Chapter 1295: Chapter 1295: Change of Identity
Under the guidance of the Guide Battleship, Lan Xuanyu was surprised to find that their Thirty-Three Skywing Battleship was not directed back to the Dragon Three Battleship but instead went straight to the mothership of the Seventh Fleet.
The massive mothership opened its lower belly, allowing the Thirty-Three Skywing Battleship to slowly enter. Under the traction of the Guide Battleship, it moved into the parking area for warships and gradually ca to a stop.
Yan Xinghe was actually on the mothership as well; Xuanyu saw him the mont he stepped off the battleship.
“Why are you on the mothership as well? What’s going on? Don’t we need to go back to Dragon Three?” Xuanyu curiously asked Yan Xinghe.
Yan Xinghe said, “Let your brothers go rest first. You co with in the car.” As he spoke, he pulled Lan Xuanyu into his own car. The others were naturally guided by corresponding personnel.
The car door closed, sealing off everything outside.
“You won’t be able to serve under in the future. It can’t be helped, this is the higher-ups’ decision. The level of secrecy surrounding you now is too high, the fewer people know, the better. Although you’re still holding the title of Deputy Commander of the Dragon Three Battleship, from now on, you only need to report to the Commander alone. All information and ssages about you have already begun being completely sealed off. I will be your contact, and the Commander will be the one you report to.”
Lan Xuanyu couldn’t help but have a bittersweet feeling and said, “Now, more and more, I get the feeling of being a spy!”
Yan Xinghe replied seriously, “It’s for your safety as well. We can’t be sure where spies from the Dragon Horse Star System might be. Even though you are a famous cross-dresser on Sky Dragon Planet, your appearance is too distinctive, and it’s hard to guarantee you won’t be recognized. Also, within our Seventh Fleet, unless your safety is threatened, you must absolutely not take action to avoid exposure. That goes not just for you, Bai Xiuxiu’s secrecy level is the sa as yours. After you return, you should explain this to her.”
“Understood,” Lan Xuanyu earnestly promised.
Yan Xinghe asked, “Are you going to take the entire crew of your Thirty-Three Skywing with you on the covert mission again?”
Lan Xuanyu nodded and said, “Yes, as my status within the Dragon Clan is elevated, I now have much more authority than before, which allows to do more. Therefore, I also need so reliable people to assist in accomplishing tasks in the shadows.”
Yan Xinghe hesitated for a mont before saying, “Is there a possibility to bring more people with you?”
Lan Xuanyu was puzzled, “What do you an?”
Yan Xinghe looked at him deeply and said, “General Bai Ling will probably discuss this with you later. I’m giving you a heads-up. You should understand the importance of everything you’re doing now. It’s not that the federation doesn’t trust you, but there isn’t a unanimous voice within the federation. Soone has proposed to supervise you. So…”
Lan Xuanyu imdiately understood, but he wasn’t angry because of it, as from a common-sense point of view, this was quite normal. Lack of oversight can lead to problems.
“Is it mandatory?” Lan Xuanyu asked Yan Xinghe.
Yan Xinghe nodded and said, “Sort of. To look at it positively, having such personnel around is beneficial for the accumulation of your future contributions. They can testify to your achievents. The downside is also clear; I estimate it will hinder you to so extent. You need to be cautious about this.”
Nobody else would speak to Lan Xuanyu with such openness, but Yan Xinghe was different. Given his relationship with Shrek Academy, he would offer such a private reminder to Lan Xuanyu.
After exchanging a glance with Yan Xinghe, Lan Xuanyu said, “Since it’s mandatory, I can’t disagree. However, it can’t be them; it can only be one person. At most, only one person can accompany , and they must comply with my orders and command. Otherwise, if he interferes with my operation, I am authorized to enforce military law on him.”
Yan Xinghe slightly furrowed his brows, “That’s probably difficult. You better talk directly to the Commander about it. In the military, only the Commander has the authority to decide on so matters.”
“Alright,” Lan Xuanyu calmly agreed.
Yan Xinghe gave Lan Xuanyu a deep look, his esteem for him rising yet again. He had thought that Lan Xuanyu, who was now put under supervision, would lose his temper. After all, he had made monuntal contributions to the federation, tangible and significant achievents. Whether it was the Dragon Source Crystal incident or the valuable intelligence gathered during this infiltration, it was always the case. Having an additional person accompany him ant a higher risk of exposure, not to ntion the possible constraints on his actions.
However, the federation was riddled with complex interests, and many decisions were not his to make. Since the federation’s decision had been made, it must be the result of compromises on multiple fronts. It was now up to Lan Xuanyu to respond.
The orbit car delivered them directly to the Seventh Fleet Headquarters, which was also the command base of the mothership.
Exiting the car, Yan Xinghe led the way with Lan Xuanyu following behind as they entered the headquarters.
The command center seed deserted; Lan Xuanyu did not see a single soul. It was only when he reached the commander’s office inside that he finally t with General Bai Ling.
“Commander!” Lan Xuanyu snapped to attention and saluted.
General Bai Ling smiled faintly and said, “It’s good to have you back, take a seat.”
Looking at Lan Xuanyu, in his crisp military uniform, handso and with a restrained temperant, General Bai Ling couldn’t help but nod inwardly. Truly worthy of being top talent nurtured by Shrek Academy! In terms of both appearance and ability, at his age, there was likely no one better.
Lan Xuanyu and Yan Xinghe both took seats opposite to General Bai Ling.
General Bai Ling smiled and said, “Since it’s just us, I’ll get straight to the point. First of all, on behalf of the federation, I want to express sincere gratitude and deep respect for your contributions. Every bit of effort you’ve contributed to the federation will be recorded in the book of rits.”
“Thank you for the federation’s acknowledgnt,” Lan Xuanyu said with a calm expression.
Just verbal praise, nothing substantial?
As expected, General Bai Ling continued, “The federation has already contacted the Tang Sect and will provide sufficient God Rank tals for the Tang Sect to specially forge God Rank chas for you and your companions. Thirty-three sets in total.”
At those words, Lan Xuanyu’s eyes instantly lit up. God Rank tal? Its value couldn’t be asured by price, for it was simply too rare. In the entire federation, there were only a handful of God Forging blacksmiths.
What can be made with God Rank tal? Any Battle Armor above Four-Word Battle Armor is made from God Rank tal. With Lan Xuanyu’s current forging level, he couldn’t even work on God Rank tal.
If it was to be used for making Battle Armor, his requirents would definitely be higher, requiring fusion and forging grade of God Rank tal, multiple tals combined together, to complete the God Forging process.
The God Rank tal ntioned by the federation should be relatively common God Rank tal, that is, the kind subjected to an elental calamity, and certainly a single elent. Even so, that was still God Rank tal!
The so-called God Rank chas were not all made from God Rank tal. As long as a part of the core material is made of God Rank tal, possessing power far beyond that of black-grade chas, it could be called a God Rank cha. And a God Rank cha entirely forged from God Rank tal would be extrely precious. Its value, imasurable.
The federation was being so generous, producing the God Rank tal needed for thirty-three sets of chas at once—this was an astronomical number!
Seeing the glint in Lan Xuanyu’s eyes, General Bai Ling smiled and said, “One reason is the exceptional rits you have accumulated, which are more than sufficient. Another is to further enhance your strength to ensure your safety. Of course, there are conditions attached.”
“What conditions?” Lan Xuanyu asked, curious.
General Bai Ling stared at him deeply, saying, “The condition is, if you leave the military system in the future, then the cha must be returned to the military. Of course, the Tang Sect has the right to reprocess the cha back into tal to ensure their technology does not leak.”
