Chapter 465: Chapter 464 Candidly and Frankly
Tanaya had never encountered such a stubborn person before. Seeing that she couldn’t persuade Ivan no matter what, she left a ssage indicating she would return, then hastily left the second floor of the Round Tower.
Ivan didn’t stop her, guessing she would co back with an even more tempting offer next ti, and if she could move him, then he would consider himself defeated.
“I wonder what sort of vicious aftereffects could declare that Tanaya had lost the potential to beco an Arcane Wizard.”
“The great families have their own cruel rules indeed.”
He knew quite a bit about Tanaya’s circumstances, and couldn’t help feeling sorry for her current plight.
It wasn’t difficult to surmise that if Tanaya retained even a sliver of potential to beco an Arcane Wizard, the Fitzgerald family’s rules, no matter how harsh, would absolutely not force her into any arranged marriage.
...
No family would push a future Arcane Wizard out their front door.
After a mont of contemplation, Ivan began to busy himself with his own affairs. The complications surrounding Tanaya’s situation were too great, and he was determined not to get involved if he could avoid it.
anwhile, Tanaya returned to her residence with a gloomy expression.
Upon seeing Mara, who had been waiting for so ti, she squeezed out a sowhat forced smile.
“He didn’t agree?”
“Mm.”
“So what do we do, should we leave the sorcerer world as we considered before, and find a place without a single sorcerer to live?” Mara sounded disappointed, she bit her lip, and suggested an idea.
“We haven’t reached that point yet; He may be very difficult to deal with, but I definitely won’t give up,” Tanaya shook her head.
“It’s my fault, I’m too useless, I—-” Mara began with a tone of guilt, but Tanaya pressed her fingertip against her thin lips.
“Don’t talk like that. You’re more useful than anyone. Without you, I would have already self-destructed. Rest assured, I will find the right way to get him to agree to our plan; I must!”
Tanaya reassured her with a few words, her eyes filled with determination as she spoke.
By now, they had no retreat left.
As for leaving the sorcerer world, she knew very well that unless they fled to an alien world, with the capabilities of the two great families, they would be found sooner or later.
“Let’s go, we need to talk to another guy.”
“Who?”
“So ddleso fellow; if not for him, today’s business wouldn’t have been so troubleso.”
Seeing Tanaya suddenly clench her fists tightly, Mara was puzzled but didn’t continue to ask. They would find out soon enough after eting the person.
For soone who sabotaged their plans, Mara naturally harbored deep resentnt.
In another high tower of Sky Flow Valley, Morris sneezed repeatedly and suspiciously examined both the inside and outside of his body. He muttered to himself: What’s happening? There’s nothing particularly wrong.
…
In the second-floor Round Tower, Ivan had not expected Tanaya to co back so eagerly, calling on him again just one day later.
She did not co alone; this ti, she brought three helpers, arriving with considerable force.
“Master Hotter, is it the gathering of the Five-Colored Magic Robe today? I didn’t prepare any good wine,” Ivan said, unchanging in countenance as he led the group into the parlor, not forgetting to jest.
“Not necessarily—cough cough, I have serious business with you; I ca at the invitation of Tanaya. As for the purpose, you should be able to guess,” Master Hotter tried to crack a joke, but promptly straightened up when he noticed a gaze from the side.
“Morris, why are you here too?” Ivan turned to another person.
“Cough cough, I—also accepted Miss Tanaya’s invitation. Ivan, listen to this sorcerer’s advice, just give in,” Morris feigned a cough, then proceeded to offer his advice.
The fellow had actually turned traitor!
Ivan glared at him fiercely, and Morris gave a sheepish smile and chose a corner to sit in, making it clear he would not interfere too much.
In truth, he had no choice.
It was his own fault for prying into the Fitzgerald family’s affairs and being caught in the act, eventually leading to them knocking on his door.
The true beginning of this affair actually rested upon Ivan himself.
