Jace smiled as he listened. "You only see three. There are at least five from my count. Seems like they are not going to let this go without a fight." Tako pointed out from his vantage point. "Two motorcycles and three detective civilian vehicles."
"I can take care of the motorcycles. How about the cars? What are we going to do about them?" Ulin asked as they could hear the growling of the motorcycle in the background.
"We are going 'nonlethal' people. These are law abiding citizens of Woltar. Ulin, disable the motorcycles without killing or maiming anyone. I have an idea for the other vehicles. Vana I am sending the location of a mostly remote road. Head there, when you drive past
just keep going." Jace told her as he cracked his neck before pulling off the road to position himself.
A few minutes passed before the growl of motorcycles and then a crash and a smash in the background of Ulin's communication device. "Motorcyclists are down and their vehicles are disabled."
Jace watched in his rearview mirror as the black SUV with Vana and Ellis turned the corner and started coming down the street. He watched as the detective vehicles disguised as civilian vehicles began flashing lights and an alarm.
"They are trying to get us to pull over." Vana told them over the communication channel.
"Speed up and drive past ." Jace told her as he lowered the window and aid his silenced Pyre out of it.
The black SUV zood past him. Then the car directly behind them veered into the other lane while trying to get past them.
PSSH!
His bullet went into the tire of one of the front wheels causing it to veer off and slam into a car parked on the side of the road. The second vehicle was just as surprised as he shot out their tire.
PSSH!
They crashed into another parked car and completely blocked off the road just ahead of where Jace was parked. The third car skidded to a halt and began turning around, likely to go and find another way around.
"The first two are down. I will follow the last one and immobilize them. Ditch the SUV in a parking garage. Tako and Patrick go pick them up and make sure to disable the caras just in case." Jace told them as he started up his car and pulled away following the last police car as the occupants of the other two were climbing out of their own crashed vehicles.
Jace followed them as they transferred to another street parallel to the one they were just on. He fully rolled down the window and aid his silenced Pyre at one of the rear tires and fired.
PSSH!
It suddenly began scraping against the ground and was wildly moving as Jace pulled to the side as he passed them. Placing the silenced Pyre back on his passenger seat. He looked in the rearview and saw an anthro-wolf old man and anthro-wolf woman with orange hair climb out of the vehicle. They had run into the back of another car when they lost control. He saw her pointing in his direction as he drove away.
"Okay, the last one is gone. Ulin, go hide the motorcycle inside of the mansion. They noticed this vehicle so I have to ditch it and get another. How are you guys doing?" Jace asked as he pulled into an underground garage.
"Good we are on our way to the mansion. Do you want us to wait for you?" Vana asked, hers and Ulin's were the only ones that were still on. The others had hung up since they were using Vana's device for the mont.
"Yeah we are in the final stretch here." Jace answered as he stopped in a parking space.
"I am good as well. Are you sure you do not want
to ditch the motorcycle?" Ulin asked.
"That is my personal vehicle, please do not drop it off sowhere. I can get it cleaned after we finish here so it is not wanted anymore." Vana explained with a voice of urgency.
Jace smirked as he put a device into a dashboard of the sports vehicle and everything was fried inside. He then grabbed all of his equipnt and stepped out of the vehicle. He raised his silenced Pyre and shot the cara he was in view of without looking at it. Then he walked over to a gray van.
He jimmied open the door and then hopped inside finding the interior spacious. He then plugged a device into the dashboard and it started up a mont later. He pulled out and drove out a mont later as he was driving away he saw a flood of police cars pull into the underground garage from his rearview mirror.
Seed they really did not like it when he disabled their vehicles. He took an hour before he arrived at the mansion. He was the last to arrive and climbed out of the van with all of his equipnt.
He walked up and entered, closing the door behind him and walked directly to the living room where the others were gathered around Arthur Sanders who was looking around with a gag and a look of fear in his eyes.
"Did you tell them?" Jace asked as he set his things off to the side.
Vana shook her head, "no not yet. Did you want
to tell them?"
Jace picked up the files and papers he got from Chen that morning and handed them to her. "Tell them while I start this." He instructed before stepping forward and looking down at Arthur. He removed the gag.
"I do not know what is going on. Who are you people? What do you want? Do you want to know about Devan's business as well? He never told
anything about it. I swear." Arthur declared, bumbling over his words in a hurry.
"Not very observant are you?" Jace asked with an eyebrow raised.
"I an… I may have known he does sothing less than legal. But I swear I never asked about it." Arthur was shaking his head to drive ho his point.
Jace shrugged, "I believe you." Jace then took a deep breath and looked him in the eyes. "Now, I am going to torture you." Jace told him and Arthur froze.
The life disappeared from Arthur's eyes and his body went rigid while his hands which were struggling before beca relaxed. A mont later he began sitting up taller while he looked directly ahead. His body relaxed far more than before.
Jace raised an eyebrow and looked at Vana who nodded as she held a datapad and was ready to type everything down. "First question, where is Devan's warehouse where he collects the goods he is not able to sell or get rid of?" Jace asked while grabbing a chair so he could sit opposite of Arthur who was tied to his own chair.
"An abandoned Grand Hexarian Empire undersea base. To enter you need to go through an underground passage or use the built-in system it has to connect to spacecraft. The exact coordinates are-" He began rambling off a bunch of numbers. After he finished he stopped.
Jace nodded and then took another breath. "Second question, what are the nas of Devan's ships which are moving his goods?" He waited until he got another nod from Vana before he asked the second question.
"There are six spaceship's, six airplanes, and eleven cargo sea ships which are moving his goods. Cargo sea ships are called-" Jace clicked his tongue as he began listing the cargo ships. He screwed up and said ship instead of spaceship. But Vana was still writing it down so he waited until Arthur got to the spaceships. "Devan's spaceships are Ram's Revenge, Hexagonal Savior, Devil's Advocate, The Goatee, Sacrificial Lamb, and Rigorous Ritual."
Jace nodded and could hear so of the other's whisper behind him. "I can not believe that Devan programd his own boyfriend without his knowledge. Why would he do that?"
"Because he wanted to keep him safe, now shut up. Jace is about to finish with the last question." Vana whispered back.
"Last question, where are the locations where you dropped off all of the goods you were bringing to the client known as Lord Hoodwink?" Jace asked, causing the others to all be confused. Ulin understood who he was so she sucked in her breath. Salem had talked about the monster in human skin who had turned so missing soldiers into monstrosities.
"There are three locations. The first is an asteroid near the edge of the Artemis System. The exact coordinates are-" Jace listened and morized the coordinates just in case. "The second location is a Vexical communication station in the Sister System, Communication Station number seventy one. The third location is an abandoned moon in the Uris System. The Leonair had fashioned it into a joint research center with Lord Hoodwink." Arthur answered before he suddenly went relaxed and he blinked his eyes, "umm… was I asleep?"
Jace looked at Vana who nodded. "Okay then. Ti to pack our things we leave in a few hours. Patrick, bring her and co with . We are going to drop her off at her new ho." Jace then turned around and made a call up to their ship. He had a few requests to complete before they left this planet.
