Chapter 350: Two More Seats

The young woman looked bewildered and not expecting the response and then a light of clarity seed to dawn on her. "If you need money-"

"Ha- no. I do not need money. I am plenty wealthy on my own." Jace shook his head as he leaned back. "Besides I am only here for a few months and then I leave. I would just be putting a band-aid on the issue if soone cos in to replace him. Not to ntion there is also his boss, when they hear an outsider is pushing in that will end up being a whole headache that I do not want to deal with." Jace explained as the waitress set down the first aid kit and tried to treat the older of the two girls. "Can you get these two dishes and so soda, any flavor, that is for Cho." Jace took the first aid kit and slid over a chair to sit next to him. He patted it and then motioned for the younger girl to sit in an open seat at the table.

The older of the two girls sat to his side as he grabbed so salve from the kit. While the younger pair perked up revealing a pair of ears atop her head. A second pair when considering the ones he could see clearly on the side of her head. That was a unique characteristic of hybrids from partially compatible variations of humans.

The younger girl moved and sat down at the table next to Cho who seed to bristle and then seed to ntally talk with sothing as the young girl went slack faced before she nodded her head vigorously.

They must be communicating telepathically.

"So then what should I do because I can’t continue on with this. Haunson- the farting man, he will just send

off to the brothels in a few months. That is where he sends all the girls that turn thirteen." She inford him as she flinched in pain as he put so salve on her bruises.

"Really, what about the military academy? I can already tell that both you and your sister have the system. So you should be able to at least go to the academy for a few years." Jace asked and watched them flinch and look away.

"Hau- the farting man, took everyone from the orphanage off the list. He paid off so local military- what are you doing?" She asked as Jace pressed a few buttons on his communication device.

"Calling soone." Jace answered. "What is the na of your orphanage?"

"Uh... Just the Waterways Orphanage. Why would you bother with corruption in the military? It is not like you can do sothing about it. They say the guy they are paying off is a captain who is stationed here." The young woman pointed out as she batted away his hand once he got to her lip.

Jace prepared to answer when the communication went through. "Jace, you are still on vacation. What are you doing calling ? You are supposed to be relaxing. Not trying to get so more work ’wink’ ’wink’." Jace stopped for a mont and looked at his communication device as he heard Director Fenrir.

"What I- you know what? I can not just call the new military commander. But this concerns corruption aboard the Princess’ Pride. I thought that fell under both of your divisions." Jace pointed out as he looked back at the young woman. He dabbed at her bleeding lip with a disposable wipe, cleaning the wound.

"Oh... that is a bit of a gray area at the mont. We are actually having a lot of problems. So the MPs are having to rely on reports. What do you got? I will pass it off to the HP and she can handle it since she is staying on station for a bit. Am I on speaker?" Director Fenrir asked after she finished speaking.

"Yup, there is a Captain on the station who handles the orphanages. Apparently all the children at the Waterways Orphanage have been taken off the testing list for the academy." Jace inford her and he could hear her contemplate his words.

"Yeah... that falls under the admiral’s division. But the military can handle that because he is not available to set up a system and it sounds like this person is still considered as part of the military." Director Fenrir answered with a sigh. "I will hand this off. But what should we do with the culprit?" She asked absentmindedly. He knew she was just asking casually because she was thinking.

"We are at war. Why don’t you send him to the front lines?" Jace asked jokingly. But the silence afterwards was clearly her considering it.

"That would be expensive if we sent him in armor. But the Victorium Military has a redemption troop. We can send him along with several of our military criminals with the bare minimum on a suicide run against an enemy position. I am looking at the information on the troop and it is pretty interesting. Yeah let’s do this! Okay, have a fun vacation!" Director Fenrir then hung up.

Jace chuckled as he started putting away the first aid kit. He slid it away now that they were done with it. He could tell the girl had not even realized he had not only patched up her new ones but redid her old band aid.

"How can you just call soone to get that taken care of?" The young girl asked. She looked around. "Most of the adults around here just avoid us. Assuming our life is over with. The only decent ones are the ones working at this restaurant. That is because the owner is a forr mob boss who retired. Haunson knows not to ss with his people."

Jace looked over as the waitress ca out with their food. "Let the kids order anything they want. I will pay for them." Jace told her as she set the food in front of her. He turned his head slightly as he could hear clear down the street near his new place. There were people trying to break in. But Cain just had the Hollows just stun them from the roof. "As for why I can do that. It is simple. Because I am strong."
