“Well, Mahck definitely agrees, but, hmm... and my friend Herth were going to fill our stomachs.” He spoke in an uncivilized manner.

This made Fiora cutely chuckle and speak. “If that's the case, would you and your friend Herth like to co eat with us? I know a location both of you would love, and the food is a bit more special than what they usually serve”

Mahck’s eyes lightened up sowhat. He reminded Avrin of Asura. Of course, another quality was his taste for good food, but he was more thoughtful. “Hm! Friend Herth, if you want to, then Mahck is ok with it too.”

Avrin was quiet for only a mont before he gave a soft smile. “Please don't mind . I would be honored for the chance. Let’s go.”

Mahck let a silent sigh escape his lips before gazing at Yuvi, who smiled back, and soon the small group was off. A minute passed before they entered the canteen. The students were all surprisingly young, and they were eating and enjoying themselves.

Avrin wondered why he hadn't seen many aged students. He had heard that even so people past fifty would also be enrolled, but he had yet to see any. He had thought of it as a matter of pride as well as sha. Of course, this was one theory. The other was the older students who had been here for decades may be training or not even be in the sa section as the younger ones.

“Here we are,” Yuvi happily spoke as they entered a well treated section with plants and clear wooden tables that were well maintained, as in a lively city. One could also see that everyone here was a Lotus Alliance mber.

“Oh, incredible.” Mahck whistled quietly as he and Avrin followed Yuvi to a large table at the very back near a set of windows that exposed the forest in an elegant manner.

“Indeed. Truly magnificent.” Avrin spoke, trying to make it seem that he was also surprised. “I'm glad you both enjoy it. Those of the Lotus Clan are all welco here. Of course, not anyone can join us. We need the strength to protect ourselves and others, so although it is with regret that we have strict requirents, it is for the best.”

Yuvi happily spoke. Of course, Avrin thought otherwise. “-Hmph… Your manner of speaking is just a lighter tone than those of the Phoenix Alliance no doubt-” He lingered on this thought for a mont as Yuvi continued to speak.

“My dear Mahck, the Lotus Alliance was ford by an alliance of several families headed by my own Allred family. That being said, the reason why it is ford by an alliance is because the Phoenix Alliance is in fact one family backed by an organisation they have ties with. This organisation has seen value in the land and materials that are scattered around our territories as well as those of smaller families. They think they can bully others and forcefully make them sell their lands by using force and dirty ans.

It was because of this that the Lotus Alliance was ford. We want to protect those who are wronged by the Phoenix Alliance. Our main goal is to be rid of them. Only then may we sleep peacefully and move on with our lives.”

Mahck listened and seed to be quite fascinated by Yuvi’s way of speaking. “The Phoenix Alliance bullies the weak, they truly are cowards!” Mahck grumbled angrily, which caused Yuvi to give a slight smirk as if she felt herself get closer to reeling him in.

“Lady Yuvi and the Lotus Alliance’s goals truly are incredible. But Mahck is my friend, and I can't help but feel maybe you would be using him as a tool for sothing that he has nothing to do with, and him gaining nothing in return.”

Mahck looked at Avrin, a little confused. Yuvi was sowhat taken aback by Avrin’s words. In truth, she looked down on him. He had seed to talk on Mahck’s behalf when it had nothing to do with him and was making it difficult for her, but she didn't dare to utter a word as he was still Mahck’s friend. Though this was only her, the nearby Lotus Alliance mbers seated on the other tables sneered and whispered in spite towards Avrin.

“Who is that bastard anyway?” One whispered while another replied, “How dare he talk to Miss Yuvi like that… If it wasn't for the person Miss Yuvi wanted to recruit, I would have already beaten him to a pulp.”

Of course, these words were inaudible for anyone to hear other than those around them as they were spoken in hushed tones. Of course, to Avrin it was all clear, which made him look down on the Lotus Alliance even more.

“Herth, was it? Please don't get the wrong idea. We would never use anyone as tools for us, we only seek those who are willing to help us achieve a safe environnt for the people around us. We don't have any ill intentions, and Mahck is a first year who is talented.

No doubt his future potential is limitless. With him by the side of our other geniuses we can strive towards justice not just for us, but for other people around the empire.”

Avrin didn't seem impressed and just shrugged as he spoke, “Well, I'm sure your intentions are good and all Lady Yuvi, but your Lotus Alliance is so miniscule when compared to the kingdoms and humanity's empire.

You speak as if you have experienced all the hidden dangers and all the lies and deceit that is behind closed doors. One must experience these kinds of things before one is capable of making decisions that are in the sa field of play.”

Yuvi’s eyes slightly narrowed as she gazed at Avrin. His words were indeed true, but for her to be spoken to like a child who didn't know any better made her heart twitch with anger and curiosity as to who Avrin really is to be able to speak in such a manner. But before she could reply, a young voice called out.