“Sorcerer Ivan, today you must give an explanation, a proper solution,” Tanaya spoke out loud as she saw soone trying to dismantle her advocates one by one, her tone firm and resolute.
Her words imdiately attracted everyone’s attention to her.
“As for the concern you voiced earlier, I can also give you an answer, the lady in na certainly won’t fancy any other man.”
Tanaya then reached for Mara’s hand beside her, and the two exchanged a glance, the tenderness in their eyes unmistakably spilling into the air around them.
Their affection was palpable, yet it overpowered the gentlen present, rendering them nearly petrified.
At this mont, Ivan and his two companions couldn’t help but widen their eyes in shock.
They vividly rembered that Mara’s full na was ‘Mara Gardner’, the sister of Tanaya’s intended fiancé, Beiluo Gardner.
The sister vied for her brother’s fiancée?
This was just too chaotic and sensational!
“At this point, I’m tired of hiding it from you all; your guesses are correct, Mara is the one I love.”
“Tanaya is the person I love the most,” the three male sorcerers looked at each other one after another, their minds sowhat muddled.
Could it be that the world had changed too swiftly, and they were unaware of sothing they had missed?
“The situation is as such; we do not want the Fitzgerald Family and the Gardner Family to be shad because of us,” Tanaya continued with her usual poised deanor, emphasizing her point.
Indeed, Mara’s identity was extrely sensitive. Once it got out, it would be difficult to say it wasn’t a scandal.
With the eminent reputations of both the Fitzgeralds and Gardners, perhaps this could erupt into a scandal that would shock both the sorcerer world and the alien world beyond, and then the entertainnt would indeed be grand.
Morris grinned wryly, wishing he had known better than to join the commotion; now he feared he was aboard a dood vessel.
“Ivan, let’s hear your thoughts,” as an Arcane Wizard, Master Hotis conveniently tossed the issue onto soone else.
“Sorcerer Tanaya, why don’t you simply report this to your family? That way, could you not have the chance for a mutual alliance instead of this current awkward predicant?” Ivan pondered before asking curiously.
“Do you think Mara and I could simply marry?” Tanaya retorted.
“Though it’s a bit unconventional, from my perspective, it can be understood and accepted. You must trust in the sorcerer world’s inclusiveness,” Ivan could certainly understand; as long as it didn’t interfere with his own interests.
“Thank you.”
Seeing his sincere attitude, Tanaya genuinely thanked him before ruefully adding, “Actually, I never imagined that one day I would need to marry for alliance. By the ti I learned of my family’s arrangent, everything had almost been settled, and I, the main character, was probably the last to know.”
At that mont, a telepathic ssage from Hotis reached Ivan’s ears.
He ntioned that Tanaya’s parents had passed away one after the other, and now her closest elder relative was Lady Vicky, her father’s legitimate wife.
This Lady Vicky was not Tanaya’s biological mother.
Ivan understood in his heart that it was nothing more than internal family turmoil; the Fitzgeralds had a vast number of family mbers, and such situations were more than common.
“In the past, I occupied a large share of the family’s resources. Now that the family has such arrangents, I’m not completely unable to understand. But Mara is my only concern now, to ask to abandon her for soone else, I’d rather die.”
Tanaya continued, and from her voice, it wasn’t hard to discern her determination and her willingness to die for it.
This sent a chill down everyone’s spine.
“Tanaya, rest assured, we will certainly provide a proper solution here today,” Master Hotis quickly assured her.
Ivan looked at him silently, pondering but saying nothing in rebuttal.
If there was really no other way, he might suggest that this grand arbiter should simply go all out and put on a truly touching drama. He couldn’t believe that a mighty Arcane Wizard couldn’t sway the Fitzgerald family.
Hotis had the audacity to take on such responsibility after all.
With this thought, Ivan felt much lighter.
He pinned his last hopes on Hotis, unaware that Hotis was thinking the sa, continuously contemplating a way to make him agree.
The two exchanged an unintentional glance, their eyes filled with profound aning.
