said softly. “Protect Calia.”
Both beasts imdiately acknowledged his order and promptly positioned themselves next to her.
“Be careful!” Calia called out in concern as Elliot’s powerful Primal Feline Warrior’s figure disappeared into the hole.
The hole was sloped rather steeply, but Elliot had no problems traversing it.
After a few hundred ters or maybe even a few kiloters, Elliot arrived at a giant chamber.
Within it were thousands upon thousands of dead giant mutated spiders. Their numbers were so huge that even the fading glow of their cooling corpses still provided a dim illumination in the chamber, more than enough for Elliot’s feline eyes to have a clear view of the monstrosity that laid in it.
It was the Mythical Spider that Elliot was worried about.
At more than twice the size of the Mutated Purple Brood Mother, as well as a much thicker physique and a much thicker exoskeleton, the Mythical Spider looked absolutely nacing.
Its pure black colour with red, green and blue stripes also made it look very dangerous.
IF, it was alive.
Stunningly, the powerful Mythical Grade Spider was dead!
In fact, it looked like it had an extrely horrible death. It was mangled really badly everywhere and it was practically in pieces.
Its huge legs were broken in many places, and its fat abdon was splattered open with its juices and contents spilling out onto the ground.
Elliot was stunned.
He studied the cri scene very carefully and realized that a massive battle had taken place within the chamber.
However, it didn’t seem like it was a battle with the Mythical Spider.
Dead spiders were scattered all over the place, and it was clear that many of them died fighting each other.
What were they doing? Did the Mythical Spider summon them to have a fight to see who was the strongest?
Or’¦
Elliot’s eyes widened as the most plausible reason suddenly struck him.
“They were fighting to see who could eat the Mythical Spider!!” Elliot exclaid aloud.
