Chapter 575: Chapter 573: Sudden Departure
“How long have you all hidden yourselves? What good deeds have been done in that ti?”
“Practicing a Secret Technique.”
“Secret Technique?”
“Sanctify All Beings.”
Not long after Locke had left, Tanaya ca knocking. She cast a slightly surprised glance at the imposing Jenny, and inquired bluntly.
The book “Nether Soul Mirror” was a gift from Tanaya, and Ivan did not conceal anything, simply explaining the matter of the Secret Technique.
“As a sorcerer, you’re becoming more and more promising,” said Tanaya with a sour tone. Once upon a ti, she too was a sorcerer who soared through the ocean of knowledge, committed to pursuing the truth for her entire life. Alas, everything had changed.
“That’s right. If you fail in your advancent to Knight King, I have a place reserved for you here; I will permit you to follow around,” Ivan said.
“What are you talking about? Don’t think you can talk nonsense just because you’re an Arcane Wizard.” Upon hearing this, Tanaya ‘erupted into a furious rage.’ “However, what you said is correct, I ca today to tell you that I am going to advance to Knight King.”
“Where?”
“I want to go back to the Fitzgerald family’s manor, you don’t need to escort ; Hotter and Grace will take back to Truth City.”
Tanaya was clearly here to say goodbye; the sorcerer princess was finally about to take that critical step she had been waiting for far too long.
Given her physical condition, no one knew what might happen during the advancent process.
She might successfully beco the Knight King, or she could perish in the attempt.
Those were the two most likely outcos that Ivan could think of.
“Tanaya, I believe the Light of Life will blossom fully for you.”
“I’ll take your propitious words.”
“Before parting, shall we have a hug?”
“Don’t get handsy, all right?”
Although the two were betrothed by King of the Long Sky, Ivan, who fulfilled the role of the ‘dupe,’ never used his power to coerce Tanaya, keeping their relationship in na only.
After a simple, unadorned hug, Tanaya set out on her determined heart’s journey towards becoming the Knight King.
Ivan watched her retreating figure disappear into the distance.
When Ivan turned back around, he noticed the sowhat disheartened Locke.
“Who did you fail to summon?”
“The Silkworm Queen. Clearly, it shares the sa space affinity as I, but the ritual just wouldn’t succeed.”
“Is your space proficiency that high?”
“I rely more on instinct.”
“Forget about the Silkworm Queen for now. Start with a few slightly more intelligent Spiritual Bodies to practice on. Rember to find ways to strengthen your connection with them. Use the ditation thod if you must, or a curse; in any case, think more and co up with solutions.”
Locke’s attempt had failed, which did not surprise Ivan.
Sanctify All Beings was an exceedingly complex Secret Technique. If Locke couldn’t even grasp the technique properly, how could he possibly bring the Silkworm Queen – a being beyond his capabilities – under his command?
“Boss, why not let see how you recruit people?” After listening, Locke nodded helplessly, ready to go coax Martin, but then, struck by an idea, he proposed.
“Fine, I’ll let you witness it so you don’t think I’m tricking you,” Ivan consented readily, for a Secret Technique successfully cultivated is ant to be used.
“How could I? I’ll go call them for you. Who should I look for?” Locke said with a sheepish smile.
“Summon the swamp ant, the fla scorpion, and the Silkworm Queen,” Ivan instructed.
“Boss, about the Silkworm Queen—”
“You’ll be dealing with Spiritual Bodies more in the future, no need to always make the Silkworm Queen follow you. Stop the chatter, just go, and be quick!”
Ivan wasn’t preventing Locke from acting alongside the Silkworm Queen; it’s simply that the Silkworm Queen had been with him since long ago, and it would be less of a delay to form a contract with it directly than with Locke.
Before long, the swamp ant, the fla scorpion, and the Silkworm Queen arrived at the laboratory.
Seeing Sorcerer Ivan summon them with such solemnity, the swamp ants and the three Insect Gods couldn’t help but show a serious deanor, thinking there might be so important task they were about to be entrusted with.
