’Breaking through’ with beer ant going to the bathroom after drinking—treating beer like water, showing no reaction to it, and not throwing up.
If soone ’broke through’ with beer, it would be even more difficult to get them drunk.
"He might ’break through’ with beer, but he certainly can’t do that with spirits," Zhang Hua declared calmly, then ordered his subordinates as if giving a command, "Switch to spirits. We’ll drink spirits with him until he’s puking and having diarrhea right here in this private room!"
