"So that’s how it is, how co you’ve never ntioned it before?" The elderly lady looked at Ye Shaohua in surprise, her previously indifferent gaze softened, "You are indeed fortunate, with the National Master being so divinely powerful. If he gives you so guidance, your future achievents won’t be so modest."

The National Master’s clan was a unique existence within the great Jin Wang Dynasty, with every National Master rumored to possess the power to communicate with the divine.

Even the most powerful Level 9 warriors were no match for the National Master.

Everyone in the Royal Court wanted to curry favor with the National Master, but unfortunately, he was rather aloof, not even giving face to the Emperor.

Moreover, everyone under his command was extrely formidable; it was said that his guards possessed the strength of Level 9 warriors. With Ye Shaohua’s current status, if her relationship with the National Master were to beco known, wouldn’t there be a multitude of suitors, even if she were an unremarkable woman?

"Is that so? I heard that the National Master has always kept himself quite pure and uninvolved; are you certain it was him?" the Ye Family lady clutched the chair beside her, staring intently at the butler.

"Yes, soone like him would never be mistaken upon sight," the butler nodded.

"Oh, that’s very good, very good indeed," the Ye Family lady pursed her lips, finding herself at a loss for further words.

She had thought her two children were exemplary enough, but after being continuously humiliated by a foolish girl born of a lowly concubine, rumors within the household began to spread that the concubine was trying to usurp her position as the legitimate wife.

She thought, at the very least, with Ye Shaohua dragging them down, she had one less thing to worry about—but now, unexpectedly... Ye Shaohua seed to be acquainted with the National Master...

The concubine had heard of such divine personages as the National Master.

But she was with Ye Shaohua almost every day; it would be impossible for Ye Shaohua to know soone she herself was unaware of.

"Shaohua, where did you find such people, to even deceive the old lady and the butler?" the concubine walked towards the courtyard, "How could I not know that you are also acquainted with the National Master?"

"You have seen him," Ye Shaohua glanced at her.

On hearing this, the concubine paused, "When have I seen him?"

"That day you entered my room without knocking," Ye Shaohua emphasized the words "without knocking."

The concubine instantly rembered the man who shone like the sun and moon, "He is the National Master!"

Well, the point is still not being grasped.

Ye Shaohua rolled her eyes.

She then headed straight to her own room.

That evening, Ye Zhaoyun returned and, as usual, spent most of her ti deep in thought.

She hadn’t been back for long.

When General Ye, returning from the military, heard from the butler and the mistress of the house that the National Master had co to see Ye Shaohua, he didn’t even change out of his armor before going to see her.

"Rest assured, today that Xie Zecheng wanted to enlist in the army, but I sent him packing with a beating!" General Ye sneered, "My daughter will not be bullied by soone like him!"

Only after asking about the annulnt of Xie Zecheng’s engagent did he bring up the National Master.

"Shaohua, you know the National Master?"

This question snapped Ye Zhaoyun out of her reverie, and she looked at Ye Shaohua with surprise.

Ye Shaohua, who was reading a book of miscellaneous topics, nodded lightly at the question, "Not well."

"No matter, just try not to make the National Master angry," General Ye thought she was naturally not well-acquainted, considering the National Master was known for his aloofness. But even a slight connection was unique.

Hearing the General’s words, the concubine glanced at him with a strange expression.

"Not to make the National Master angry?"

From what she saw that day, it seed more likely the National Master was trying to figure out how to calm Ye Shaohua down.

But the concubine kept this thought to herself and didn’t say anything.

Ye Shaohua did not reply either.

General Ye did not notice everyone’s reactions and concerned himself more with Ye Shaohua’s wellbeing, "Are you getting used to staying at the Ye Family’s? If you need anything, tell your mother."

Ye Shaohua nodded.

"I heard from the butler that you have been looking at the Heart thods for high-level warriors in the Book Pavilion; are you studying them?" Seeing that Ye Shaohua was not fond of talking, General Ye initiated another topic.

"Yes, I’ve learned a bit," Ye Shaohua replied indifferently.

General Ye did not inquire further.

Bearing in mind that out of the four Ye children, Ye Zhaoyun and Ye Shaohua had the least talent—though Ye Zhaoyun compensated for it with uncanny agility—he was not curious about the extent of Ye Shaohua’s practice.

To soone like Ye Shaohua who lacked agility and did not cultivate the Ye Family’s Heart thod, pursuing martial arts seed to have no future.

So, General Ye wasn’t at all curious about how advanced her mastery was.

"You know the National Master; did you ask him which Heart thods he’d include in the upcoming military Heart thod innovation?" General Ye suddenly asked.

"Heart thod innovation?" The mont Ye Zhaoyun heard this, she dashed out of the room, "Father, is it that innovation that can break through the Level 9 barrier and reach the Martial Saint Realm?"

"Exactly," General Ye said, surprised that Ye Zhaoyun knew of such a confidential matter.

The concubine was also startled upon hearing this, "Can Heart thods be innovated further?"

Ye Shaohua was the only one who did not react at all upon hearing this.

General Ye noticed her impassive deanor.

He found it sowhat amusing, considering his daughter had never studied Heart thods, why would the National Master confide in her about such secretive matters?

With that thought, he sighed and shook his head, "This matter remains confidential; pretend you never heard about it. Zhaoyun, co with ."

With that, the two of them left the courtyard.

The concubine, now a Level 3 warrior herself, had so understanding of Heart thods.

"Shaohua, can Heart thods really be innovated to break through to the Martial Saint Realm? It’s said that the continent hasn’t seen a martial artist above Level 9 in thousands of years," the concubine remarked with so emotion, "If it really happens, it would shake the entire continent."

Ye Shaohua went back to her chair and responded with one word, "Yes."

Upon hearing her decisive tone, the concubine said, "Don’t be so certain; breaking through as a Level 9 warrior is incredibly difficult..."

"The innovative Heart thod that Xuanyun has, which can break through to the Martial Saint Realm, was given to him by . The martial techniques of this world clearly have problems," Ye Shaohua said casually.
