Chapter 402: Welco to Hell!
Jace waved at the girls as they walked up to the bus. Today, they were looking less excited and more determined. He just hoped that Cho did not overdue it and accidentally kill another kid. But he would deal with that problem if it ca up. Thinking about it now if another parent saw what he taught him they would think he was crazy. But he grew up in the backstreets in a rundown orphanage that rarely saw any of the ’money’ that ca in to fund it.
Once they were on the bus he turned to Cain and the garage door began closing. "Are you going to join us today?" Jace asked as he changed into a more comfortable set of clothes before opening the VR pod.
"Not today. I want to watch the VR pod systems for today. If everything is fine then I will join you tomorrow." Cain answered as he moved over to a monitoring station that they had set up last night, just in case. You could never be too careful.
Once the pod was open he climbed inside and watched as the door closed and then sealed. Then he began relaxing as the interface woke up. He quickly swiped through a few things. Quickly programming and the simulation for the day before dressing himself in a black t-shirt, camo cargo pants, black boots, and a black hat with red letters that said ’Cerberus’.
He then pulled a pair of aviator glasses out of the air and put them on as the training field appeared around him. It was a field of sand and rocks with a shooting range, a command tent, a barracks, a maintenance area, an aircraft area, and a chanical area. Just so anyone like Jace could tinker in their ’down’ ti.
This would be the perfect lobby for his new unit. Almost as if on cue a number of people began appearing. They imdiately began looking around in confusion. Jace let them for a few minutes as he stood on a small wooden box so he was clearly ant to be a bit taller than the rest of them.
Jace waited and watched as out of the corner of his eye a hidden interface showed the list of people who should be here but weren’t, were labeled as red. While the people who were here were labeled as green. He watched as they stood in front of him in no sequence or pattern.
For the mont there were only two captains present of the eleven they had overall. He would hope the others were following his training sims and adjust their training regints on the fly like he ordered. When they were all gathered together he would be able to do a lot more. But for now he would have to do with the scraps they had available.
Once all of the people were labeled as green he whistled.
Wooooo!
It cut through the air and caused most of them to cover their ears. But all of them shut up and looked to the source of the loud whistling, just like he wanted them to. Jace nodded his head and then spoke loudly.
"Listen up!" Jace stared off while glaring at the new mbers of his unit. "You have been recruited into the Cerberus Mobile Response Unit! That ans you are my subordinates! Since you are now my subordinates it is up to
to train you however the hell I want to! Now before we can even get to that point, I have to apparently organize you like you are a bunch of new recruits!"
Jace raised a hand and snapped his fingers.
BANG!
It was as loud as a gunshot and caused most of them to duck their heads. But then a mont later they watched as nas appeared above their heads. But the way they were set up was strange.
"Listen up! So of your more intelligent compatriots may have noticed that there is sothing strange about the setup! That is because not all of the captains are present! In fact, the majority are not, they are off training with other recruits! Since that is the case! If your captain is not present, you will vote for one of your lieutenants to take their place!" Jace announced as he looked around. The soldiers were already lining up. He could already see two of the divisions that were lacking in manpower.
Then a hand was raised and he nodded at Lieutenant Vaz, "what happens when our captain is present but we do not want to hand back the position?"
"In a month from now, after our first mission. I will initiate a program so anyone can challenge for a higher ranking position. When it cos around I will explain it more. But for the ti being my word is law." Jace answered as he looked around. "Now start picking your temporary captains."
Jace went to step down but saw a hand was raised. He nodded at Captain Tyler. "Does that include your position?"
"It does. When the temporary captains are picked, co join
in the command tent. Actual captains can co join
now." Jace announced as he stepped down from the wooden box and walked past the now organized soldiers and toward the command tent. Vaz’s question reminded him that he did not set up an arena. But then again he could set it up in the real world. Actually it would probably be a good idea to set it up in the real world. He would have to discuss this later with the High Priestess when this ca up.
Jace walked into the command tent and objects began appearing as he programd them into existence. He stood opposite of the entrance with his arms crossed when the last item appeared. A large table that was basically set up as a mission interface. Jace would explain the missions to his people here.
There were no chairs in the room since that would invite laziness. There were a few small wooden boxes set to the side so smaller people could stand on them. But that was about it. Aside from the fake coffee and tea station the only other item of luxury was the rug.
The command tent flap opened and the others began entering.
