Kunou loudly cheered with beaming exuberance as her spell went off like a bomb as the blue flas of her kitsune flas went up in a great mushroom cloud. Granted it wasn't at gumin's level of explosion magic.
But with my own magical talents, I already knew that Explosion magic was literally taking a fuck load of pure magic and then compressing it to fit the spell matrix's limit. And then violently splitting the mana in half to double the compression within the spell making it violently explode like an actual nuke.
Which wasn't a good form of spellcraft to have as your main form of combat so I wasn't too worried about it. Either way, I matched Kunou's smile even if more sedately as I watched the dust cloud filled with blue flas go up into the sky.
"Is it my turn now Kunou?" I asked jokingly and she gave a proud smile before made a cute noise as she turned her nose up.
"Oh go on ahead. Let see how great your magical powers is Jake Bariss!" She demanded almost arrogantly trying to get to outdo her own explosion and it was just adorable honestly.
I made a humming noise as I considered just making an even bigger explosion or doing sothing else and after a mont I tilted my head to the side and asked. "Kunou, do you want to see a big boom? Or see sothing cool or even beautiful?"
Her proud expression faltered at my honest question and after a couple of monts, she nodded and said. "Beautiful, style and finesse is more impressive than just a big explosion I guess."
I held my hands together and from between my hands ca a slowly growing tree of ice with roots growing beneath the dense darker Sitri ice. The air beca frigid cold even with my own magical energy keeping the dense sub-zero temperatures from truly spreading and Kunou's tails wrapped around her face to give her warmth as she stared in awe at the slowly expanding tree in my hands that was radiating a great amount of magical power.
A smile escaped from as I decided to ham it up a bit as the ice tree flew away from my hands and then shot outwards towards the castle. "Ice Style. Instant Christmas Tree!" I called out as a spell and then our vision beca dark as a deep rumble rang out.
Then our vision returned to normal as in front of us was the large castle that Beldia was previously in had been completely encased inside a massive tree of ice that shot up more than a hundred ters high with the sun's glow hitting its branches at odd angles that made it glow like a rainbow.
I looked down at Kunou and although she was trying to look stern, there was no hiding the joy at seeing the big sparkly tree of ice as she retorted automatically. "No! You are older and a lot stronger than , you can't look at eee with such a smug look!"
A burst of laughter escaped and I laid a hand on Kunou's head making her freeze with her eyes dilating as I rubbed between those adorable kitsune ears. "Alright alright, you did great Kunou. I shouldn't be try harding so much." I said and then with a final scratch and a head pat that made Kunou shiver for so reason, I popped my neck to the side and continued. "Alright, let's go deal with the undead monster in there." I finished.
While walking towards it I ntally grimaced at the thought and then with a ntal sigh, I decided to use my demon weapon this ti even if I didn't like it seeing how... Utterly fucking evil it looked with how it was almost a copy of Soul Edge.
Complete with the whole fleshy bits covering the sword along with a fist-sized eye that would help guide the greatsword into my enemy's weak points. Taking out my sword I felt the weak sentience within it almost seemingly stretching before it sent a signal of question before the taste of blood filled my mouth as it wanted to know what we were killing so I just ntally shoved the sword consciousness away from mine lest it try to do sothing else.
And Kunou reacted with an upturned lip to seeing the sword as she said bluntly. "Ew... But then again I have seen undead youkai so it's not that bad haha." She joked making feel a little bit better.
We quickly made our way towards the castle and as we reached it, my head tilted to the side slightly as I could feel in the ice sothing was struggling. 'Beldia managed to survive I suppose?' I thought as I raised up a hand and the frozen tree quickly lted a path in front of us allowing us to walk through the completely ice-filled castle.
The castle itself was only a main hold surrounded by high walls that had towers on the four corners of the walls so once we entered the central courtyard Kunou made a noise of disgust as we found several dozen monsters of various forms and sizes frozen in place with their eyes bulging in fear at Kunou's previous explosion and then as they were running around to the walls to find out who was attacking them...
I froze them all solid ending their lives.
'It's a pity I didn't bring Kazuma and the others here. I could have gotten them so easy level-ups.' I thought with a ntal chuckle before I said. "The big boss is still alive due to its undead nature. Just let finish it off real quick." I spoke as I led Kunou towards the main hall building and as I kept lting the ice I felt Beldia's struggle increasing as the ice weight weakened with my removal of it.
And finally, as I started lting the ice inside the hall a series of loud cracking noises rang out as Beldia using his undead dullahan strength began breaking the weakening ice so I told Kunou with an easy smile. "Stand over there please."
A loud shattering noise rang out as with a roar of anger Beldia in his dark armored form flared out his undead mana and his voice roared out. "You damned human! How dare you! I didn't even do anything to the town yet!?"
Spinning my soul-bound Soul Edge-like blade in my hands I willed it to shrink smaller into a more manageable blade and once it beca akin to a thin English long sword as I retorted. "You are a general of the fucking demon lord... Why should I wait for you to act? No, killing you will only help humanity and that is kind of my shtick, a goddess put a bounty on your... True death anyway."
Beldia's large sword swung at and I hopped backward to dodge it as I took in his form with my mystic eyes of death perception activating and I noted idly that his main body had zero death lines while his head was filled with them so should I land a hit on his head with my blade I would kill him damn near instantly.
"She did what? I only peaked at Wolbach in the bath a little!? Why would she try to have killed!?" He yelled out in anger making my face twitch at the reminder of how much of a pervert he was and I dryly retorted.
"Wolbach didn't send ... But it's telling that more than one goddess wants you dead.'' My words unsettled him enough that as he went for a powerful overhead swing I let it pass by and then as it was low I kicked his sword through the stone ground beneath our feet and with my shoes pinning his sword down using my other leg I punted his decapitated dullahan head out of his other arms grasp towards Kunou who caught it with a cry of surprise.
I then mustered up my mana and then with another Sitri magical glyph a flash of light was sent out with Beldia's body below where his head would normally be, was frozen solid again.
"Oi! Thats fucking cold man, let go! The demon lord and my fellow generals will have revenge for slaying I promise!" He yelled out and I dryly retorted.
"Good. That ans I get more money and favors with the divine in dealing with you dumbasses... Only Wolbach herself is soone I am mildly concerned about dealing with honestly."
The head was silent and then it tried to appeal to Kunou as Beldia said. "Little miss co on. Let go, tell your uhhhh father to let go please."
Kunou's face twitched as she looked between and the head while I wanted to punt the head like an Arican football for calling Kunou's dad... I wasn't that old dammit!