“Y..You bastard, just who the hell do you think you are?!” From a table not too far from Yuvi, a young boy wearing the Silver ranked student outfit stood up. One could tell he looked courageous as well as handso. He had several other people around him, several females who seed to look tough and interesting in their own respect as well as several males who didn't lag behind.

Everyone but Mahck was gazing at Avrin with disdain as the boy had spoken up. “Ley…” Yuvi quietly spoke before the boy continued to speak out. “My elder sister is not soone dumb...you think she doesn't understand anything? She struggles a lot and a weak nobody like you would never be able to understand that!”

While speaking, the boy didn't show any arrogance or ignorance. He spoke as if this were the entire truth and his tone made several of the nearby females gaze at him with passion and love while the males simply nodded with pride.

“Speaking to friend Herth like that…” Mahck’s muscles tensed as he felt anger rise up with the way the boy spoke to Avrin, who was his first friend on this continent and who didn't look at him strangely or tease him.

“Ley, that's enough…” She spoke towards the young individual who was in fact her younger brother. “Sis, I was just…” Yuvi glanced softly at him and smiled before Ley sighed and sat down again, remaining quiet.

Yuvi then gazed at Avrin. “Herth, your words aren't entirely wrong. I understand that I'm young and still have the world to experience, that is an issue I will work upon fixing when that ti cos. But currently, the issue at hand is for the Phoenix Alliance to be disbanded and removed.

This is the issue I am experienced in, and when the ti cos to branch out, it will be sothing I will tread carefully about. I don't think the Lotus Alliance is wrong, but in the end it is always the choice of those whom we want to join us. Mahck, it is your choice. Please know I am not forcing this upon you.”

She gave Mahck a soft smile, which seed to make his heart shudder a little. He nodded happily, clearly approving of her words.

“Mahck, Herth, my dream truly is to see this Lotus Alliance beco sothing that humanity can depend on. I understand the risks and challenges, but I am not alone. As you can see here, I have plenty of friends and comrades, even my little brother is with . Together, we can accomplish anything.”

She spoke with her own sort of pride, and it was well spoken in the eyes of others. Avrin quietly replied, “Lady Yuvi is truly admirable. I hope I can see the day when this happens. When the sky falls and the land shifts, when a dragon awakens or when those with real power strike, I want to see what you can accomplish with the power of this unity of yours. It is truly going to be a sight.”

Avrin’s words were not offensive or friendly, they were a truth that she had to understand. If you think being together is the only thing you need, how is it going to match up against all these disasters that require people with true power to defend against.

An Expert against a thousand non Experts who think being together is strength will not win, but a thousand Experts who are together and coordinate would truly be a force to be reckoned with.

Yuvi had shifted Avrin’s mind a bit. At first, he considered the Lotus Alliance to be just like the Phoenix Alliance, but looking at Yuvi, he could see she truly wanted to help people and dread of achieving a na for the Lotus Alliance. But her way of thinking for the long run was childish in his eyes.

Ley, though, seed to mishear Avrin’s words and stood up once more. “Ha! You think we can't handle ourselves and aren't worthy of helping humanity? You're wrong! We are more than capable together, as my sister said. Any one of us here is already stronger than so nobody Copper rank. How dare you try to lecture my sister, whose talent and genius is worlds above yours! You damn bastard, get lost and leave!”

Ley roared out in anger, starting a chain reaction as everyone looked at Avrin with annoyance. So even started telling him to get lost. While Avrin watched calmly, Yuvi blinked and tried to settle things down. But Avrin simply sighed.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“So be it.” As he turned to leave, a voice called out. “Friend Herth, I, uh…” Avrin stopped and turned to Mahck, who seed a little conflicted. Avrin simply smiled. “Mahck, this is your future and your life. It is up to you to decide what you want to do. It won't affect us talking to each other, just make sure you choose a path you're satisfied with and will strive towards the end.”

To Avrin, Mahck was soone who had suffered and wanted to take care of his remaining family. If sothing were to happen to him, his family would suffer. This reminded him of the situation of those who were converted to his race, people who had nothing and were abandoned by all, including the gods. He didn't want to do anything that would lead to increasing the number of those poor people.

“Many thanks, friend Herth... I'll settle this. I do hope we can speak soon!” Mahck happily spoke before Avrin nodded and left the Lotus Alliance area under the resentful eyes of the mbers who had cald down outwardly while trying to pierce into Avrin with their heavy, cold gazes.

Yuvi, although a little saddened by the outburst, was at least joyed that Mahck was now alone to be convinced by her. Of course, she was increasingly cautious of Avrin, who had spoken to her in such a way. She was, after all, quite a smart girl. She knew sothing about Avrin was off. She would surely pay attention to him for a good while.