“Don’t overthink, the boss just wants to give you a stroke of good fortune.” Locke hurriedly said.
“Locke, you said that before, and nothing happened.” The Silkworm Queen murmured.
“Uh— I just didn’t practice enough, the boss will definitely be different.” Locke’s face stiffened, that damn Silkworm Queen, to actually embarrass him in public like this.
“Although Locke is a bit exaggerated, it is generally the case. There is such an opportunity—”
Sorcerer Ivan did not go into the specifics of the Secret Technique but simply stated its effects and the benefits that it could bring to them.
That is, swamp ants and the like had followed him for quite a long ti and had established many rits for him, otherwise, they would not have received such treatnt, after all, the ti of an Arcane Wizard is quite precious.
“There is such a great opportunity?”
After listening to Sorcerer Ivan, the swamp ants’ eyes lit up, they were distressed by the stagnation in their advancent to lord level.
You see, the Insect Race is born with an inferior nature, one might say their lives are as cheap as paper. The probability of an individual successfully ascending to lord level is far lower than other races; even if a group transformation succeeds, the beings that eventually erge may not necessarily be themselves.
For an individual of the Insect Race like itself, which had developed spiritual intelligence and discernnt early on, such an outco would be a disaster.
Having the chance to ride on Sorcerer Ivan’s coattails and win easily, how could the swamp ants not be happy?
“In order for you to gain the benefit, I, the sorcerer, must ascend to Level 5 Void King. This will greatly increase your potential to ascend to lord level,” Ivan reminded.
“That’s already stronger than if we randomly attempt to transform ourselves to lord level.” The swamp ants had been following him for so long, how could they not know about his cultivation speed?
A Level 5 Void King Wizard, for Sorcerer Ivan, was just a matter of ti.
The swamp ants had firm faith in this.
“Mhm, I also agree.”
The Silkworm Queen nodded vigorously, as a Level 3 peak creature, it never held much hope for ascending to lord level, but now with this opportunity, it was like an unexpected joy.
The fla scorpion had no real opinion of its own, seeing that the other two agreed, of course it would not express a different view.
“Since everyone agrees, then accept this gift from , the sorcerer.”
“Thank you for your generous gift, Your Excellency.”
The swamp ants and the Silkworm Queen exchanged glances and quickly prostrated themselves on the ground, with the fla scorpion following closely behind.
The next second, three dark red tentacles composed of energy erged from under Ivan’s feet, stretching out like shadows, and in a blink of an eye, they wrapped around the three bugs.
Layer after layer.
Soon, the swamp ants and the other two were engulfed in them.
When Ivan retracted the energy tentacles, there remained three objects wrapped like eggshells.
“Boss, is it done?”
“It’s done. I already have a contract with them, and the ‘Black Scythe Heart’ insect Breathing thod they practice is also taught by . I know them inside out, so establishing another contract with them couldn’t be simpler.”
Watching his boss handle it so effortlessly, Locke knew all he could do was admire.
He also knew he wasn’t smart enough, he had limited energy, and perhaps he should focus on the Spiritual Body instead of being indecisive. As for the rest, it should be handled personally by the boss, which is the most ideal way.
“Boss, I understand what you an, I definitely won’t aim too high from now on.”
“The Spiritual Body is not a simple matter, that special plane is not simple either. When you ascend to lord level and have the qualifications to be a player, I’ll definitely need to bask in your light.”
“I have to ascend to lord level quickly then, haha.”
Locke thought these were just comforting words, but actually, Ivan really thought so.
In his view, that plane related to the eroding of Spiritual Bodies was as special as the sun and the moon, not confined to a single plane but spanning across countless ones and even broadly affecting every single plane, and also perating each plane.
If his analysis was correct, then Locke has a bright future, potentially surpassing Jenny, and even himself not being out of question.
“Boss, the Supre Red has his Crimson Legion, should we not have an impressive title?”
“It’s too early.”
The swamp ants and others wouldn’t wake up so quickly, Locke left first, he was going to try and rope in Martin Kaspa, vowing to bring him into his camp as his first underling.
