"So did the dwarves map out the galaxies? Or are they just split up between territories?" Jace asked as he ate a fry. Gorund and him have been exchanging information for a few minutes now.
All of Gorund's questions are about how a device works. Not how a device was made or how to make one work. He asked about the theory and ideas that went into creating them. So it was more like he was learning.
He was not the only one either. Jace was learning so information and he was actually recording it on a data pad. He would probably have to hand it off to the High Priestess later. It was information that would be extrely useful when they started to reach beyond this galaxy.
"No, after the first few wars the dwarves beca xenophobic. Especially towards humans or those descended from humans. It was typically them who were involved in war. So humans are typically seen as the common denominator when it cos to war." Gorund explained, causing Jace to chuckle.
"Makes sense." Jace shrugged. "Are there any current wars going on or last ti you checked?"
"Do you an besides the war that is going on in this galaxy? Yes, there are a few. But those involve groups that are farther from this galaxy so I do not believe you have to worry about them just yet. Tell , how far back have your people tracked your ancestors?" Gorund asked as he went to grab his bear and then frowned when he noticed it was a glass of water.
"Back to Earth, or its alternate na, Terra. Although we have a giant gap in information between us leaving ho and coming to this galaxy. Not even the Cthon has information relating to that." Jace explains as he gets up and grabs a bar of tal and walks over to the material printer. He then had it begin printing two items.
Gorund got up and grabbed his container of beer. But he stopped and burst into laughter when he saw what Jace was printing. "Terra huh. That's better than most. Most galaxies get caught up in their own beliefs and say sothing along the lines of angels delivering them from heaven."
Jace flinched and then sighed. "Yeah we have a group like that too."
"I know, The Holy Empire." Gorund mocked. He then seed to think of sothing. "You said the Cthon right? Is that the Cthulians? We encountered them as well. Bunch of war mongers they are."
Jace raised an eyebrow. "Not in this galaxy. They only have three systems and they have a strange hierarchy and tend to prefer dominating in trade rather than anything else. In fact, I do not believe they have that strong of a military. The only reason they were not wiped out like a few other races was because of their rare tals and materials trade."
"Ahh… clever. Are there any other races I should know about? Like you said there were a few that were wiped out." Gorund pointed out as he sat at the table and ate a few more fries while the others whipped up food in the kitchen.
"Umm… There are a bunch who are almost extinct but off the top of my head I can only think of a few. There are Giants, Sirens, and rfolk." Jace explained as the printer finished and he carried two large tal mugs into the kitchen.
"rfolk are fairly common. Giants… there is a galaxy full of them, they are very much a warmongering race. Then Sirens… I do not think I have ever heard of them. There are definitely mythos and legends but I never heard of any living ones. Hell, even us dwarves have so stories surrounding them." Gorund declared with a grunt.
"Hmm… well we have so myths and legends around them as well. They fit the legends. Sirens are beautiful, they can breathe underwater and mainly live underwater. Their voices can be a weapon. But they do not have tails for legs like rfolk." Jace explained as he washed the mugs, cleaning them before they used them. Just to get the excess tal shavings out.
"How bad is it?" The dwarf asked as Jace walked over and set down two mugs. Gorund began filling them both with bear that was quickly foaming up. But the dwarf frowned when he saw it and mumbled under his breath, "shitty beer."
"The Vexical Empire, The Rogue tal Legion, The Oda Empire, and the Woltar all created laws to protect them and any hybrids created from coupling with them. I assu it will be one of the many laws that the empire wants to bring into the Victorium as well. The rest of the human nations and even the Cthon still go around selling Sirens. Hell, even the New Hexarian Republic did it." Jace explained as he sat down next to the dwarf.
"Hmm…" The dwarf was deep in thought while he looked at the beer foam.
"If you are dissatisfied with the beer, you could always make your own. It is not exactly illegal. It is just illegal if you try to sell it without a license." Jace suggested as he took a sip of the beer. The dwarf had definitely gone for quantity over quality.
"Mhmm… I probably will. You know we are stuck on station for a few months. Apparently the High Priestess is creating a new unit of mixed soldiers. She wants to make a special response task force. But apparently it will not be ready for a few months. Do you mind if I stick around here and tinker during that ti?" Gorund asked as he leaned back. Letting Jordan place a plate full of food in front of him.
Jace had a sinking feeling when he heard Gorund's words. "No, I do not mind. Sleep where you can. The girls have the second floor. Just run it by
if you plan to build sothing or want to modify sothing of mine."
For so reason he was already suspecting that this mixed special response task force would include his squad.
