Even though I had no point asking her these questions, it was better to have so information than none since she would tell about things as long as it's not related directly to the contract. I was trying to extract as much intel as I could so that I could use them later.
"So Devil-chan… these targets, they are just an empty container for the souls, right?" With a slight pause I asked as she replied with a soft hum, "Yes…"
My gaze was on a random girl passing by , as I looked towards her and asked, "What if that girl gets a soul inside her?" As Lilith didn't reply, I added, "Will she beco a target, then?"
"It's not that simple." After a while of silence, she replied in a hesitant tone, and I prodded her to continue. "Eh?"
Lilith let out a slight breath, and with a soft voice, she started speaking, "Yeah… it's like trying to pour 5 litre water in a 2 litre bottle."
She was good at giving examples, or maybe this wasn't really tough to understand for them. That's why she explained it so easily. But I got the idea of how a soul resides inside a body. Nodding slowly, I asked, "So… like the body must be sufficient for the soul?"
"Yes…" She replied, and as much as I could comprehend into simpler words, I said, "In other words… compatibility?"

"Exactly!" Lilith exclaid in a rather cheerful tone, but it sounded more like an attempt to make stop asking questions, as she groaned and scolded , "Anyways, stop distracting … I'm trying to locate her!"
I waited for a few monts while glancing around as there were a lot of students walking past while I kept looking at every other girl in hope of finding the next target soon.
"Wait… I can feel her mana… closing in…" After a mont of silence, I heard her voice mumbling as I looked around too, but subtly so as to not give off a creepy vibe.
Everyone seed rather normal to . The mark on my hard only activates once the target gets captured, which was a good feature, but I wanted it to respond in so way if I was near the target unknowingly. Then again, I would rather not feel that stinging pain in my arm again.
As there was a hint of uncertainty in her voice, Lilith suddenly said in a sharp and confident tone, "There she is!"
"Where?" I asked her in confusion as she replied, "That girl…"
Everyti she would introduce a new target to , glimpses of all the events that happened with the other targets would flash in front of my eyes as I would feel a strange nervousness. With a gut wrenching feeling, I asked, "Yeah… tell her description…"
"That one… see she is laughing with her friends… ginger hair…" She said as my eyes gazed around to find a girl laughing but there were a lot of girls around so it was hard to pinpoint a single one laughing.
As my eyes slowly adjusted to the crowd and I found the girl who was laughing, a strange feeling of emptiness hit as I stood there with my mouth hung open. The only words I could utter were, "No fucking way!"
"What happened?!" Lilith asked in confusion with a hint of concern in her voice, as I asked her in an agitated tone, "She is the target?"
"Yes… Shiraishi Suzuha. She is the sa age as you. Is she your classmate?" Lilith seed to nod her head as she repeated the details of the target, and I kept listening to it while looking at the girl.
The girl had a huge smile plastered on her face as she seed to be surrounded by her group of friends. Her ginger coloured hair was what made her stand out from her group of friends. Her hair was tied up in a bun, so I assud that it was her preferred hairstyle as her blue eyes suddenly t mine from a distance and she caught glancing at her.
The expression on her face didn't change at all. Actually, she didn't react at all except her eyes, which seed to be looking at with a weird vibe in them. I quickly looked away from her and replied to Lilith's question, "No…"
"You reacted like you know her?" Lilith asked with clear confusion, as she didn't know about the girl who kissed even though she was aware of the event. Letting out a deep breath, I said, "She is the girl!"
"What?" Lilith asked, as I replied instantly, "The one who kissed suddenly. It's the crazy ginger head."
After what she did, I nad her crazy ginger head because I was obviously not aware of her na being Shiraishi Suzuha. With a hint of excitent in her voice, Lilith asked, "Hoo… the target made contact first this ti?"
"How interesting." She chuckled to herself, as she was correct. It was the first ti the target approached first and not only did she approach , she did the unthinkable. This girl is sure going to be troubleso.
Even though what Lilith said was weird as it felt like there was more to it than she was telling, I asked, "What do you an?"
"Nothing… but since you already had such an interaction with her, I hope you won't have problems dealing with her." She said, brushing off my question, as I said, "Just because she kissed doesn't an this is going to be easy for !"
"But you won't have to go through the whole deal of approaching her and all." She said which was indeed true, so I agreed to it and nodded my head, "True."
So my fourth target is none other than the crazy ginger head whose na was Shiraishi Suzuha. I would've to gather intel on her and I felt stupid for not understanding such an obvious hint that she was a target from the mont she kissed .