After Avrin left, he returned to his room and was currently inside his inner workings, examining the progress of his particles. He had, of course, felt that blacksmithing and alchemy required a lot of ti and focus to improve at a rapid pace, but so did his own training, which is why, for the ti being, he put them aside.

He was certain in the future he would hand the knowledge of his alchemical discovery to his people in hopes of a genius sohow progressing it further without him. Of course, he didn't abandon it at all, but would wait until he was satisfied with his own strength before continuing.

He was quite happy as he saw the progress of his body. 19% had been converted to Type 4 particles. The speed increase per particle made truly was a marvelous feature of his body.

After deciding to spend the rest of the day focusing on helping the progress of his body, night soon ca and left seemingly just as fast, until the morning sun rose yet again. Avrin quietly opened his eyes as if he had set an internal clock. He revealed a soft smile, clearly approving of how 27% of his particles were now Type 4. He knew that by focusing his attention and energy, it made things much faster.

Standing up, he used Nebula Mist to refresh himself. As he had not a gram of fatigue, he decided to head to class, and soon arrived while taking up the sa spot. Of course, the quietness soon turned to chatter as students began arriving.

“Did you hear? I heard that yesterday the Lotus Alliance snagged a first year genius. Mahck is his na. He is the guy that beat a Gold ranked Phoenix Alliance mber in one blow, despite being Gold ranked himself! That's amazing!”

The students began to converse regarding the issues and rumors that occurred yesterday and in the morning. “-So he joined in the end, huh. Well, this is his path. It could be worse. I'm sure it's more peaceful than what he experienced in the Northern continent-” Avrin’s care was not at all that high. He knew Mahck could take care of himself, and he simply wished him the best.

But another piece of news made his eye twitch a little as it entered his ears. “Ah, that genius Mahck right? I heard the Lotus Alliance plans to have him enter the tournant!” Excited whispers continued on as so people began to contemplate this.

“My older brother knows soone in the Lotus Alliance. He said they want to show the Phoenix Alliance that they have a first year who is capable of fighting in the tournant while they don’t. A show of strength or sothing, I don't know!”

Avrin’s lips parted as he sighed slightly. “-That Yuvi, without knowing it, has already made problems for . So be it, though. If I encounter Mahck in the tournant I will still fight and win, regardless of it all. Her tactic of sending Mahck in is quite stupid, though.

It's only a temporary solution of lowering one side’s reputation a little bit, no worse than throwing a pebble in the Phoenix Alliance’s river. When the ripples subside, they will throw their own pebble in the Lotus Alliance’s river-”

The chatter died down, and the teacher soon arrived. Class had gone on with Avrin’s mind focused on the future issues and partnership with Lilia and how it could possibly lead him to Skytal. It made a smile appear on his lips.

With ti flying by, class ended, and Avrin decided to head towards the library. The rumours about Mahck seed to spread quickly, and he discovered a new piece of information. Apparently, the seniors who were over twenty-five were not allowed to attend the tournants here, but were tasked with focusing on their training to prepare for when Gaia Academy’s admittance begins.

No doubt Avrin felt that they would all be training sowhere, which is why he rarely had seen anyone over the age of twenty, with most being staff and faculty mbers.

While Avrin was thinking of this, he spotted people running through the halls, rushing to the windows. Avrin glanced to the side to see Mahck, who was in the training field, being surrounded by Gold ranked students and one Diamond ranked person who looked to be at least thirty sporting a disgusting grin.

“You're the Lotus Alliance’s so called genius first year, huh? We tried to recruit you, but I guess we ssed up sohow...” The student turned and glared at a Gold ranked student who happened to be the one that Mahck beat yesterday.

The glare was one of disdain, as if saying ‘look at the situation you caused’. Mahck said, “Hmph. You Phoenix Alliance think you can bully others and Mahck too? Not today or ever!” The Diamond rank student laughed softly, “You have it all wrong, but I guess using words won't an anything. I challenge you to a duel at the arena. Do you accept, Mahck?”

As soon as he spoke, a commotion broke out, with various students all chattering away. So were annoyed at how the Diamond ranked student could challenge soone who was younger and a level lower than him, it was clearly unfair. They didn't think Mahck would accept, but they soon ate their words and remained silent.

“A duel? Of course I accept!” Another commotion occurred soon after. “-Luckily I didn't reveal what I'm capable of. I'm sure I would be in the sa boat as him-” Avrin chuckled inwardly. As the two began to head towards the nearby open field arena, they were followed by many students, as well as Avrin, who was curious to see what Mahck was capable of in a tough fight.

“You made the wrong choice, Mahck. You should have joined us. The Lotus Alliance is a crappy place, you know?” As the Diamond ranked student spoke, Mahck began to tense his body and took a fighting stance. “Mahck thinks you Phoenix people talk a lot of shit and are two-faced. My friends from the Lotus Alliance are all good people.”

