Chapter 706: Chapter 661: Dragon Ancient Ruins

“Lady Lilabet, what do you an by that?” Jenny frowned slightly upon hearing her words.

“Don’t you trust him? Then let’s make a verbal wager. I wager that Ivan Marichardon will not succeed in condensing the throne.”

The Dark Night Mother Goddess replied with a playful smile.

“Such a serious matter is no joke and shouldn’t be taken lightly.”

“Or are you not as confident as you claim?”

“I am.”

“Then—”

“No wager.”

Faced with Jenny’s seriousness and stubbornness, the Dark Night Mother Goddess chuckled in exasperation. She opened her mouth but, in the end, refrained from saying anything harsh.

If the Sea Mother were here, she would surely have mocked soone rcilessly for once again losing face.

In fact, Jenny had once heard Ivan say this: every word and deed of a mighty being carried imnse weight.

Upon thinking it over, the Dark Night Mother Goddess was not only a powerful entity but also the head of the Geocentric Lineage. Of course, she wouldn’t want to make such a wager, lest it create unnecessary hurdles for Sorcerer Ivan’s advancent.

The Dark Night Mother Goddess was unaware of Jenny’s thoughts; if she knew, she would probably feel even more frustrated. How could she, of all people, resort to petty tricks behind the scenes?

“Lady Lilabet, Sorcerer Ivan is a man of great fortune, great resolve, and great perseverance. He is also in harmony with the will of the heavens and the timing of fate. He will undoubtedly condense the throne in a single stroke and beco the first True King Wizard in history.”

Seeing the atmosphere beco a bit tense, Jenny emphasized solemnly, as though stating an undeniable fact.

“Is this sothing that sorcerer told you to reassure you?” the Dark Night Mother Goddess couldn’t help but ask.

“Lady Lilabet, this is what I believe in my heart,” Jenny reiterated firmly.

“I can’t be bothered to argue with you. Let’s wait and see.”

The Dark Night Mother Goddess admitted there was a grain of truth in what Jenny said, yet it bore no direct connection to condensing the throne. Knowing Jenny’s temperant, continuing the argunt might genuinely rile her up, and the Mother Goddess had no intention of quarreling further. She opted to let the matter drop.

“How about this—we shift the focus to you. Surely you won’t refuse now?” The Dark Night Mother Goddess glanced toward the direction of the Dragon Ancient Ruins.

“Alright.” Jenny caught on imdiately, and after pondering for a few seconds, she nodded lightly.

Seeing this, the Dark Night Mother Goddess’s face lit up with a gentle smile.

Explorers ca from far and wide to this place, primarily seeking the treasures hidden within the Dragon Ancient Ruins. Naturally, Jenny harbored similar intentions.

The Dragon Ancient Ruins had their own set of rules.

For all native creatures of Danaila, regardless of strength or social standing, they were allowed three chances to enter the Dragon Ancient Ruins. Each visit could last no more than one month, and there had to be a fifty-year interval between any two entries.

It was said that each entry would take one to a random location within the ruins, determined entirely by individual skill and luck. Countless people had pursued the treasures for centuries and returned empty-handed, making up the majority.

Nurous lives had also been lost within the ruins.

Whether Jenny would obtain anything of value during this trip was wholly uncertain.

The Dark Night Mother Goddess, seizing upon this uncertainty, proposed a wager: the stakes were bound to an Original Force Treasure. If Jenny managed to retrieve even an elentary-level item, she would win the wager.

“This isn’t fair. From what I’ve heard, many Void King Wizards have explored the place, and not every trip yields results. The best find so far was rely a Half-Force Treasure.”

Jenny wasn’t foolish. The mont she heard the Dark Night Mother Goddess’s terms, she imdiately declined.

“Ha, you underestimate both yourself and the Geocentric Lineage. With our special status in Danaila, why would those other wizards compare to us?”

The Dark Night Mother Goddess retorted pointedly.

“Are you serious?”

“When this god says one, it ans one. There’s no deception. What’s wrong—don’t you believe ?”

“Of course I believe you. Then the terms of the wager?”

Seeing the Dark Night Mother Goddess speak with such conviction, Jenny harbored no doubts. Based on her understanding of Lilabet, the goddess disdained resorting to deceit in matters like this.

“If I win, you’ll follow back underground and obediently abide by my arrangents until the day you successfully condense the throne. If you win, I’ll agree to help that sorcerer with one thing—whatever he chooses, even offering an apology for the last incident, without any hesitation.”

The Dark Night Mother Goddess’s voice was calm but carried an astonishing weight.

Fundantally, it seed that whether the wager was won or lost, the outco would ultimately benefit Jenny herself, leaving her staring blankly at the goddess, montarily at a loss for words.

Most importantly, this wager wouldn’t adversely affect Sorcerer Ivan.

“Lady Lilabet, I think this is too unfair to you—”

“Enough chatter. I don’t need you to teach how to act. Just give your answer—do you agree or not? If you still refuse, consider not showing up today, and don’t show up in front of again in the future.”

“I—I agree.”

Jenny wasn’t sure whether there was so hidden agenda behind this wager. However, with things having reached this point, refusing would seem ungrateful.

“Deal.”

The Dark Night Mother Goddess smiled as her fair hand swept through the air, summoning a radiant yellow light from the earth. It carried the two of them to the vicinity of the Dragon Ancient Ruins.

The ability to traverse hundreds of miles in an instant was truly awe-inspiring.

Jenny, however, had no ti to marvel at this feat. The portal to the Dragon Ancient Ruins was right before her, ford by two ancient, weathered pillars bathed in the passage of ti. The bases of the columns stood firmly anchored to the ground, while their tops seed to stretch endlessly upward, as though reaching for the boundless heavens.
