The electricity disappeared and he could see the armor had not taken any damage. "Okay, I think that is it. What is the armor grade?"
"The armor itself is impenetrable by normal ans. But there are gaps between the armor which sothing going at mach three speeds can penetrate. But as great as your armor is, if you get hit by sothing explosive or a force that knocks you off your feet you will still go flying." The engineer explained. "Then there are your limbs, you can still break them if soone overpowers you and bends it the wrong way."
Jace chuckled as he noticed sothing. "There are no places or spots for gear or weapons storage." He pointed out as he moved and picked up his clothes and communication watch.
"Ahh… yes." The engineer nodded before moving and pushing over another cart that he quickly pulled off a cloth cover. "I found it was detrintal to the armor's design so I made pouches and storage areas that would magnetically stick to parts of your armor. It is also possible to make parts of your armor magnetic so you can store weapons on your person."
Jace nodded as he stepped forward looking over the pouches, "Okay so then we just need to test-"
"Spectre Jace, Private Ulin, Private Charlie, report to Hangar Three with full gear and equipnt. You are being deployed." Jace was interrupted by Director Fenrir's voice coming over the speaker system.
"Uh oh." Spectre Dahlia mumbled. "Sounds like you will not get ti to get used to the new armor."
Jace went to respond when the armor synced up with his watch. He received a ssage and a few notices. He sighed and moved to the automated pod which reverted back into the contained version. He stepped behind it and picked it up. "They sent an array of pockets and containers I can pick from to the hangar already." Jace told them. "Good luck!" He told them as he walked out. He would go to his room first then he would report to the hangar.
He was able to quickly pack a small bag, similar to the one he had when he was aboard the Anvil. He then carried it all to the hangar. When he entered he was stared at intensely. People stopped working and stared at him. Others fell or crashed while they were doing sothing.
With each step there was a thud as he moved. He walked towards the Puddle-Jumper where Ulin and Charlie had stopped moving boxes to stare at him. He walked up to them. "Ulin, do we know what's going on yet?" Jace asked.
Ulin took a mont to process who was talking to her. "Umm…no, Spectre Jace." She answered and the people started moving but glanced at his armor. While Jace moved into the back of the Puddle-Jumper. They had put all gear and baggage in the center area. While the sides where canvas seats were located was untouched aside from the open spots above the seats for personal bags.
Jace put his bag above the seats and then set the automated pod down in a spot it would not get in the way. He quickly looked through the bags. Nothing extra had been packed yet. He moved out of the Puddle Jumper just as more people ca towards them, with Director Fenrir leading them.
Jace opened the case, finding all of the equipnt that was sent because it was an ergency. A Pyre with several magazines and plenty of ammunition. A few magnetic pockets he could use for the magazines. Then there was the Dragon's Breath and a few batteries that were already charged. There were a few more weapons but underneath it all at the bottom he could see a few bags of super heavy ammunition and a modified version of the tri-barreled cannon he found back on Bastion. It had been only a day since he had returned and they had sohow already modified the original design he had given them.
There was a new assault rifle, the Wildfire, and its ammunition. The Spitfire and its ammunition. Then the last one was the railgun, it had ammunition as well set aside. The railgun was just called Railgun J-8. It was the final design that he and the weapons departnt had decided on. He closed it back up and moved it onto the Puddle-Jumper before coming back just in ti for Director Fenrir and the others to arrive.
"Sorry for sending you out so suddenly. But the civil war in the Victorium has just started." Fenrir apologized as the others including Vana started moving onto the Puddle-Jumper and packed their personal bags away. She looked over Jace and then nodded, "That is so nice armor. The rest of your new squad is back on the Victorium capital world."
"How are we getting there? I doubt they gave us a map." Jace pointed out as Director Fenrir pulled out several tal plates and handed them to him, Ulin, and Charlie.
"You are going to et the Victorium ship you will be stationed on in Waterswan. They will bring you to the Victorium capital world. Fortunately it is almost done with its refitting but you still need to get there before they leave." Director Fenrir then nodded at the plates. "Put those on the pauldrons of your armor."
Jace looked over the emblem, because that is what it clearly was. A three headed dog with writing in Requiem on the bottom that ant, 'Guardians of the Afterlife.' He looked back up at her and then put the emblem on the shoulder of his armor. It stuck to the armor.
"Congrats on your new command. The Cerberus Squad has not been in use since the founding of the Vexical Empire. So do right by them and never lose." Fenrir inford him while looking around. "There are more already boarding with so equipnt that was sent ahead of ti. But these people include the doctors, a few engineers, soldiers, and pilots that will be going with you."
"Anything we should know about our new ship?" Jace asked as he brought his hands up and pulled off his helt. The armor still felt nice but he had not completed his modifications to the HUD, so it was still distracting. He also did not need to do any digital work for the mont.
Director Fenrir moved from foot to foot for a mont, "yes the Victorium General in charge is soone you have t before. A general called Isaiah the Hamr. The ship has been modified so it can have both the Victorium and human occupants. Isaiah is the only person you and your squad operates under. So do not let them try and push you around." Director Fenrir thought for a mont before pulling out a data pad and sending sothing. "I just sent you the entire file just in case, sa with the rest of the people who are going."
"Any additional objectives?" Jace asked as he noticed the Puddle-Jumper was almost completely packed up.
"No, just make sure you get yourself well liked by the general populations of the Victorium as well. It will go a long way so we can be properly inducted into the alliance." Director Fenrir nodded and then walked over to Vana. Speaking to her for a bit.
Jace took the mont to check to make sure everything was packed. Once he determined it was he walked onto the Puddle-Jumper just as Director Fenrir was walking off. "Good luck!" She called out as the ramp went up.
Jace saluted and then walked toward the front of the Puddle-Jumper as he felt it lift off. His helt was still in hand as he walked past all of the people sitting in their seats. They were clearly nervous as it moved forward. There were no extra seats for him so he would stay standing.
He nodded at Ulin, Charlie, and Vana who were all sitting near the front. They were talking as he walked past. He then walked to the pilot's area and stood behind them as they went into slip space. The warp and faster than light engines turning on at the sa ti.
He humd for a mont before stepping back. He would modify his heads up display while he waited. But after he put on his helt he found the docunt that Director Fenrir had sent. It was detailed about the type of political and social moves that they might make, what they should do in response.
Then as Jace began modifying his HUD he received a burst of docunts. It detailed not just the basic information that the Director had sent them. But a list of nas and breakdowns. There were only five of them but from the ssage it seed like the next group of Spectres in training had been picked. Jace would be in charge of training one of them once they left the academy which was only a few months down the line. Jace set it aside for now. He may have first pick but he could always do it in a few days when he was not as busy.