“Hmph, fine then!” The student took his own stance, as they had long since entered the arena, surrounded by students who watched. He charged towards Mahck with dazzling speed, his body emitting a red aura and his fists turning a lighter red.

A nearby Gold rank student who hadn't picked sides was watching with awe. “That's the expert level Phoenix Fist attack!” Avrin, who was watching and listening nearby, didn't seem too shocked, as he had seen better. Compared to Clovis’s attack, this seed like a candle’s fla.

“Take this!” The Diamond ranked student roared as he left a trail of fire while punching towards Mahck. Soon after, an earth aura pulsated across Mahck’s body, and it manifested into a rocky armor, covering Mahck and making him look like a golem.

The Phoenix Fist landed on the now rocky abdon of Mahck, piercing through a few inches and making Mahck step back several feet before he gained his balance. Mahck had to admit that this student was quite strong, but he felt he was stronger.

“My turn!” Mahck raised his hands and both his fists were forming large, rocky boulders that fused together as he smashed it downwards towards the Phoenix Alliance mber.

“Shit...” The student pulsed his energy a bit before dashing quickly to the side, managing to escape several ters. But as soon as the boulder-like hamr hit the dirt, the earthen aura around it entered the ground, causing a small crater to form before it rippled and split a little, making others feel it.

The student glared at Mahck. “-If I'm hit by that, I'll be a goner...” The Diamond rank student clenched his teeth and decided to use his speed. He began to charge towards Mahck and wailed away at his rocky armor to try and chip it it. Mahck roared out as he tried to hit him away.

Avrin, though, was a little dumbfounded. A fight between novices was really nothing special. It was as if they had one good technique and just kept using it. But he had to admit, the one who challenged Mahck had a good tactic of trying to use speed to defeat him.

Avrin felt Mahck must be really immobile with that armor and the two hamr-like fists. “Hahahaha, you can't catch !” The Diamond rank student laughed out, as Mahck had decided to focus on defence. After two minutes had gone by, he was eyeing things carefully. He didn't have many earth mana techniques, only ones he had obtained from his tribe.

“I'll have to use that-” Mahck grumbled to himself before emitting his earthen mana into the ground. He roared out as he raised his hamr-like fists again after allowing the mana to seep in. He felt a bit exhausted, as this required him to use a lot of his mana. “Shattered Canyon!”

The Diamond rank student felt sothing was amiss and was about to dash away again, but as he got two ters away, the ground within ten ters in diater split and shattered, causing his footing to loosen, which made him fall in a bit and beco stuck.

It was only for a few seconds, as he tried to get away, but it was enough ti for Mahck to appear just as the Diamond student jumped up in the air. Mahck smacked him with his hamr-like boulder hand, sending him spinning away like a swatted fly, until the student smashed against a nearby wall, leaving cracks as he spat out blood.

He fell onto the ground, limp. Soon, so Phoenix Alliance mbers rushed to help their senior, and cheers erupted from students and Lotus Alliance mbers alike. Mahck’s armor crumbled, as he didn't have the mana to keep it up. That last attack required a lot of mana to be focused on certain points of the ground to ensnare the enemy. He had far from mastered it, but had managed to use it well.

Mahck was sweating as he forced a laugh out and spoke. “Mahck will not be bullied easily!” As soon as he spoke, soone roared out. “Now!!” Suddenly, several dozen Gold rank students charged towards Mahck, seeing him weakened. This made Mahck quite surprised, as he clenched his teeth.

Avrin’s Divine Sense imdiately rippled out, and he used his Phantom Pulse to make them a bit heavier and slower as they made it to Mahck. This gave Mahck the advantage. Even if he was exhausted, his physical strength was enough to fight them off. But he sustained injuries, although not fatal.

Soon, the Lotus Alliance mbers also charged in to help Mahck and it beca an all out brawl until the teachers arrived. Of course, Avrin had already left, knowing it was no longer an issue. “I still have several days until the tournant, I'll focus on converting the rest of my particles to Type 4 until then.”

Having changed his mind, Avrin didn't go to the library. In fact, he had decided to go back to his room to focus on his body again, and decided he would skip classes for a few days until the tournant.

Avrin was now involved in an interesting plan to free the forr demon king. He knew he would need to beco stronger, as he may co across opponents stronger than him.

While he was tending to his own devices, a young individual was currently running across a forested landscape with a wide smile on his face.

This individual was Kael. “I hope master is doing well,” he thought to himself. The past few days for him had been enjoyable, as he spent ti going around and learning a bit while training and fighting wild creatures, as well as admiring the sights.

Suddenly, screams and the sounds of tal clashing against tal echoed out within the forested area. Kael’s eyes widened before narrowing a little as he rushed towards the source of it.
