Return to the Beginning [Special pt5]

When Harry arrived at the living room, he froze upon seeing two familiar elderly figures.

Unlike the tiline he ca from, where they had been young, in this reality the Flal couple appeared so aged that their bones seed visible beneath their wrinkled, ti-worn skin.

However, this did not stop Harry from gazing at them, overwheld by a nostalgia filled with mories. He then turned to Sirius, seeking so sort of explanation.

"It seems my ddling godfather has done sothing with my letters," Harry said with a smile.

"Haha, of course. I'll leave you to talk," Sirius replied, quickly exiting the room with a grin that betrayed how he had perfectly planned and executed the prank, judging by Harry's stunned expression.

Harry turned toward the Flal couple.

"Even though it seems you already know us, we'll introduce ourselves properly," Nicolas announced with a serene smile, his wife standing beside him.

"We are Nicolas and Perenelle Flal. It's a pleasure to et you, Harry," Nicolas added, while Perenelle greeted him gracefully, her smile spreading calm and solemnity.

"Well, nice to et you. I'm Harry Potter," Harry replied, greeting them in the polite way his grandparents had taught him long ago.

Upon receiving the greeting, Perenelle's eyes lit up with a glow full of intense emotion.

"It seems we have much to talk about," Perenelle said.

....

"So, you don't know how you got here. It's as if you traveled back in ti with your own body, but things have changed," Nicolas comnted as he pondered the multiverse theories he had read about before arriving.

"It's truly strange," he added, since even for soone of his long existence, it was the first ti he had heard of such a thing.

"I would have loved to et your siblings and the ones who would have been our grandchildren," Perenelle reflected with a subtle lancholy.

"Well, it seems that living so long might have been for an even greater purpose: helping you reunite with your true grandparents," Nicolas said with a slight smile.

"Don't worry, Harry. I'll help you build that machine you spoke of; you'll need the help of a great alchemist," he added quickly, smiling with confidence.

"What will you do in the anti?" Perenelle inquired, knowing that a machine of such magnitude could take years to complete.

"Although I would prefer to avoid going back to school, it might be necessary to ensure that the students there don't end up eting a fatal end," Harry responded with a forced smile.

"Are you sure? Shouldn't it be dangerous?" Perenelle asked, frowning, wishing to stop him from leaving, even though she only vaguely understood what could happen. Still, they had no right to hold him back.

"Don't worry. Unlike Stephen, who prefers to be just an observer, I go straight to the point," Harry affird, flashing a confident " and slightly arrogant " smile.

Afterward, the Flal couple and Harry talked about various topics: anecdotes, curiosities, and the technology developed in Harry's tiline.

He shared everything he knew about the MagicTech machinery " knowledge Stephen had forced him to learn (though fortunately, he had managed to escape once Tony showed up).

With so much information, Nicolas looked like a child in a candy store, marveling as he studied special runes from various cultures, including those inspired by Asgardian lore.

....

"Are you sure you'll be alright?" Perenelle asked as she saw Harry getting ready to head to King's Cross and take the train to Hogwarts.

The Flal couple had purchased a house next to Sirius's so they could stay close to Harry and study the enigmatic multiversal travel machine.

Moreover, they had grown fond of him quickly; they finally understood why Harry's grandparents in his original tiline had adopted him without hesitation.

"I'll be fine. Even if I might not be able to defeat Dumbledore, Professor Flitwick... or Snape, I trust I can handle the other professors without trouble. Besides, I have the elent of surprise on my side, with magic they don't know about," Harry said calmly, offering a slight smile.

"Sigh. I wish you weren't leaving, and that your silly godfather hadn't convinced you so easily," Perenelle replied quickly, slightly annoyed, glancing at Sirius, who stood behind Harry, waiting to take him.

"Don't worry, Mrs. Perenelle; Harry is Jas's son. His father was the embodint of soone who always got into trouble and always got away unhard " well, with a little help from , of course," Sirius said with a subtly arrogant smile.

Harry lied, claiming he could see the future " a trick similar to one Stephen had used in his youth.

He told them what he might encounter during his first year at Hogwarts, and upon hearing his plan, Sirius encouraged him with pride.

"You also need to grow up and treat Harry as your godson, not just as your best friend," Perenelle reprimanded, reigniting a typical discussion between her and Sirius about raising the boy.

Fortunately, Harry had been properly raised by his grandparents; otherwise, he surely would have been corrupted under Sirius's tutelage.

"Alright, Mrs. Perenelle. I'll be ready. I already have everything prepared, just in case," Harry assured her quickly.

"Could you call grandma, Harry? Even if I'll never replace your real grandmother, it would make very happy," Perenelle asked tenderly.

"... Thank you, grandma," Harry replied, a little flustered, blushing slightly.

"Alright, Sirius, let's go," he said quickly.

"Goodbye! I'll see you during the holidays," Harry added to the Flal couple.

.....

At platform 9¾, while saying goodbye to Sirius, the latter comnted:

"You know, Harry: if the plan doesn't work, just throw spells at that idiot until he's unrecognizable.

And don't worry " even if Dumbledore doesn't inspire full trust, I doubt he'll allow a student to be seriously hurt while the appointed inspector is watching the situation."

"I know. Don't worry. And rember to keep up with your treatnts," Harry said, smiling as he bid farewell to Sirius.

"I promise nothing," Sirius quickly replied, sporting a proud grin.

