Chapter 470: Chapter 469: Town Recall Scroll
Inside the second floor of the Round Tower.
While the outside world was in an uproar, Ivan’s heart was surprisingly calm, as if the tumult was not his doing.
“You really have a big heart, so many people are calling you arrogant, full of wild ideas, and such, yet you sit here so calmly.” Seeing his nonchalant deanor, the visiting Angus could not help but remark.
“I’ve already put the word out, regretting it now is too late.” Ivan said.
“It’s not that his heart is big, but that he has a well-thought-out plan.” Sakri, who had co with Angus, comnted. He was an Enchantnt Master from the Chanay branch in South Capital.
Previously, they had all arrived here together on the Cloud Shuttle.
...
Hearing the two n’s words, Ivan just smiled and did not reply.
“Ivan, great scholar, you must have guessed the purpose of our visit, give us a chance?” The two n exchanged glances, and finally, Angus spoke.
“Are you sure about this? This task is not only difficult, but also fraught with great danger.”
“Of course, who else but Ivan Marichardon!”
“Any other Level 3 Sorcerer daring to step forward and claim to research the teleportation array, we would scoff at. Only you are different, we are willing to follow you and explore the deeper mysteries of space, to break open this centuries-old cage.”
“Good, I welco both sorcerers to join.”
Seeing their sincere words, Ivan had no reason to turn them away.
As ti flowed like water, several more days passed. The news continued to spread, and opinions were varied. Sorcerers also visited in person from ti to ti, expressing their willingness to obey orders and contribute to researching the teleportation array.
Ivan selectively took so people in, including Master Nelson whom he had previously visited voluntarily.
As for the senior sorcerers, they were currently busy with things obtained from the Star Realm’s gate. Ivan was not in a rush to seek them out, just as the saying goes, “Let the bullet fly for a while.”
However, he was summoned first.
…
Sky Flow Valley, ho to only one nine-story sorcerer tower.
This nine-story sorcerer tower was the most important and prestigious place in Sky Flow Valley, usually only frequented by arcane wizards, who conducted highly advanced and dangerous secret experints inside.
On this day, Ivan was fortunate to be brought inside, taken to a room on the ninth floor.
“Scholar Marichardon, please co in, soone is waiting for you inside.”
“Thank you,” Ivan replied.
He nodded to the leading servant and pushed open the door in front of him, stepping into a room that initially struck him as utterly unremarkable.
As soon as he entered the small room, the door behind him closed automatically.
He could hardly mind these details, as there were people inside the room, precisely four arcane wizards, including Hotter whom he hadn’t seen for a few days—they were all here waiting for him.
“I salute you, President Doradoli.”
“I salute you—”
“Enough, no need for such formalities in front of us, we didn’t bring you here just to hear these things.”
Ivan quickly stepped forward to pay his respects, and after only a few words of greeting, President Doradoli motioned with his hand to stop him.
Since the gate to the Star Realm had been activated, they had already t and were not strangers to each other.
“Ivan, it’s rare for you to be so bold and flamboyant, stirring up Sky Flow Valley to almost boil over, it’s truly impressive,” President Hardy said with a smile.
His words were unclear whether they were praise or criticism, but he seed very happy either way.
“Let guess, you let the information spread wildly, leading to mixed opinions, not to screen for like-minded sorcerers, right? Let tell you, I’m quite interested in your plan, why not—”
The next to speak was Humor Selum from the School of Space, who often alternated with Doradoli in overseeing Sky Flow Valley.
Among the four arcane wizards present, Ivan was least familiar with Wizard Humor. Hearing his joke, Ivan thought more deeply and was weighing how to respond.
“Co on, co on, let’s talk later and get to the main topic.”
Doradoli didn’t want to listen to their chit-chat and interrupted them once again.
Seeing this, the other three had no choice but to comply with the President, knowing that Doradoli was the most anxious person, always obsessing over solving the issue with the teleportation array.
“Tell us, speak your true objective. Don’t say it’s like what’s being proliferated outside, that your plan can solve the teleportation array issue all at once. Given your nature, you wouldn’t be so arrogant.”
“President is insightful; my plan indeed targets only a segnt, not directly solving the teleportation array issue.”
Hearing President Doradoli’s question, Ivan didn’t hide anything. He never harbored such grand ambitions but always aid at solving only so parts of the problem.
Just as many believed, the teleportation array was a millennium project for the School of Space. What could a Level 3 Sorcerer possibly do to resolve it?
He knew he didn’t have the credentials for such an undertaking and obviously wouldn’t delve into a dead end.
“Then what part are you targeting?” Doradoli continued.
“Cough, cough—cough cough cough.” Hotter suddenly started coughing, stopping only after receiving a stern look.
“Wizard Hotter, do you think I would covet soone else’s ideas and plans? You must not know , Doradoli, to think so,” Doradoli said, glaring at him unhappily.
“I’m Humor Selum. I and Doradoli have been guarding Sky Flow Valley for years, precisely because we hope soone will co forward to take on this major task, not to abandon food for fear of choking,” Humor quickly added.
“Of course not, it was just an itch in my throat,” Hotter said with an awkward smile.
He didn’t really suspect anything; he just wanted both to openly express their stance in public, to prevent soone from exploiting Ivan’s research lead, which would be against the original intention of the plan.
“Ivan, continue, we brought you here definitely to offer so support. Don’t forget, this is Sky Flow Valley, and there have been nurous sorcerers researching the teleportation array before you.”
President Hardy smoothed things over.
Hearing this, sothing clicked in Ivan’s mind.
He suddenly realized that summoning him to the nine-layer sorcerer tower was likely not a random act; in other words, there was sothing in this tower that could aid him.
“President is insightful. Actually, I am targeting a type of directed teleportation, a special kind of directed teleportation. To make it easier to understand, I’ve coined a succinct na—’Town Recall Scroll.’
As the na implies, it’s a scroll for returning from the wilderness to a city.
This could be extended to an returning from outside via predetermined spatial pathways to a predetermined location. The Town Recall Scroll doesn’t necessarily have to be in the form of a scroll—”
Ivan, holding no right to doubt any arcane wizard, imdiately started explaining his objectives and plans.
Earlier, when he observed the beacon lighthouse and learned about its strong pulling and directional properties, similar ideas had flashed through his mind, reminiscent of certain elents from a ga in his previous life.
Of course, one was an illusory fake and the other, constructed according to spatial rules, was real.
His plan for the Town Recall Scroll would certainly differ significantly from the ga’s version.
The reasons he didn’t directly choose the teleportation array included various factors; teleportation arrays with limited distance weren’t very aningful, whereas the Town Recall Scroll was, and could also be adjusted.
In his estimation, the Town Recall Scroll would undoubtedly yield so result by the end, regardless of the scale.
Moreover, compared to the long-anticipated teleportation array, this new concept was different, easier to satisfy onlookers in so respects—he was finding a clever workaround.
