Chapter 541: Chapter 539: Mystic Black Chains
In the midst of his raging fury, He Bo had to admit that he had indeed underestimated the human sorcerer opposite him, especially the sorcerer’s speed and the ingenuity and strangeness of his thods.
After calming down slightly, he had a strategy in mind.
“Wandering, unbound winds, please heed the command of this lord and co to lend your strength!”
The next second, he began chanting in the ancient language of elents, and for a mont, it seed as if all the wind particles of the Storm Sea had been summoned, bringing with them a heaven-toppling force.
As a natural-born Elental Lord, he had his uniqueness, and no one could match them in commanding elents.
The Storm Sea was even more so the Elental Lord’s ho field, no wonder he could amass such a trendous force in such a short ti.
...
“Thinking of using a ho field advantage to suppress with sheer force?”
The surrounding winds, thunderclouds, and lightning were all in disarray; Ivan could clearly see that the opponent, unable to gain an advantage through techniques, was thinking of clashing head-on.
Although the approach was rough, it was indeed a good thod.
He hadn’t advanced in arcane for long; when it ca to foundations, he truly could not compare with the centuries of accumulation his opponent had.
“I need to pull out sothing fierce.”
Ivan reached out casually and now held a shiny, black chain in his hand. The chain looked similar to the Whale Binding Chain but lacked the past’s wild vigor written on it.

In the last month or so, he had spent most of his ti and energy on the chain.
This chain was created by combining the original Whale Binding Chain, the materials from the half-ruined Mystical Black Long-handled Scythe, the legacy black whiskers of the Black Scythe Lord, and the lting furnace of the Peak of Truth.
After the chain was successfully forged, it gained a mystic black pointed head, its overall toughness increased, and it also contained the toxic power of the Black Scythe Lord.
He renad it the ‘Mystic Black Chains’ in mory of the Mystical Black Long-handled Scythe gifted by the Black Scythe Lord.
The Mystic Black Chains could be used in conjunction with the Domain Magic of the Nine Python Fire Whisker Spear, as well as the innate soul technique Star Soul Hand. Once forged, it beca the most handy magic artifact in his possession.
“Roar!”
Once again, he used the Domain Magic of the Nine Python Fire Whisker Spear.
Nine scaleless, monstrous pythons erged, roaring towards the cloud where Elental Lord He Bo was, with a fierce, fiery montum.
“Haha, perfect timing!”
He Bo had been prepared for this; he raised his hands and three giant whirlwind storms appeared in front of him, resembling the nearby stormy channels and pillars crossing the sky.
Within and without these pillars pervaded an extrely terrifying force of twisting and tearing, sealing off all the space in that area.
This disaster-like terrifying power surged towards the scaleless monstrous pythons.
Before the great pillars, the long-bodied scaleless pythons seed like re mud eels, utterly insignificant.
“Boom, boom, boom.”
The wind and fire were fierce, the sky trembled.
The unleashed power threw everything into chaos, and the sound drowned out all else.
With such a disparity in size, Elental Lord He Bo thought that his own strike would surely be superior.
“How is this possible?”
Before He Bo could rejoice for long, a red hue unexpectedly erged from amidst the chaotic storm, rapidly expanding. A dark red fire python burst forth, heading straight for him.
Of the nine fire pythons, he had destroyed eight, leaving one that slipped through.
“I refuse to believe your flas are invincible!”
He Bo hastily manipulated the still potent storm to continue crushing the fire python, but to his astonishnt, the storm’s power rapidly lted away as it neared the python.
Still not giving up, he hastily summoned another pillar of storm in an attempt to block the fire python’s approach.
“Clang, clang.”
Wind clashed with fire once more.
This fire python was even more terrifying than before, as if imbued with a power of devouring, making the storm’s force hardly effective. By the ti He Bo realized his tactics were failing, he heard a few sounds of chains clashing and caught a glimpse of a tendril radiating a strange red glow.
Soon, the chaos in that area had cald down.
The fire was extinguished.
The wind had subsided.
The clouds and thunder dissipated into nothingness.
Only a chain remained floating in the sky, one end binding an elental lord who looked quite bedraggled. The other end was held in the hand of a human sorcerer, who wore a light and breezy smile on his face.
“You’ve played a trick again,” the elental lord He Bo bellowed, his voice betraying a significant lack of confidence.
“How about another round?” Ivan didn’t argue with him but casually made a suggestion.
“As if I’m afraid. Don’t think that just because you’ve bound , you can kill ; your lordship isn’t so easily taken down,” He Bo retorted unwillingly.
His words were true; the strengths of an elental lord were not limited to commanding the elents but also included traits like long life and being hard to kill.
It’s just that their brains don’t always work well, often acting impulsively and doing strange things. The one before him seed to be an outstanding representative of that kind.
Ivan was ready to try and see if he could oblige.
“Wait, Sorcerer Marichadon, great human scholar, we admit defeat. Everything is up for negotiation.”
At this mont, another elental lord rushed forward. He had actually been watching the battle for a while and, seeing He Bo thoroughly defeated and still so reckless, felt compelled to intervene.
If the two continued fighting, this sorcerer was probably going to deliver a death blow.
“Bayloren, how can you just admit defeat like that?”
“Shut your mouth. Lord Marichadon has already shown restraint, and you’re still not satisfied? Do you really want him to beat you to a pulp before you give up?”
Bayloren’s scolding left He Bo with no retort, after all, he had indeed lost.
He Bo closed his eyes, saying no more.
“Sorcerer Marichadon, do you see room for negotiation?” Bayloren asked Ivan.
“How would you like to negotiate?” Ivan didn’t refuse.
If He Bo were rely a wild elental lord, he would have killed him however he wanted, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
The world had given rise to many elental lords, most of whom had joined an organization called the ‘Elental Watch Alliance’. The alliance mbers appeared lax in their everyday interactions, but once one of them was killed, it was like poking a hornet’s nest, causing endless troubles.
The Elental Watch Alliance was also an extrely ancient organization, and no one knew how many centuries-old elental lords were inside.
The several lords of Storm City were mbers of the Warden Alliance. Otherwise, with their behavior of blocking roads and demanding tolls, they would have been turned to ash long ago or beco caged exhibits.
Ivan had never delivered a death blow; President Hardy had harbored the sa concerns.
“Everything’s negotiable, all negotiable.”
Hearing his words, Bayloren breathed a sigh of relief.
What followed was a sowhat oddly familiar process: apologies and compensation, a condition being agreed upon, and then the matter was satisfactorily concluded, freeing He Bo from the constraint of the Mystic Black Chains.
“Human sorcerer—Lord Marichadon, do you have any tasks you need to undertake, like killing those who have placed bounties on you?”
Once freed, He Bo asked sowhat awkwardly; he had just promised to do one thing unconditionally for the other party and he didn’t want to drag it out.
“Not for the mont, I’ll let you know when I’ve decided.”
“Then make it quick, I don’t like owing you a favor.”
“Sure thing,” Ivan replied noncommittally, then added, “If you still wish to seek advice from , I’m always welco to it whenever I’m free.”
“He Bo, don’t delay Sorcerer Marichadon’s ti any further.”
Seeing that He Bo was about to say sothing, Bayloren quickly interrupted, as he really didn’t have high hopes for He Bo’s approach.
You can’t even beat him when he’s only just been promoted as a lord; trying to compete after a while would just be asking for trouble. Best not let this guy embarrass himself further.
Before long, the ship Lan Suo once again set sail, navigating out of the tempestuous channel.