.....

As Harry walked through the train carriages, he watched the students running around with a lancholy sense of nostalgia. Many of the faces were familiar, though they now looked smaller and more childish. Among the crowd, Harry spotted a red-haired boy wandering around distractedly, searching for a place to sit.

"Hey, Ron!" Harry called out, surprising his friend from behind.

"H–Hi?" Ron stamred, stunned by Harry's friendly greeting. The last ti they had t, Ron had discovered that the "rat" he had grown up with was, to his shock, actually an old man in disguise.

"Sorry about last ti. I guess finding out you used to bathe and sleep with an old man must've been quite the shock," Harry teased with a mischievous grin.

"Hey!" Ron growled, rushing to cover Harry's mouth in a panic, afraid soone might hear. "You promised you wouldn't tell anyone!"

"Haha, right, I forgot. But I'm sure your brothers won't miss the chance to spread such a juicy story," Harry said, steering Ron toward one of the compartnts.

Their exchange flowed so naturally that Ron didn't even notice when Harry's tone softened into a more comforting one. As they chatted, the trolley witch passed by; Harry bought one of each item, and between bites, their conversation grew into the beginning of a surprisingly sincere new friendship.

Suddenly, a blond boy, followed by two bumbling lackeys, interrupted:

"Hey, I'm looking for""

But before he could finish his sentence, a gust of wind sent him and his companions flying to the back of the train, followed by a loud crash and shouts of astonishnt.

"What the heck was that?" Ron asked, his eyes wide open, amazed by what seed like a ruthless attack from Harry.

"A Death Eater's son. A loyal servant of, you know, that arrogant daddy's boy who thinks he's superior because of his 'pseudo-pure' blood," Harry said calmly, as if the blast hadn't co from him. "Ignore him. Giving him attention will only make that brat feel entitled to bother us."

"Alright, but you've got to teach that spell, it was aweso! I haven't learned any yet, although my brothers taught how to turn animals into bursts of color," Ron said eagerly, genuinely interested.

"Sure, it's a simple spell anyway," Harry assured him with a satisfied smile.

At that mont, the door slamd open, interrupting their conversation.

"Excuse , have you seen a frog? It belongs to a boy nad Neville," Hermione announced, casting a quick glance at Harry before her eyes locked onto his iconic scar.

"Boiled snails, you're Harry Potter!" Hermione exclaid, marveling at him. "I've read every book you're ntioned in, from A History of Magic in Recent Years to Heroes of the Magical World. Though I still find it hard to believe a baby could defeat a Dark Lord... Well, actually, I don't really know if it's possible"after all, the magical world is strange and peculiar."

As Hermione spewed out facts and theories non-stop, leaving Ron completely bewildered, Harry smiled serenely, fondly rembering the first ti he t her.

"You're right," Harry said in a calm voice. "My mother sacrificed herself to kill Voldemort by casting a protection spell on , and when his killing curse hit , it rebounded onto him."

Silence fell over the group for a mont, until Hermione, slightly embarrassed, apologized:

"I'm sorry. I tend to talk too much and sotis I say things without thinking."

"It's alright. She's the hero, not ," Harry said gently. "And about Neville's frog"just tell him that in its own way, it will always co back to him."

"Alright... th-thank you," Hermione stamred as she stood up to leave.

"Wait," Harry called out suddenly.

"Yes?" she asked, visibly confused.

"You didn't tell your na. eting soone who loves studying so much and is also so pretty would truly be a pleasure," Harry said quickly with a nearly charming smile, making Hermione blush.

"Hermione. Hermione Jean Granger," she replied before rushing away like a storm.

anwhile, Ron muttered:

"She talks a lot and is kind of rude, don't you think?"

"No, she's exactly my type," Harry said with total confidence, leaving Ron frozen for a few seconds, distracted from his chocolate.

"Hey, that was mine!" Ron complained quickly.

"I know," Harry replied, taking a playful bite out of the chocolate Ron hadn't even finished unwrapping.

......

Hours later, when the train arrived and twilight descended upon the carriage, a giant began calling for the first-years. Heart racing, Harry hurried over, watching Hagrid with growing interest. This ti, Hagrid hadn't been the one to introduce him to the magical world, so no deep connection existed between them yet.

Taking advantage of the walk to the castle, Harry struck up a conversation with the giant, which pleasantly surprised Hagrid and filled him with joy. It was said that Hagrid, who was responsible for welcoming new students, had recently learned that Sirius had been freed and declared innocent"a piece of news that brought him both happiness and a pang of sadness for not having t Harry earlier.

After a long conversation"and even an invitation to lunch at his hut"everyone disembarked at the castle. Professor McGonagall led them imdiately to the Great Hall. Young Malfoy didn't even dare speak a word to Harry; whenever he t Harry's icy, disdainful gaze, he felt as if he were re trash.

Finally, everyone gathered before the professors. The small stool, with the Sorting Hat perched atop it, began its traditional opening song, and Dumbledore stood to speak. Yet Harry didn't take his eyes off Snape, internally weighing how to deal with him. If it had been the sa old Snape, Harry would have simply avoided him"but now, sothing about him had changed, stirring in Harry the courage to confront him.

It was then that, locking eyes with Snape, Harry suddenly flashed a smile full of sches.

"Since Stephen and Wanda aren't here, maybe I should follow their example," Harry murmured with a grin full of mischief.
