Chapter 35 – Forceful Counter-Attack (强硬回击)
The students hadn’t known what had happened, but after hearing what Jiang Xia said, they instantly understood.
Jing Yunzhao closed her book and turned her head to face Jiang Xia, her eyes cold, “I don’t see how you were trying to help . Also, not everyone is Qiao Hongye. Not everyone can be as socially smooth and slick as her. You speak so imposingly and confidently. Those who are in the know would think you’re being kind-hearted. Those who don’t would think that you’re actually the son of Qiao Weimin!”
“Jing Yunzhao, how could you say that? Class Monitor’s so nice...” The committee mber sitting in front of Jing Yunzhao turned around and said.
The committee mber’s na was Ye Qing (叶青). She was pretty good-looking, and her grades were the second-highest in class. Jiang Xia and Ye Qing were shipped by the public as a couple, they just didn’t break through that paper window yet.
“The class monitor may seem nice to you, but what does that have to do with ?” Jing Yunzhao responded without hesitation. “You guys don’t understand soone’s past yet still try to presumptuously decide their future for them. Do you really think you’re Gods?! My problem with the Qiao’s is my business. I’m really curious, Class Monitor. Have you eaten so much salt to the point where you’re that bored? You want to apologize to the Qiao family? I’d like to know for what cause?!”
(T/N: Salty ( xian / 咸) is homonymous with idle/free ( xian / 闲 ). I used bored because it sounded better.)
Jing Yunzhao might have wanted a better reputation, but not to the extent where she would dance to soone else’s tune.
Sothing like a good reputation, she would possess it soday, but if people were still going to go against her like before, then she would not force it.
Jing Yunzhao’s stern aura made her quite scary, especially now when she’s angry.
“Like I said, it was the Qiao’s who’ve raised you for so long. Also, you won’t have money if you don’t go ho...” Jiang Xia stomach was full of anger, and his tone expressed it.
He had only ant well. He had never seen such a thankless person. No wonder no one liked her before. She deserved it!
After he said that, a frosty smile appeared on Jing Yunzhao’s face.
Everyone thought she owed the Qiao’s. Please, did she really owe them? Absolutely not!
“Great Class Monitor Jiang, you grew up in a hive soaked in honey, so you naturally don’t know how a person like had lived. I don’t mind telling you that before I even started school, I had already learned to do housework. You’re attending school for the sake of your future, I’m attending it for the sake of the scholarship money. The Qiao’s don’t pay a single cent of my school fees, and every cent I spent had all been earned honuorably. You said I was raised by the Qiao’s for so long? But why do I think that you’re siding with the Qiao’s?!”
Jing Yunzhao’s mory of the past 15 years gradually beca clearer.
When she was little, she had no abilities to make money, so she did her best to register for di?erent types of contests. She especially picked those that o?ered prize money. All the other contestants had their parents with them, but she was always alone.
When she entered junior high, the things she needed to spend on increased. So, she made use of the weekends to work part-ti. However, she was too young, and no one wanted her. Every day, she worked hard only for a agre amount of money.
In the past, she had believed that Ye Qin and Qiao Hongye only made her do that because they wanted her to grow up to be soone worthy of respect. But now, she understood that they didn’t even want to waste a single al of rice or porridge on her. If she really did owe the Qiao’s, then she had already repaid them in her past life.
Jiang Xia completely didn’t expect Jing Yunzhao to say such things and stared at her blankly.
Jing Yunzhao didn’t use the Qiao’s money for her school fees? Even her living expenses were earned by herself? No way...
“I don’t care if you’re only being nice or doing it with malice, but from today on, I don’t want anyone to act like Great Class Monitor Jiang and persuade to return to the Qiao family. This is the first and only ti that I’ll excuse it. If there’s a second ti... I’ll let you know that even a go-between would have to face the consequences!”
